@MrsMiller8588 I went into grad school terrified of public speaking to the extent that I'd get intense anxiety attacks. After six years of having to give pretty much constant presentations in a variety of venues with varying levels of preparation, I got used to it! It took a while of pretty much constant exposure though. I have a couple of research manuscripts I'm working on writing, as well as a few documents to prep some new research studies. The teaching observation is for my annual review, so I also have to write a narrative statement to go along with that. Fun times.

@jrm_14. Yum! I need to look for it...so hard to give up coffee. I'm impressed by your attempt...I have not even tried. @blackhottamales. Hoping O is imminent so you can join me over in TWW. . My go-to for getting Mh in the mood is starting with a massage. I don't even mention us hanging out to begin with...I just say I want him to relax. Maybe TMI, but I warm up coconut oil, have him lay on stomach and just start massage. I slowly move to that area and lightly brush past while moving to his legs. He usually gets turned on enough that the massage turns into some fun. . I find that lighting a scented candle and playing some music on my phone also helps set the mood.
@shortstack930 yeah, i try to use opks...when i read them i'm just not sure if they are positive or not. I have PCOS, so the cheap opk's aren't great. i have thought about trying clear blue--it just seems so expensive! @dukestar5 thanks for the tip and definitely not TMI! yes, we'll see what my temps are like the next few days. I want to be over in TWW! mostly because i don't think this is our cycle so hopefully we can start on a new cycle.
@blackhottamales I tried the clear blues for awhile and I wasn't impressed. And I agree that it's wayyy to expensive. But yeah, if you have PCOS I know it can mess with OPKs so that's frustrating. Are you seeing an RE?

