I was up all night to pee. Like, a crazy amount of times. I peed like three times and then almost peed myself. Not sure why I have to drink all this water when there's clearly a never ending supply of liquid in my body.
Sleep has become a laughable goal every night. Getting comfortable is difficult and then when I get to sleep, I get woken by my super cuddly cat, pawing me in the face, or a direct punch to the bladder.
Weird ass dreams. Last night I dreamt I was stuck on a plane with Hannibal the Cannibal. The previous night I dreamt that John Legend left Chrissy Teigen for me. Whaatttt?! I don’t even think John Legend is all that attractive and I adore Chrissy Teigen. So f’d up. Hormones you suck.
Welp. The leaky boobs have made an appearance. So that’s cool. Thankfully I’ve only noticed it in the tub so hopefully it’s just the heat making things fun for me. Ugh.
Is anyone else having trouble breathing? Yesterday we went to a couple stores to look for shoes cause my work ones are no longer comfortable and DH needs need work shoes. I was having the worst time trying to catch my breath after trying on shoes in the first store. Luckily I found a pair but DH wanted to stop at another store which I figured would have been fine. Holy cow! I felt like an elephant was sitting on me. Thanks kid for laying on my diaphragm. Lol
Yes!! My DH keeps commenting about my "loud breathing" I keep telling him, breathing is hard right now!
AFM.... I haven't gained any weight for the last 3 weeks. On the one hand, this makes me happy since I've gained 35 pounds so far, but...should I be concerned?
@TInman87 I'd try not to worry about weight gain (or lack) in my experience baby weight always comes on in fits and starts, definitely not a pretty .5-1 lb a week!
DS1: Nov. 2013 DS2: Jan. 2016 DS3: Dec. 2017 Baby #4 on the way!
I finally caved yesterday and got some Zantac. Last night was the best sleep I've gotten in a long time, and I was still up for the day at 5am with mild heartburn. I'll take what I can get I guess!
@schaze if I don’t take my Zantac exactly every 12 hours I am in a world of hurt and stomach acid. The first night I took Zantac was the most glorious nights sleep ever. Glad you finally got some relief! I keep telling DH that this kid better come out with a full head of hair because I’ve had heartburn since 5 weeks.
@burnsmommy27 OMG I could have written your post exactly... no interest in dinner because of acid reflux and (sadly) found that ice cream (vegan but still high in fat and sugar) eases acid reflux... so no dinner or nutrients just ice cream. Ugh. Also I have great days and then horrendous days. I wish there was more consistency but suppose I should be happy with the good ones!
@supercoolstephy Right there with you on the leaky boobs. Should be a fun 12+ weeks!
I started going through baby clothes/items last night just to see what I have and what I'll need. DD was born in July and this LO will be a winter baby, so it looks like I have a ton of light summer clothing for baby, but virtually no long sleeves. This, of course, led me to start washing baby clothes. And then baby blankets. And burp cloths. Yes ladies, the nesting continues.
I'm a total Preggo-saurus Rex. I'm cranky ALL.THE.TIME along with restless leg, and trouble breathing. some days I'm good and can do all the things and then some days, I think I deserve a cookie just for putting pants on.
@TInman87, I posted this on another board but I gain in 3-4 lbs spurts then stay around that weight for a few weeks before I go up again. As @KatieEl said I wouldn't worry.
I have the acid reflux (so far Tums have been okay but I might have join the zantac train if it gets worse) and the lower back pain. I'm sitting on a cushion and that helps but I have the most difficulty with going from sitting to standing. Sometimes I walk a bit funny for the first few steps or use something to help me get up (I look like a little old lady). I received a Fibromyalgia diagnosis right before getting pregnant but overall the pain has been less frequent since getting pregnant and I haven't had as much pain in my hands/forearms/elbows But the hip, leg, feet, and shoulder pain are still occurring and seem to increase/decrease from day to day.
@smestadtj I am glad you brought up the shortness of breath. Sometimes I have to lie down to rest my heavy belly. Last night I was in the passenger seat of my car for a 25 minute ride and I could not breath. I was getting anxious thinking something was seriously wrong. Certain sitting positions make it hard for me to breathe. This is semi normal right?
Short of breath here too. I've been getting out of breath from climbing stairs, which is awkward in a 3 level townhouse. I feel fine running up from the basement but then I have to sit on the bed for a couple minutes til my heart stops pounding.
A bit of heartburn too but nothing Tums can't handle. I remember when we got DS on Zantac for reflux and it was like instant magic relief for him.
