I made DD a tooth fairy pillow just a couple of weeks ago. I have a skirt up next and then a blanket for DS before I get to the new baby blanket. Joanns gets way too much of my money.
I love home decor / home improvement stuff! We recently bought a house and have done all the work ourselves. Almost done with the kitchen- painted the cabinets and tile backsplash. Just working on doing the countertops. I just made my first wreath! I need to add more flowers, but this is it so far.
@tincupchalice I want one now. I'm a painter and started a series of animal busts for the nursery. I know I defineitly want to do woodland theme.
You're an art teacher right? My dream for a long time was to be a high school art teacher. By high school the kids that take art care about art. And elementary wasn't enough of a challenge to me. Middle schoolers are just too hard. So that was my dream. I haven't painted in a while though. I need to start again.
I am living for this thread! I love anything crafty if you haven't guessed from my name. I'm a big cross stitcher among other things and have been trying to teach myself to crochet with no luck for months now. @justsuzie I am in love with that painting, you are so talented!
(Edited because I'm dumb and tried to do a sassy lady emoji)
@sparkymcgeee Hard to find motivation to pain after teaching art all day...I like my job but I am in upper elementary school (5/6) where the kids are still excited about art and they can actually do a lit too. I really didn't like elementary. @Poppy0419@CraftyG Thanks!
You ladies put my crafting to shame! I did just get a Silhouette Cricut and have been making fun shirts for myself, my kids, and my nephews. Fx this is a viable pregnancy so I can wear a fun Halloween and Thanksgiving shirts! I dogs recently make a dollar store fall wreath I'm proudly displaying.
I dabble into a little bit of everything. Give me a glue gun and I will transform my house ha. One thing I have been busying myself with to keep creative juices flowing is painting rocks. It's something that's quick and fun and I love that it brings joy to others when I hide them. I'm sure the rock painting trend is big everywhere.
I've just finished my first ever crochet project! It's just an infinity scarf but it's warm and cozy and the first crochet thing I've been able to actually finish so I'm super proud right now. (Please ignore the pyjamas)
So real talk... I'm making the centerpieces for my wedding. I'm obviously going to glue the bottoms of the candles so they aren't in there all weird. I'm also going to do ombré black to silver glitter over the bottles themselves. My question is, should I just give up on the beads? (Also, my house is a wreck. Please excuse le boxes)
I paint, sketch, knit, crochet and do graphic design so I'm trying to wrap my head around nursery decor and blankets/baby accessories. I bit off more than I could chew with DS so now I'm weighing out what I can get done this time around... when I'm not chasing my toddler or working or sleeping so you know... the 30 spare minutes I have in a day
I don't know what I'm doing baby-wise yet, but I've made jewelry, chainmaille, some paintings, I've recently gotten into hand lettering, I make candy/bake and used to do cake decorating (a terrible wedding cake incident retired me for now lol), I've done floral design semi-professionally for years, I've done event planning, I spin yarn (still a work in progress and I need to fix my spinning wheel), I've sewn a little, I did quilt for a bit, my sister sells (or at least used to... not sure how long it's been) Froebelstern- they're folded/woven paper or folded/woven ribbon stars so I've made them with her for some time now, I make bows most of which were done as custom Christmas tree toppers, I make my own lip balms and have made some sugar scrubs... I'm sure there are others but pregnancy brain so that's all i've got right now lol

Wow! I love to craft, but not a lot of time for it these days.
Also, this kid totally has 5th child syndrome. We might get a crib before they're born- but I'm pretty sure the rest we will just make do with whatever I can find around here. We have had about 10 kids under 1 in the last 3 years here. I stopped decorating and went to the basics a long time ago. (This does make it easy to be team green when you have no plans of any prior preparations...)
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
I knit, crochet and sew. I am currently working on the biggest afghan ever! Once it's done, it will be big enough for a king size bed. I'll be using it as a newborn photography backdrop. My most recent finished knitting project:
The very early stages of my Pom Pom rug which is going to take a while at this rate but hey I figure I've got plenty of time before baby comes! Can't wait to see the rest of your little projects Mummas
You ladies are all so talented/skilled!! I have nothing to add whatsoever. Craft time in my house equals marker and crayon scribbles. Thank goodness for Etsy so I can spruce up my own home!!! But truly, you all are amazing.
I love all your projects!! This year I've knitted a few things for my expecting friends, especially ones who've been through infertility and loss. I ended up stitching a cream heart on the beige/cream rug similar to the black/white rug. The blue/orange yarn I to 1x skien from a farmers market and just gave it my girlfriend for her new fall baby!
The grey knitted booties are the one thing I knitted our little babe when we were in Switzerland 6 months ago just starting all the IF treatment. I made the pattern myself, it's got a little ribbed top. I plan to knit our babe a grey onesie the same as the one here I gave my friend (matches the booties!)
