Hey hey Monday ladies!
If your due date is 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23 or 4/30 - your "ticker" changes today!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
2. How are you feeling?
3. Any appointments coming up?
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
Re: Monday Ticker Change 10/9
2. I have a pretty bad sinus infection, so I feel pretty lousy. It's hard to tell if I still have 1st tri fatigue or if that's just related to the infection.
3. No appts until November now.
4. The 5yo will not stop complaining about every.single.damn.thing, and the 3yo feeds off of her. It's only 7:46am and they have school off today for Columbus Day. Today has the potential to be really long.
Celebration: Only one more week until 2nd tri!!
5. I am completely allergic to Texas, but when my allergies aren't acting up, I love to go for family walks. I also really like to do random craft projects as they pop up in my head and I have time. I'm a fantasy junkie with books, so I'm really looking forward to Brandon Sanderson's next book, but I also just reread Running Barefoot by Amy Harmon because it's wonderful.
13 Weeks and last full week of 1st tri!! Woooohooo! Size of a lemon.
2. How are you feeling?
Still feel sick off and on... it's getting better though. I was able to stay up throughout the day over the weekend instead of taking a nap which was an accomplishment.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until the beginning on November.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I'm in the dreaded two week wait for my NIPT results and I'm feeling so nervous/worried about it. I really hope it doesn't take the full 10 days to hear back.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
My husband and I live the most boring lives right now it's really sad. We don't do anything except take care of our house (yard work, cleaning, ect). I wish I had a favorite activity but I really don't and I couldn't tell you the last time I read a book. Normally I read news articles online, blogs, opinion pieces, ect. I would say one of my favorite books that I have read in the past though is Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankel.
15 Weeks! Baby is the size of a navel orange or SpongeBob Squarepants LOL
2. How are you feeling?
Ok, I wish I could actually eat something though. I don't feel sick but food just doesn't sound good. When I think I want to eat something when I start to make an attempt to make it it no longer sounds good. Sooooo frustrating because I do feel hungry until it's time to put the food in my mouth then it's pretty much forcing myself to eat just to get the nourishment.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Nope not until next week on the 19th
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I love MH but he drives me soooo crazy right now. Everything I eat or just normal pregnancy symptoms he freaks out. Which yes is wonderful he cares so much but man he needs to relax some. Yesterday we had dinner at my parents and my SIL made fried biscuits and my MH kept looking at the ones I put on my plate and asked if they were cooked all the way through and if its ok that I'm eating them. He also wouldn't let me get the queso from Qdoba (even though I showed him on the website that everything in it was pasteurized) he didn't want to risk it.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I like playing video games, mostly Nintendo. Harry Potter for sure my favorite book to read but I love to read so read some rom-com books and other young adult series.
13; size of a lemon...or a clownfish
2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good. I still get tired, but not complaining.
3. Any appointments coming up?
2 more weeks.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Rant that will turn into a celebration..eventually - I have had my gender results since last Thursday. It has been DH's responsibility to come up with a gender reveal plan since he didn't like any of my other ones. He has been dragging his feet and wasn't ready when we were handed the results. Hoping we do this in the next day or two. My patience is running out.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I like being active, so anything outdoors or sports-related. DH and I scuba dive, but only get to do it a few times a year....now zero for a while.
15wks, an orange
2. How are you feeling?
Exhausted, but truckin' along
3. Any appointments coming up?
I go Wednesday for monthly appt and they'll use the Doppler
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I've been wanting to use pumpkins to announce the sex to everyone but it's been too darn hot to go do the hayride/pumpkin picking thing. It's not suppose to be 80+ degrees in October in NJ! Over it.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
Lately it's been sleep when I can! But really spending time with DD since I work full time including weekends so I feel like our time is limited and she's growing too fast!
Married April 9, 2011

IUI #1 w/ Tamoxifen+Ovidrel+Acupuncture July 10, 2017-->BFP!!! EDD Apr 2, 2018. Panorama=low risk...and another GIRL!
JJMNO1616 I stayed up all day on saturday and felt accomplished as well !!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
13 weeks! yay! Size of a Peach..
