I babywear a lot with a moby but I don't like to wake my sleeping babies so that's why I'll use an infant seat for the first year. I baby wear to walk/cook/shop/playground etc... I also want a kinderpack for next summer for this LO for hiking!
Originally I was sold on the Nuna Pipa and either the Nuna Mixx or Tavo strollers however they're pricey. We don't live in a city and don't walk a lot so I really don't need an expensive stroller like that.
I was registered for the Baby Jogger City Mini and their new infant seat however BRU didn't have a floor model to see. I didn't like the lack of padding on the Britax infant seat so it's now a Chicco Keyfit and the City Mini. I like how the stroller folds and it's relatively small. It also felt really stable in the store whereas some other ones (like Chicco Urban stroller) felt like they'd snap into pieces.
The biggest thing to check if you're starting out with a convertible is if it can recline enough for the newborn position in your car, which needs to be deeper than the normal rear facing. We bought 3 new Diono Radians when I was pregnant with my twins because they got across the backseat of our Prius. But as my husband and I are both tall we couldn't get the seats to recline enough so ended up buying two Chicco infant seats for the start and then transitioning to the Radians later.
This is about to become relevant! Anyone interested in more info about common car seat mistakes? (Including taking yours to a fire department or police department and assuming they are certified to check seats...?)
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24 Thanks for sharing. We signed up for a short car seat safety class at our hospital because it is free. I would like to think their info will be up to date, but we will see.
We are borrowing the chicco keyfit from SIL just to get us through the winter. We have a graco 4ever for my car. And I want to get the graco size4me for DHs car. It's on sale right now through the military and figure hell be in my car more anyway.
I plan on babywearing and don't want to bring the seat anywhere with me but having him right around thanksgiving I do want the option to at least be able to bring the seat in and out.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a double stroller? There seems to be so many options but all of the decent looking ones seem so expensive compared to the singles.
I'd recommend getting a sit n stand. You can attach most infant seats to the stand part and use the sit part for your older child until baby gets to be big enough to sit up.

Don't forget that the weight of the seat and child need to be combined!

I don’t think I realized you weren’t supposed to use latches and the belt. I thought the matches were just extra security. I don’t have the latch hooks in my car or the anchor hooks so it is not an option.