@dukestar5. I have reduced coffee. Cutting it out completely simply isn’t an option . @Shortstack06 Glad to see you back! Everything healed post surgery? @blackhottamales MH has taken gummy vitamins for a couple of years. A few weeks ago, I sent him an article on men’s vitamins and simply said hey, noticed your vitamins don’t have all the important things, especially for conception. Let me know if you want me to order one of these. Last week, I said, I’m ordering contacts. Lmk if you want vitamins. He said he did & hopefully they work out! He already takes a daily medication, so he takes them together. Works well.
@shortstack930 Not yet, i have a great OB that is an infertility specialist (and i know there is a big difference) For me, I've been trying to focus on losing some weight and getting myself to ovulate. The reality is that I know there is more i could be doing to get KU. I could be working out more and removing sugar from my diet, i could be making sure we HIO more often in estimated FW. So my OB has been great and supportive in my slow processes. I know i'm getting older, but this is the path that MH and i decided on for now. I had a bad September with eating and lack of working out enough so i gained weight. If I do lose that darn 7 lbs i need to be able to try clomid, then i will ask for a referral to an RE i think based on everyone's suggestions from TB to be under an RE's guidance for clomid. I guess i keep trying to get healthier myself before going down the IUI or medicated cycle. Since we confirmed in July that i ovulated, and it seems like i have been continuing to ovulate since then, we are trying on our own until November and then I was going to go back to my OB. So hopefully over the next month i can lose that last bit of weight and figure out what our best steps are. (sorry for such a long response).
@Avrilmai I can’t wait for Stranger Things! So excited to
binge watch it. Does writing responses on here count as my writing for today? I
just finished teaching and am feeling so tired I don’t want to write.
@jrm_14 I’ve got MH on a multivitamin, CoQ10, and vitamin D.
I do have to remind him to take them, but I’m taking a handful of pills morning
and night, so I just get his out when I take mine. I think MH was sort of
traumatized by how upset I was that last cycle didn’t work, so he’s on board
with making changes. You asked me yesterday about what we got rid of in terms
of BPA and phthalates, right? We got rid of a lot of stuff like shampoo,
deodorant, shaving cream, etc. Most things with synthetic fragrances have
phthalates. We already use only glass storage containers for food, and we’re
researching all the canned food we buy to make sure the cans are BPA free. Also,
our kitty stole a piece of chicken from a pan last night and ate about half of it
before we noticed. Oops!
@dukestar5 I’m trying to keep a positive mindset! This
weekend was really rough emotionally, and I’m doing what I can to get to a good
place.
@blackhottamales Unfortunately I was inside all morning, and
now it’s looking cloudy! Sorry you and YH are having trouble with timing! That
is always a challenge. Fx you can HIO tonight! I know there are many things we
can each do to help with ttc, but I also know that I can get really overwhelmed
and start blaming myself if I’m not doing everything “perfectly.” All that to
say, be kind to yourself through this process. It’s hard.
@shortstack930 Thanks! I think the observation went well. It’s
hard to know though! I’m always paranoid I’ll teach a concept incorrectly or
something. Your morning really does sound hectic! Fx the cd3 bw looks good
though!
@Stargazer1lily It’s amazing how much having a clean house
helps! If only I didn’t hate cleaning so much.
@kiwi2628
I envy your lazy day at home! I hope you’re having a lovely time though.
@blackhottamales. MH used to take VitaFusion gummies. They don’t have folic acid, zinc, or something else. I got him the first on in the list from the link in spoiler. However, there are some NatureMade Gummies on this list that look like get have more things in them than his others!
@darkstar42. MH drinks water only from disposable water bottles. Drives. Me. Bananas. We never heat up or store food in plastic. We rarely eat canned food, but frozen veggies comes in plastic . Sounds like you made a good overhaul. What all did you replace your hygiene products with? I have been pretty overwhelmed lately, too, with MUST do all the WAYDTGKU stuff. Then I stress if I don’t. ::remembers to breathe::ha, your kitty sounds like a food sneak-attacker like mine! I may have shared this picture before, but I crack up every time I see it:
ETA: Don’t judge the hot dogs! They were nitrate & by product free.
@jrm_14 I love the kitty pic! That is so much like our kitty. And I'm totally not judging the hot dogs. I kind of love hot dogs, though we also try to get nitrate & by-product free. For hygiene products, I use avalon organics for hair care and face wash and crystal essence for deodorant. I don't like body wash, so the soap I get is sappo hill. MH was the one using stuff with phthalates. He has asked me to stop by the store and get him new stuff today, so I'll let you know what I get! Generally though, avoid stuff with synthetic fragrances or "unscented." You want either fragrance-free or essential oils for fragrance. Yeah, I get in a mindset of, "I must not be ku because I had that cookie, or because I used that laundry detergent." and I have to talk myself down.
WAYDTGKU: Started taking Ovaboost, and just purchased the Clearblue digital ovulation tests. Tested today and no O, but there was a faint line there, does that mean it's getting close?
R/R: I am currently off today from work, and its a gross, rainy, humid day here in NYC, so I spent it so far doing laundry, catching up on some work for tomorrow, and slow cooking a roast. PS- the wonderful oversized NYC bugs are out in full force today due to the weather

@MrsMiller8588 GL with your presentations. There's a quote that helps me calm any nerves when I have to speak publicly. "If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present". I don't know why, but it helps me to think about being in the moment and if I start to feel myself getting anxious to just remind myself that it is future worry and that everything in the present is just fine.
@darkstar42 sorry about CD 2. GL with the observation and hope you enjoy your kitties and beautiful fall day.
@blackhottamales Sorry you are struggling a bit with timing. For me, at least lately, TTC has been starting to feel like a bit of chore. I also struggle with diet, weight and body image, so that doesn't help either. Hoping to see you in TWW soon.
@Stargazer1lily Nice work on the jog and the clean house! That must feel good!

Before that, I think the last shows I binge watched pretty really quickly were Orange in the New Black and Stranger Things.