2. How are you feeling?
I am feeling pretty good, not really nauseous which is nice. But a lot of food still just does not sound appetizing at all, so I have to force myself to eat it. Also, looking forward to when I'm not tired all the time..not sure when that will happen.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Just had one on Thursday and saw LO on the vscan, they were moving like crazy so that made me REALLY happy, since I had MC a month prior to this pregnancy. No appointments again for a month.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I am excited I finally told all my family and my boss. Now I am done really telling people formally, the rest of the world can figure it out
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I would say my favorite activity to do is exercise, run/exercises classes, its a good stress reliever. Not sure if baths count, but I also like those lol -- I'm still a teenager at heart and I love Sarah Dessen books, I've read them all pretty much !
11 Weeks, Lime
2. How are you feeling?
Really good. I'm less tired, so I started working out again over the weekend. It felt great!
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until next Friday, but I did do the blood draw for the MaterniT21 test today. I'm a little anxious to get the results, I just want to know that everything looks good with the baby.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
We moved in July and we still haven't finished unpacking. I feel like I need time off work just to clean and finally finish unpacking everything. I can feel my nesting instincts kicking in, because it's really driving me crazy now, maybe this means I'll do something about it soon.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
We're a very outdoorsy family, so we love to camp, hike, etc. We live in the mountains with some really great hiking trails. I also run and mountain bike, though it'll be a while before I mountain bike again. I just finished What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty, and it was a really great read. The two Liane Moriarty books I've read have been great, so I'm thinking I should read her other books.
14 weeks, size of a Troll doll
2. How are you feeling?
I got a flu shot on Saturday and I'm still feeling a little icky from it. Otherwise I'm doing really well lately.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not for two more weeks.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Finally in second tri! It kinda felt like I'd never get here and it's so exciting now that I am!
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I love going to museums. I'm fortunate to live in a city with tons to choose from and I started DS out young with them, so now it's a wonderful family activity. I don't usually re-read books because there are just SO MANY on my list. The last book I read was The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I also loved The Goldfinch by the same author.
@JJMNO1616 girl, I'm with you on the boring lives. We wait until the kids take naps and then we're like "wooo! Time to do yard work!" Ugh.
@dumbgirl04 my husband can get the same way sometimes and it drives me nuts. I hate when he questions if what I'm eating is safe. Dude, I'm not going to do anything that puts this baby at risk so you just need to back off.
@scuba_chic you have the patience of a saint for not checking the results yet. There's absolutely no way I could do that!
@stephieMK the weather has been the same here in MA! We've been doing a lot of outdoor stuff lately and every day it sneaky turns into an 80° afternoon and I basically die. Enough already!
@itsrandiyo ugh I wish my favorite activity was exercising. It's just... not
@irenejean moving is the absolute worst, and unpacking is terrible. I don't blame you for not having all of it done yet.
@kaymaroo I wanted to like The Goldfinch, the reviews were glowing, but it just never clicked with me. I was so disappointed.
AFM:
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
15 weeks -- the size of a pear, I guess?
2. How are you feeling?
Good! Lots more energy these days, though I get dehydrated SO fast if I'm not careful.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until the 18th
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
My baby girl is turning 1 this week! We're having a party with just family on Friday and I'm kind of dreading getting the house ready for it, but I'm excited to see everyone. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by with her!
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
It sounds so lame, but my favorite activity is shopping by myself. Not grocery shopping, but going to a place like Home Goods and just browsing in peace without my kids getting antsy or one of them screeching that they're hungry. Favorite books to read are the Harry Potter series. I can reread those books all day erryday.
irenejean No having everything unpacked would drive me INSANE, but having to unpack it in first tri...no way. Good luck!
13 weeks - lemon. However, at my NT scan last Wednesday they said the baby was measuring a week bigger, and wanted to move my due date up to April 9! I didn't let them change my due date in my chart since I went late last time and don't want to be pressured into induction, and the baby was measuring only a couple days ahead at 7 weeks. I do think I ovulated early, but not a full week. So I think I'm actually somewhere between 13 and 14!
2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good. I have random waves of nausea and am particularly susceptible to motion sickness, but my energy levels are getting better!
