Any appointments or tests coming up? A/S next week
How are you feeling mentally/physically? We still haven;t made an official "facebook" post about our pregnancy. I am hoping some of the PGAL brain will ease up after the A/S and maybe we will then. I am starting to feel flutters, so that is helping my stress!
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
GTKY: What's the last book you read? I read children's book all day every day--bc teaching preschool is the best job ever. But for myself--I read a book about Rick Ankiel (baseball player) who struggled mentally and made an MLB comeback. I was a huge fan of his, so I enjoy reading about his journey. It's not a book I would normally read.

Any appointments or tests coming up?
We had the anatomy scan last week. I cried during it because I was so happy that everything is okay.
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
I'm exhausted both mentally and physically.
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
We haven't made it fb official yet and I'm really hesitant to. Anyone else feeling this way? DH is so excited to tell the world and I keep asking him to wait a little longer... but I'm not exactly sure what I'm waiting for.
GTKY: What's the last book you read? Toddlers are a**holes
It's really funny.. and true!
Feeling her move is seriously the best!
@ash0625 I am glad you scan went well! Reading those words, "I'm finally starting to feel like I am going to take a baby home with me in February" made me tear up. I honestly don't think I have had that thought and actually believed it, yet. Hopefully seeing a healthy baby next week will make that more real!

How are you feeling mentally/physically?
overall im feeling really good like PP said feeling movement is reassuring. Still having some anxiety over ultrasound but ready for it.
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
rant here: I hate how people think and make comments about finding out the sex during the anatomy scan. Like they think that it is the most important part or the main reason for even having the scan. I will love a boy or girl, just show me my healthy baby please!
GTKY: What's the last book you read?
It seems we have a theme here.
"How Toddlers Thrive" I am really interested in child.development and it has helped my understand the "terrible twos" and it made me more prepared to handle meltdowns.
20 weeks tomorrow
Any appointments or tests coming up?
A/S is this afternoon, kind of nervous about it but hoping to see a healthy baby girl (already know sex, had the genetic testing in first tri)
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
Physically I’m in the sweet spot of 2nd tri so I’m feeling really good for now. Over the morning sickness and not big enough to be uncomfortable so trying to get as much done as possible while it lasts! Mentally I’m mostly good, definitely feel a little less connected to this pregnancy since I have a toddler to distract me and it’s not my first PGAL pregnancy, but I’m hoping today’s scan will help me really realize we’re really having a baby!
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
No, just hoping our insurance issues get worked out. So far we’ve had to pay OOP for everything and haven’t been able to secure coverage so it’s starting to make me nervous that we won’t get this figured out before delivery. But we’ll manage, just might be super in debt
ETA Bump ate my post. I don’t remember the last adult book I read, I have a toddler and read board books all day!

we had our a/s last week and baby was so wiggly they couldn’t get all the views they needed so we are going back in a week for another try. Good news is we found out we’re having another little boy!
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
I’m feeling good - feeling baby move a ton which is amazing!
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
I inherited my sisters snoogle and I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in 20 weeks!
GTKY: What's the last book you read?
‘Small Great Things’ by Jodi Picoult and I cannot day enough great things about it!

Any appointments or tests coming up?
3rd AS (2 w/ MFM and 1 w/ OB) was yesterday and went well. Next OB appt is 10/23. She'll do another US the following week and then it's back to MFM for yet another scan in mid-November.
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
Still super tired but better overall. I do have days where I get morning bursts of energy so that's nice. The clumsy stage has officially kicked in for me and I fell down the stairs last week. I had a sore hind end for a few days but no other problems, thankfully.
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
I'm thrilled that my weight gain is on track to this point but am *SO* tired of being told I don't even look pregnant. I have a bump that I'm sure is more noticeable to me than others b/c I'm so in tune to the many ways my body is changing but I can't believe they don't see anything. It makes me think I look fat instead of pregnant and I'm over it!
GTKY: What's the last book you read?
The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Potzsch. It wasn't the best thing I've ever read but was free in the Kindle store so I took a chance.

Any appointments or tests coming up?
We have our anatomy scan Friday. Both DH and I have taken the day off.
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
I feel pretty good with the occasional pgal anxiety, physically I feel like I've been pregnant forever since this is my 2nd pregnancy within the year, and I've gained a lot
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
I'm with you ladies and will feel much better once we get through the anatomy scan. I've been trying to keep busy and keep my mind preoccupied. We haven't announced on Facebook either but I've been telling a lot more people than last pregnancy.
GTKY: What's the last book you read? what to expect when you're expecting but I'm not a big book reader

Any appointments or tests coming up? Just had my AS so back to regular monthly OB visits
How are you feeling mentally/physically? Tired. I cannot sleep at all. I lay on my side and wake up on my back then switch sides back and forth because my hips are killing me sleeping on my side. I use my pregnancy pillow but it doesn't seem to be working.
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns? Not this week. Glad someone remembered this thread though! I keep forgetting!
GTKY: What's the last book you read? Currently reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

Any appointments or tests coming up? I had my a/s with the perinatologist last Friday. All looked great. I go back in 12 weeks and then may start BPPs when I hit 34 weeks.
How are you feeling mentally/physically? I usually feel temporary reassurance after good visits, but never really out of the woods, and it stays the way until I give birth. Physically, still deal with heartburn, but the meds help. Backaches/hip pain when sleeping and lots of tossing and turning.
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns? I don't quite look pregnant yet, but I'm more fluffy this time, and I'm tall with a long torso. I tend to hide them really well.
GTKY: What's the last book you read? The Hate U Give.