Works well.
CD: 4
WAYDTGKU: BBT,CM,OPK,HIO
R/R: Feeling so much better this week got a 45min jog in and cleaned up the house again.
CS/Q:nope
GTKY: (stolen from TWW) What TV shows have you binge watched recently? Supernatural,True Blood and SOA
CD: 7
WAYDTGKU: letrozole, TI
R/R: I took today off from work because I had a wedding yesterday and I knew I would be tired so I am having a wonderful lazy day at home
CS/Q:
GTKY: (stolen from TWW) What TV shows have you binge watched recently? Re-watching Gossip Girl!!! I love it. Also Outlander.
@Avrilmai I can’t wait for Stranger Things! So excited to binge watch it. Does writing responses on here count as my writing for today? I just finished teaching and am feeling so tired I don’t want to write.
@jrm_14 I’ve got MH on a multivitamin, CoQ10, and vitamin D. I do have to remind him to take them, but I’m taking a handful of pills morning and night, so I just get his out when I take mine. I think MH was sort of traumatized by how upset I was that last cycle didn’t work, so he’s on board with making changes. You asked me yesterday about what we got rid of in terms of BPA and phthalates, right? We got rid of a lot of stuff like shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, etc. Most things with synthetic fragrances have phthalates. We already use only glass storage containers for food, and we’re researching all the canned food we buy to make sure the cans are BPA free. Also, our kitty stole a piece of chicken from a pan last night and ate about half of it before we noticed. Oops!
@dukestar5 I’m trying to keep a positive mindset! This weekend was really rough emotionally, and I’m doing what I can to get to a good place.
@blackhottamales Unfortunately I was inside all morning, and now it’s looking cloudy! Sorry you and YH are having trouble with timing! That is always a challenge. Fx you can HIO tonight! I know there are many things we can each do to help with ttc, but I also know that I can get really overwhelmed and start blaming myself if I’m not doing everything “perfectly.” All that to say, be kind to yourself through this process. It’s hard.
@shortstack930 Thanks! I think the observation went well. It’s hard to know though! I’m always paranoid I’ll teach a concept incorrectly or something. Your morning really does sound hectic! Fx the cd3 bw looks good though!
@Stargazer1lily It’s amazing how much having a clean house helps! If only I didn’t hate cleaning so much.
@kiwi2628 I envy your lazy day at home! I hope you’re having a lovely time though.@darkstar42. MH drinks water only from disposable water bottles. Drives. Me. Bananas. We never heat up or store food in plastic. We rarely eat canned food, but frozen veggies comes in plastic
ETA: Don’t judge the hot dogs! They were nitrate & by product free.
CD: 8
WAYDTGKU: Started taking Ovaboost, and just purchased the Clearblue digital ovulation tests. Tested today and no O, but there was a faint line there, does that mean it's getting close?
R/R: I am currently off today from work, and its a gross, rainy, humid day here in NYC, so I spent it so far doing laundry, catching up on some work for tomorrow, and slow cooking a roast.
PS- the wonderful oversized NYC bugs are out in full force today due to the weather
CS/Q:
GTKY: (stolen from TWW) What TV shows have you binge watched recently?
Binge watching Ozark on Netflix currently. Before that it was Orange is the New Black.

R/R: I'm WFH and boss is OOO today so I feel like I have some freedom to bump (things have otherwise been pretty crazy with work/life lately). It's also a beautiful, clear and crisp fall day here so hoping to get outside a bit and enjoy it.
CS/Q: I tried and failed to temp this cycle so nothing really to see. I got a positive OPK yesterday and have EWCM so I'm thinking today is O day. Planning to HIO tomorrow just in case.
GTKY: (stolen from TWW) What TV shows have you binge watched recently? We are going to try to binge watch the Vietnam War Ken Burns documentary because it goes away from streaming on the 15th. There are 10 episodes and it is 18 hours long, so wish us luck in that endeavor! Before that, I think the last shows I binge watched pretty really quickly were Orange in the New Black and Stranger Things.

@darkstar42 I feel like I should already know this - but what subject area do you teach in again?
@Avrilmai The Monday after vacation is the worst! Hope your workday went fast!
@blackhottamales I have to give "training tours" probably twice a year. We have to hit up all the division meetings within our region - I think I counted 6 for me this month! Tomorrow is the first though
@blackhottamales FX for good timing tonight! Eek to the elastic slip!! Hopefully YH knows your intentions were good!
@shortstack930 Welcome back to the dailies! I hope your day settled down after your crazy morning
@kiwi2628 Glad you got a lazy day today! How was the week with your friend visiting? Also I love Gossip Girl!
@mrsinterweb I LOVE that quote! Now I want to print it and put it on my bedroom or office wall! Thanks for sharing

@blackhottamales that makes sense! Definitely a good idea to go at your own pace and not rush into things if you're not ready yet.