3. Any appointments coming up?
Regular midwife appt on Weds.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I told my boss today and it went really well! I've sort of been dreading it. Now I can let other people at work know, although I feel awkward about randomly telling people...
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
My favorite activity used to be running - I've done 3 marathons and a dozen halfs, but I haven't been able to run much since I was pregnant with my first kiddo - 2 years ago
@Dumbgurl04 I totally feel your pain on nothing sounding good. I have been eating really random things throughout the day when I am home because if it sounds good or like something I can stomach in the moment I go for it quickly. My husband has been concerned that I'm not eating enough but I just can't do meals right now. I would also be having some serious undercover Qdoba eating going on if I were you. We don't have Qdoba here in Texas and I miss that queso sooo much!
@scuba_chic I would have gone off on my DH by now or at least looked at the results lol! There is NO way I could wait.
@StephieMK I'm ready for fall weather too but I live in Texas so I won't experience cooler temps until November/December.
@itsrandiyo It's so nice to feel somewhat like a normal human again!
@irenejean I'm right there with you about the nerves. Really hoping I get a call from a nurse and not my doctor with the results. I'm terrified to miss the call!
@kaymaroo Did you get your flu shot from your OB? I forgot to ask my Dr. about it when I was in for my appointment last week. I'm not sure who I should be getting it from.
@kmalls I have been getting dehydrated really quickly as well and I am going through that water aversion phase right now. Also... I LOVE Home Goods, went there this past weekend though and couldn't find a single thing I liked! Whomp whomp.
@StephieMK I am in MI and our weather is the same... I hate it!!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
12 weeks... babies are the size of plums.
2. How are you feeling?
Soooooo much better *knock on wood.* Mild nausea, although crazy fatigue. However, I was able to be productive today for the first time since I got pregnant basically.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Had an u/s today to check the growth of Baby B because they were a week behind... guess who caught up?!?!? A is 12+1 and B is 11+6!!!!! Will see my OB on 10/23 at 14 weeks.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Just excited to be feeling better and knowing babies are doing well. Also, I feel like I look more prego and less fat now, which is great.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
Favorite activity.... going to the movies. Mmmmm popcorn. Favorite book to read... this is hard because I like so many books!!!! I have been wanting to reread Harry Potter again...
I posted in Bag of Beans but wanted to show off to all you Monday gals... babies as of today!
@kmallsI hope your daughter's birthday party goes so well!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
12 weeks. Baby is the size of a plum!
2. How are you feeling?
I've been feeling fairly well the last week. My nausea seems to be sticking around, but I am getting my energy back. It's been nice to want to workout again.
3. Any appointments coming up?
October 25th for my first appointment with my OB/Gyn.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I was able to find baby's heart beat with my home doppler yesterday, and it was amazing. Planning on just using it periodically throughout the pregnancy, but what a thrill it was to finally find it!
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I really enjoy going for walks and being outside. I have felt a little "indoorsy" since becoming pregnant so I'm hoping I can venture outside more these last few weeks of nice weather in Minnesota. I highly recommend the book "Love Does" by Bob Goff.
13 weeks! Size of a peach. Last week of 1st tri!
2. How are you feeling?
I'm feeling pretty good except for an incident last week where I had gas pain so bad that I had to stop teaching and lay on the floor. No more fiber pills for me.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until November when I switch to a midwife (my work changes insurance on Nov. 1).
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Nothing this week.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I wish I was more exciting, but I'm really quite a home-body. I love spending time with my SO, cooking and eating out. I also get into crafty moods occasionally. I'm pretty into memoirs and enjoy Sedaris and Burroughs.
Also, my OB offered me the flu shot at my appt, but I turned it down. I bet the next time you go, just ask them and they'll do it.
@Dumbgurl04 - I've had the same problems with food. It's really hard to find something that sounds good and will go down okay too. We probably have some similar tastes in books!
@scuba_chic - do you know the results and you're trying to figure out how to tell other people, or you're waiting to find out, but have the results?
@StephieMK both of my kids had today off of school, so I did this crazy thing and took them to a local farm-type place that also has a pumpkin patch. I thought I was going to die it was so dang hot!! Were you wanting to do the picture at an actual pumpkin patch, or just with a pumpkin? If you just want a pumpkin, go to Kroger or HEB and skip the heat!!