Any appointments or tests coming up?
None this week. My next OB appt. is on Oct. 19th
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
I think I'm starting to feel 'better' mentally. Not so much physically though. For most of this pregnancy I've had this ridiculous hacking cough/post nasal drip thing going. I've been takin Claritin at the instruction of my OB but it doesn't help as much as I would have liked. The coughing starts this whole gagging/throwing up cycle that I was hoping would be over with but here I am over halfway to my due date and it's still happening. Other than Claritin and the Netty Pot (which I HATE) I'm pretty much out of ways to prevent the post nasal drip/cough/gag/puke cycle.
As for mentally....
*TW* (loss mentioned)--not sure if I need the trigger warning here but better safe than sorry!
Back in 2016, I found out I was pregnant for the second time on Christmas Day. Later that day, we took my son to my FIL's house to drop off Christmas presents. I was prepping an area of their bed to change a diaper and my step MIL was 'watching' my son. While she 'watched' him, he managed to turn a doorknob and open their basement door then fall when she caught him climbing down the stairs. In my heart, I know it was a complete accident but I couldn't help but blame her for what happened. Luckily, he didn't land on his head or break anything (THANK GOD) but I was super angry at how irresponsible she had been. Fast forward to a week later...and I started clotting and bleeding. Went to my doctor to find out my hormone levels were very low and I was experiencing a chemical pregnancy. I know this happens to so many women, it really emotionally threw me out of whack for a long time and even now, I'm super anxious. I don't think I'll truly 'relax' until I'm holding a baby in my arms.

Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
No questions or concerns here. I do have a rave! I really appreciate how welcoming this community has been toward me since I made my intro post yesterday. I just want to say you ladies are awesome :-D
GTKY: What's the last book you read?
Last book I finished was "Two by Two" by Nicolas Sparks. I don't know that I'd recommend it. I usually read his stuff cause it's gushy/romantic/happy etc. but this book was actually about the breakdown of a marriage and co-parenting/single parenting with an ex. I found it to be a frustrating read for the majority of the novel, but the ending actually made reading the book sort of worth it.
Sorry about your CP. I am so glad you are having a good pregnancy so far--PGAL brain is hard. I understand your feelings about not feeling truly relieved until that baby is in your arms. I also read "Two By Two" this summer. It wasn't my favorite Nicolas Spark book, but thought it was worth the read.
How far along are you?
19w 4 days (I think lol)
Any appointments or tests coming up?
Follow up ultrasound to get additional measurements and to make sure placenta is moving up.
How are you feeling mentally/physically?
Exhausted on both fronts. I was doing real estate with my mom but due to low inventory in our area most of my clients put off buying and she basically fired me because I wasn't selling enough to cover the fees and now she still gripes at me about her finances and it's making me crazy.... also dropped a can of spray paint on my big toe today and running around after a 2 year old with a hurt foot while pregnant SUCKS!
Any Questions/Rants/Raves/Concerns?
I feel like although I have not been as active with this pregnancy (was definitely more with my first) I feel very fortunate that this seems like a solid group of ladies who will be an amazing support to one another as time goes on. Not really a question or concern, but I figured worth noting since several other moms from my first pregnancy weren't so lucky with their new group (LOTS OF DRAMA)
Edited cause I'm not sure why it deleted the book question....
Last book I read:
Last actual book was Where is MoMo cause well I only ever read toddler books anymore and the last adult book was probably Good Omens (one of my absolute favorites that I have reread so many times I've lost count lol).
I'm sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Loss is so hard and it's tough to make your brain stop doubting and second guessing. We're all here to empathize and help though. Here's to a happy & healthy 9 months and to some relief from that cough!
@magnolia305 Thanks for the kudos and the support! I was hoping I was doing things right! I agree that "Two by Two" was a worthwhile read and being a writer myself, I can sympathize with why the author wrote the book after he went through a divorce himself. I felt the subject matter was definitely worthwhile, I think the style of writing with the stream of consciousness/first person narrative/no real dialogue thing was most bothersome!
@ash0625 I feel the same way about my pregnancy pillow. I end up on my back even if I start out sleeping on my side 'cuddling' it. My husband thinks I'm ridiculous because I use four or five pillows now when I'm sleeping!