I'm still dealing with the jaggy hip thing too. It's generally ok but like today I tried to pick up my right leg to roll to the left and just... couldn't do it.
All the feels ladies for the leg cramps and shortness of breath! I thought it was because I'm out of shape LOL Some days I'm good, MOST days lately I can't do much but work 6:30-5 and come home and crash. You all DON'T want to see my house. OY! We have less than 9-11 weeks left over here and I can just imagine what more will come. I need sleep. But between a belly, leg cramps, sore lower back, and heartburn I'm lucky just to get up out of bed at 5am most days.
I'm with y'all on shortness of breath -- it mostly rears its ugly head when I'm going uphill or up stairs. Given that I work in the basement, I keep try to avoid climbing stairs with other people so I don't have witnesses, lol. Given that I'd fallen out of the habit of running before I got pregnant, it's not like I was in great shape at that point anyway, so I've been assuming it's a combo of a baby crowding my lungs and being out of shape.
Otherwise: anyone else's baby using their bladder as a trampoline? Every now and then I'll get a very sudden OH NO PEEING TIME sensation as (I assume) the wee baby here decides to jump on my bladder.
@scatteringashes I don't feel a ton of movement because of the anterior placenta, but I notice that the fuller my bladder gets, the busier she gets in there.
@supercoolstephy Same. I tend to try to put off getting up to go to the bathroom, but as far as I can tell, the baby does not like sharing her space with my bladder. (Or anything else that encroaches on her room. When I lay on my side at night, she kicks the bed.)
I've been feeling some pain below my right rib cage for a few days, and off and on for weeks. It doesn't feel like stretching for a baby or RLP so I'm not quite sure what it is. Probably nothing.
I'm also short of breath. People keep commenting on how loud I'm breathing. Sorry can't help it!
Also just starting to feel generally sluggish. I have the janky hip thing sometimes where it's like, nope, lifting this leg to (get out of the car usually) is not going to happen right now.
@supercoolstephy@GraceUponGrace09 - I've been having this too and I casually mentioned it to my OB at my last appointment thinking it was just some sort of growing pain or something (I'm a FTM so I've got no clue on these things) and she's actually concerned it could be something with my liver, gallbladder, or an infection even though I don't have any other symptoms. She did blood work and my liver is clear but she's having me keep a food journal to see if there are any triggers there since greasy foods can make your gallbladder act up. If mine keeps going she's going to have an ultrasound done on my gallbladder and she's making me come back in 2 weeks instead of 4. So it could be nothing but it could also be something you want to just mention to your doctor just in case.
Sooooooo tired. Granted, I'm on vacation, and we've been go, go, going every single day, so that could be the culprit! In the last three days, I've hiked, kayaked, and snorkeled pretty much all day every day. My muscles are screaming. I sent DH on an 11 mile hike this morning while I slept in. TEN glorious hours of sleep. I haven't done that since before DD was born. And I'm STILL tired.
@GraceUponGrace09@gusgus14 I ended up calling my OB and spoke to her nurse and they asked me to get my blood pressure checked and if it was 140/90 or higher to call them back. It was 138/85 but I still called because that's pretty close and if nothing else, something to keep an eye on. They said it might be growing pains... but I really can't imagine where it's happening being growing pains.
@supercoolstephy my doctor did tell me upper abdominal pain could be a pre-E sign. Did they say it was ok?
I think what I am having is some kind of growing pain, it's like a stabbing feeling behind my belly button, and then a pulled muscle stretch feeling from the top to the bottom of my belly.
@auntieraindrop they called me back and said it was fine but to keep an eye on it. So I will. I've started to notice some pre-E symptoms here or there but nothing too bad. I'm still going to watch and see how things go. Last time I had the symptoms, minus the BP and protein in my urine. So I wasn't pre-E. My mom was with all three of us kids so I try to be considerate of things.
I'm in the shortness of breath camp, even when I'm not moving sometimes. Hate it. I feel like the glory days of this pregnancy are over. I have acid reflux (I think...basically feels like I couldn't quite swallow a pill most of the time), somehow blew up over the last week (a woman told me, "bless your heart, I also had an October baby - WHAT?!), and sleeping is uncomfortable and occasionally painful. I need every minute until this baby comes but have no idea how I'm going to make it 13 more weeks! Oh, and I had to take my belly button ring out yesterday because the skin was stretching so much, I thought it was going to rip.
@supercoolstephy glad you're proactive about the pre-e stuff! Keep taking care of yourself.
@cyanope so glad you're enjoying Hawaii and soaking up all of that sunshine!