@itsrandiyo - my H was kind of a poop this week too - maybe they are just as susceptible to the changing mood as kids!
@irenejean - moving sucks so much!! so glad you're going to be able to get moved in before the baby is born!!
@kaymaroo - what a fun hobby! and I love that your kiddo is on board too! May I ask what city you live in? That's awesome.
@mountainsmama - wow that's a lot of running
@sarelizr very cool that you got to see the babies!
@kmalls - I LOVE Home Goods!! And good luck with the birthday party!
@dan0081 - that's really cool about the home doppler! I haven't had one for any of my pregnancies, because I was a little nervous I wouldn't be able to find the heart beat and then I'd freak out, but I bet that was really awesome to just hear it because you felt like it!
2. How are you feeling? It seems like my nausea is starting to die down for the most part, but the fatigue is still real. We had beautiful weather yesterday, so hubby, DS, and I got out for a really long walk. It felt great!
3. Any appointments coming up? Nothing until 14 weeks. I just had my first one last week at 10w3d,
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Nothing this week. Just can't wait to have a baby bump and get the maternity clothes out, so I wish 2nd tri would hurry up!
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read? I have a lot of hobbies I like to do, I just never have much time for them! I was an avid horseback rider. Now I like painting rooms in our house, making wood signs, and going on long walks. My favorite book to read is The Autobiography of Santa Claus. It's a ridiculously cute novel that combines the story of St. Nick with the various lengends of Santa from all over the world to create this really fun story of the life of Santa Claus. My second graders love when we read it around the holidays!
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!

Trying for baby #2!
IUI #1 w/ Tamoxifen+Ovidrel+Acupuncture July 10, 2017-->BFP!!! EDD Apr 2, 2018. Panorama=low risk...and another GIRL!
13 weeks and baby is as big as a lemon
2. How are you feeling?
Getting a little more energy but the back pain has gotten pretty bad and the acid reflux is awful too.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Yes! Had one today. Ultrasound looked great (except a small subchronic hematoma) and got my Claritest results back. Negative and it looks like we’re having a girl!!!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Raving over a girl. I have a son who I love and love being a boy mom. I would have been thrilled with another boy. I’m shocked it’s a girl though and so excited!
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I love traveling. Favorite book is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
14 weeks, big as 2 little peaches!
2. How are you feeling?
Still fighting head/chest cold (thanks pregnancy for the extra mucous), tired, and heartburn has really kicked up. Oh, and sciatica flares lately. But, no MS!
3. Any appointments coming up?
Tomorrow. Think it’s just the 14 week appointment, but I should get to see them (best part of being AMA - extra US)!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
nothing to do with pregnancy... my rant is people who drop off unwanted animals. I found a small, underweight, nearly blind cat under my back steps yesterday morning. She is so loving! As DH said we are ‘a couple of bleeding hearts’ so we will take her in. Poor kitty
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
Really, I love to do so many things! I love gardening, mowing lawn, playing outside with the animals, remodeling projects... I don’t like rereading the same book, but I enjoy Dan Brown’s books (the last book I read was Inferno in August 2014, yes I am ashamed).
@Dumbgurl04 is this your DH's first kiddo? MH was like that with our first too but now its like he forgets there are 'rules' with pregnancy. He routinely offers me martinis while he's making his and I'm like DUDE. No. Gimme a sip of your wine though...
@scuba_chic I love David Baldacci! And I loved Nora Roberts years ago but I haven't ready one in over ten years... maybe fifteen! I should test run one. And Yay about reveal this weekend!!
@irenejean What Alice Forgot is on my list to read. Everyone has positive things to say about it!
@kmalls Happy birthday baby girl!
@sarelizr look at those squishes!
@sissy42 omg... This is like the most embarrassing thing but I just bought some Kegel weights because I'm having serious issues. I just started this weekend. I've had issues since DD's birth though and pregnancy is wrecking me. So I'm upping my Kegel game. I'm so mortified though. DH thought they were sex toys and got all excited. /sigh. Sorry hubs.
@growingournest that Santa book sounds awesome and right up my Christmas loving alley lol! I need to look it up!
