@KatieEl So sorry about the PUPPS! Sounds miserable. I hope your case is super mild!
@jcbh2018 Sorry about the pain. I don't have any advice but hope you find relief soon!
@burnsmommy27 Have you tried CALM? I really like it and it has done wonders for my leg cramps as well as helping me sleep. I highly recommend if you haven't tried yet.
Whoever else was complaining about hemis- I picked up a tube of prep H cooling gel. I like it so much better than the original formula. Highly recommend!
@jcbh2018 I promise you aren’t hurting LO. He/she is totally
safe in there and super cushioned from any normal activity/weird stretching. I had those sharp
pains (lightning crotch and RLP) during my first pregnancy too… try to think of
it as a sign that your body is getting ready for this little one!
@supercoolstephy Bless you for stepping onto a scale. I just can’t. I actually turn around at the doctor so I don't see the number and only ask what I gained. I don't need to fixate on that lol. But yay for the pleasant surprise!
I feel just awful. Pelvic girdle and back pain, zero energy, raging bitch moodiness, overall crappy feeling. Working twice as much as usual and really feeling it. Also having some intense desire to nest, but no time with which to do so. Trying to post more often, but I'm such a buzzkill that I don't even like myself right now.
@burnsmommy27 - DH has taken to sleeping in the guest room on the nights that i'm turning a lot, cause i'm feeling like Shamu too! lol. Leg cramps...i woke up the other day and the muscles were all seized up and they're still sore...I've some of those ThermaCare pads that stick to your skin (for shoulders or PMS cramps, etc) and put them on my calves yesterday afternoon and took them off at bedtime, and today they feel SO much better! This morning I also did a quasi-sitz bath in the tub (filled it a bit less than half way so my belly wouldn't be submerged cause i wanted the water a bit hotter than "allowed") and put in epsom salts and soaked for about 10-15 min. It may be all mental, but I felt like that also helped relax the muscles!
I am so tired, and my focus is shot. Which is a shame, because my to-do list for classes is humongous. (Which, to be fair, might be part of the reason I'm not focusing well -- total avoidance and overwhelmingness.)
Whoever else was complaining about hemis- I picked up a tube of prep H cooling gel. I like it so much better than the original formula. Highly recommend!
@caseyw8784 not yet, my case is bad but not "severe" and I think they only prescribe it for the most severe cases. Really hoping some of the other remedies suggested help enough I can avoid the steroid cream.
Thanks to everyone else for all the love. Not going to lie, this totally sucks. And I'm sure spending the past 6 hours at the fair in the heat with my kids did not help the situation.
DS1: Nov. 2013 DS2: Jan. 2016 DS3: Dec. 2017 Baby #4 on the way!
I'm so tired all the time! Work is overwhelming and stressful due to too much on a growing to-do list. Acid reflux is happening but less than it was a few weeks ago. Back/tailbone pain comes and goes. My seat cushion seems to help one day then not the next.
It's a rollercoaster of symptoms. Hugs to everyone as symptoms suck, luckily babies are cute!
@mamakassie2 This is just the place to come if you are feeling like a raging, annoying bi*@#, because each one of us is also one at least a few times a week. I like how you put the feeling the urge to nest without time to do so... that is PRECISELY how I feel. I'm worried the only time I'll have to do it will be Thanksgiving break, and I'm pretty sure I'll have lots to do then... Hugs!
AFM: Hello, Acid Reflux! Thank you so much for coming after I shared a small clementine with DD. That totally makes sense. I had maybe three pieces and yet, here you are, four hours later going strong!
I'm glad I'm not the only one starting to feel that nesting urge -- seems to early for it? Like, I wanna wash everything and I want everything in place so that I look around, I see exactly where and how the baby fits into our life... And also I want to not do that at the same time? It's weird.
I've also become deeply invested in a better cleaning routine. I'm a pretty mediocre housewife in the cleaning department, lol.
@scatteringashes me!!! You should see my notes app.. I have lists for deep cleaning stuff I already cleaned out our master bedroom closet. I feel like it’s wayyyyy too early for me to be nesting this hard
@mamakassie2 Yes to all the feelings. I was telling a few friends tonight how moody/grouchy/emotional I've been the last little while. So, not fun. I feel like I'm continually apologizing to my kids for snapping at them.
To all nesting... I am feeling it to. I have to stop myself from washing all DS's baby stuff already. I wonder if it's bc we found out it's a boy and last time we were team green? So now I'm like, I'm having a boy, I have to get ready!!
If I say I'm extra bitchy to people I don't want them nodding along. Eff them.
I am extremely moody. And really weepy. I just came home from storming out of a gelato place because I thought my family was laughing at me. They weren't. I threw my ice cream at a brick wall and cried in the middle of the sidewalk.
+1 for crappy sleep lately. The toddler decided 4:45am was playtime and was chattering in his crib-usually doesn't happen so I'll give him a pass for now. But between this baby kicking my bladder and a snoring husband I'm up a few times a night. Wahhhhh
I am a Grumpasaurus Rex over here. just cranky, heartburn galore, and this kid is already sitting on my sciatic nerve and makes my leg go numb. Also- anyone else in the mega red armpits club? cause the past few days, my pits look like they are on FIRE! not itchy, but dang, they are red.
Add me to the nesting train! Nursery is almost completely done, glider is being delivered today. Wall decor is the only outstanding thing that I haven't planned/finished. I have taken out my ginormous ziploc bags of DD's clothes and I plan on going through them. I, too, am fighting the urge to wash and put away. Trying to hold off until 30 weeks.
I'm super tired all the time, like giant yawns all day long, and heartburn has started. DS thinks my Tums are candy and keeps asking for some. (Maybe I should give him one, maybe it would put a damper on his begging for candy 24/7.) Most annoying though is this lower back/butt thing that I've had for weeks but it's getting worse recently. Basically if I'm laying down and I go to move my legs, I can't do it or it hurts, unless I turn it into a full-body movement. I am a flail whale. Is that a sciatic nerve thing??
@bainidhedub Sciatic nerve pain tends to start at your butt and shoot down your leg. What you're experiencing sounds like what a few of us are dealing with and that's more of a pelvis/hip issue. My chiropractor said that my hip is falling out of whack, which is what makes it so sore and painful when you try to get up from laying down (that's when it hurts most for me too and I usually have to fling my entire side over to get up). When I'm getting adjusted at the chiropractor I DEFINITELY feel it when I lay on my stomach and he puts pressure on my hips. He recommended icing it regularly, and also said to make sure that when I'm sleeping I'm not throwing my right leg too far over the pregnancy pillow because this throws my right hip forward; he said I need to make sure the pillow is between my legs and they are even, rather than having the right leg over the pillow only.
@missblaze Yeah that sounds more like it. The most annoying part is that it feels like it would be better if I could get something in there to pop, but how tf do you pop the side of your butt? You can't, there's no joints in there.
@missblaze I sated my want-to-wash feelings (mostly) by putting everything away. I'm going to try to start the washing routine right before/after Christmas -- I'll be home from work then and have plenty of time to dominate the washer while the husband and roomie are at work. I'll be about 37 weeks pregnant at that point, though, and I don't know if I'll want to put it off that long.
I'm also feeling the itch to start setting up easy meal planning for those first few weeks, and practice freezing stuff, etc.
@bainidhedub Yup, that's exactly how I feel - like something needs to pop. But no, it's just relaxin loosening up ligaments and bones and making it much easier for joints to get thrown out of whack. Ugh.
@scatteringashes Yes, I can't wait that long haha. I had DD at 36 weeks and want to be prepared JIC that happens again. I'll probably go through and sort everything and then wash everything around 30-32 weeks.
DDs due date was Feb 3 and this time my due date is Feb 1. After Christmas and New Years, I feel like I sat down on my couch and next thing I knew I was getting induced! I wasn’t comfortable anymore past New Years to do any cleaning so I’m giving myself Christmas as a deadline to have our baby area in our bedroom ready.
Last time I didn’t even have time to buy burp cloths or baby mittens, thank goodness my cousin and MIL brought those as gifts when baby was born. Our nursery still had boxes and boxes of baby shower gifts too.
I don't have the urge to get baby stuff set up yet. Just to gut and organize every closet/cupboard in my house. It's not like things are even THAT dis-organized. I just told DH that I want to go invest in a few hundred dollars worth of storage bins so that I can organize and label ALL of the things. DH was working OT the other night, and when he got home after midnight, he found me cleaning out my drawers. I didn't feel this way with DD. I just wanted to get her nursery ready...but since this LO will be sharing the same room, I guess this need to organize is an alternative form of nesting!
I was just informed by a male co-worker (who only comes in like once a month) that my newest symptom is that I apparently am "waddling already." Pretty sure it has to do with the back pain, but, thanks for the info, random co-worker.
I’m usually not a clean freak, and let me clarify that I’m still not but I’m getting the itch to organize things and pick up my bedroom. The rooms are already being used, so DH needs to build bunk beds and then we can paint the bedrooms and move DS into sharing with my stepson, who is here ever other weekend. Then I can start thinking about her room.
Also, I’m not washing anything yet. We didn’t wear nearly half of the clothes that I bought so I’m planning to buy a small amount of newborn/0-3 months and then wash about half at first. Keep tags on so I can return whatever is not worn or used.
I feel like straight garbage tonight. Between RLP, SPD and gas my whole mid section feels like it may burst Alien style. Baby is extra active too, so that weirdness. I just want to go to bed. DH has a friend over, house is a disaster area, DS bath time set up still all out and I don't even give two shits. I am exhausted. FML.
@egirl1025 I feel you! DD has been teething since last Friday (her little canine teeth are coming out) and it’s been horrible! That plus lack of sleep and lower back pain for me, I can’t even tell you how many times we both cried today! Tomorrow will be better though
Let's see. My hips hurt and I am so sleepy today! But also, DH told me yesterday that I "still look pretty damn hot" and said that from where he can tell, its all belly, so that was a big morale booster. Hands down, my biggest symptom is that I have zero patience with other people's stress and drama. I. Do. Not. Care.
My back is absolutely killing me because I’ve been sleeping on a shitty hotel bed for a week. I’m so over it and want a real bed back. Not to mention it’s full size and DH is 6’3”... I didnt realize they still made adult beds in full size. I wake up because I hit him every time I roll over and vice versa. Ugh.