@g_amoss don't be ashamed, life happens! I also love Dan Brown!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
13 weeks, umm... I forgot what the app said yesterday!
2. How are you feeling?
I'm feeling pretty good. I can FEEL second trimester arriving. I woke up early on Monday with the kids and let DH sleep in! AND TMI incoming... DH and I got some all weekend long... First trimester was a long dry spell.
3. Any appointments coming up?
I have another three weeks. Went last week because I was nervous about the UTI... cultures finally came back and I found out yesterday I still have it. Its stressing me out!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I'm glad I'm starting to feel better. I'm ready to leave the fat or pregnant stage, I'm just not there yet.
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
My favorite activity is hanging out with my kids and DH... is that lame? I love family outings to the park, the zoo, walks, etc. I love when they will just chill and sit with us to watch a movie (DD doesn't do this yet, but she did pass out on me for a catnap yesterday so we watched a movie with DS!). I don't have a favorite book I reread. I have a hard time rewatching movies and rereading books. DH thinks I'm weird. I don't like knowing how things end!
DS: EDD, December 19th, 2014. Born, December 19th, 2014!
DD: EDD, July 18th, 2016. Born, July 19th, 2016!
Baby #3: EDD, April 16th, 2016
@irenejean thank you!
DS: EDD, December 19th, 2014. Born, December 19th, 2014!
DD: EDD, July 18th, 2016. Born, July 19th, 2016!
Baby #3: EDD, April 16th, 2016
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
11 - pulling up the rear with a due date of 4/30 - looks like there are only a few of us
2. How are you feeling?
Nausea has gotten better and I'm getting a tiny bit of energy back. My mood is all over the place though. My patience level has dropped to zero and I get so frustrated and flustered sooo easily. And randomly cry. This part is not so fun...
3. Any appointments coming up?
Had labwork for NIPT today - should have results in 7-10 working days, aah! So very nervous.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I am currently in the midst of planning my one year old's birthday party - she will be one on the 25th. Sooo many emotions that are intensified because of pregnancy hormones. I want it to be special but I'm also trying to be practical and remember that at this point it's more about us than her...but it's hard! I just want to buy all the pretty things!!! Lol
5. GTKY: what's a favorite activity to do and a favorite book to read?
I loooove being outside. Love going for walks and running when I can. Love going to outdoor festivals, concerts, art shows, etc. Just took DD to our local pumpkin patch last weekend - so much fun!
I am also really into Liane Moriarty lately. Just finished The Last Anniversary, which I really enjoyed. Am on Chapter 2 of The Husband's Secret currently. The Hypnotist's Love Story and What Alice Forgot were really, really good too. @irenejean - What other ones have you read? I think I want to read all of them too!
@sissy42 and @JJMNO1616 - What part of TX are y'all in? I'm in East TX and I'm pretty sure whatever is in the air is trying to kill me! Talked to my OB this morning about different allergy meds I could possibly take because Zyrtec is not cutting it!
ETA: @kmalls Hi!! I recognize you from O16!
@kmalls - I know?! How did that happen and where in the world the time go?? When's your LO's birthday? How has this year been for you guys?
@JJMNO1616 and I both live in The Woodlands area - sort of North West Houston. I thought it was crazy to find another mom on the board who lives in the same town as I do! When I was in May '12, I had a girl on the board who technically lived in a different town, but attended the same church we did at the time! It's a small world, this pregnancy thing. Whereabouts in East Texas are you?
(Also I was supposed to be May 30 with DD1 (she was born on June 12! gah), and then I was due on March 28 with DD2 (born March 31), and then this one is due April 23... I'm always destined to be on the caboose. I hear ya!
The last year has definitely been full of ups and downs. The first 4 months were awful, not gonna lie. DD had terrible reflux and never slept, and DS (he was 19 months when DD was born) was a typical toddler and went at 100 miles an hour allllll the time. It was such an exhausting time. Then one day DD was just...better! She started sleeping through the night around 14 weeks and turned into such a happy girl. She's such a great kid now.
How did everything go for you??
ETA - I hope the party goes well this weekend!! I may have spent the majority of my morning party planning and not working...oops.
