  • Number of c-sections? Only 1

Reason for c-section(s)? Baby was face first and wouldn't drop

What was recovery like for you? Hospital was torture, I have a bit of ptsd just because the treatment I endured from the nurses. I wasn't given any pain meds until the 2nd day of recovery. Forced to stand even repetitively telling them I'm going to pass out. They had to use smelling salts on me. Also instead of a stool softener, they gave me a stimulator I didn't need..i basically ran up my steps when I got home...

Planning to RCS or VBAC? Vbac with a different Dr.

Tips for dealing with recovery at home? Sleep in a recliner.

Advice to someone having their first csection? What's important is the baby.

Planning on getting tubes tied? No

Lets bring a positive - favorite part of a csection? Sorry nothing positive in my experience.

Reason for c-section(s)? Doctor went on vacation at noon and at 10:30 I was progressing and almost ready to push, but my schedule didn't match his so he said "emergency" and forced a csection. In recovery (I was put under general anesthesia cos I'd been all natural med free), the nurses told me he had gone on vacay and it wasn't an emergency after all and this other doc would be taking care of me for the remainder of my stay.
What was recovery like for you? Long and painful. We moved to a town 3 hrs away from everyone we knew a week after he was born, so I pushed myself too hard and ended up needing the full 12 weeks to recover.
Planning to RCS or VBAC? Vbac all the way!
Tips for dealing with recovery at home? Be sure your husband/SO or someone will be there to help you cos it is hard to get up.
Advice to someone having their first csection? I suppose if you're mentally prepared for it and you aren't lied to, it's fine. Just be aware that its major surgery and not the "easy way out"!
Planning on getting tubes tied? Nope.
Questions/Worries? I'm at a different practice now and they'd diagnosed me with postnatal ptsd, so I had therapy for that. They know my history, so hopefully the vbac will go well. They've assured me I'm a good candidate.
Lets bring a positive - favorite part of a csection? Releasing my anger after having therapy.

    Hello,
I have booked my RCS on my due date as I told my doctor I don't want to go over 40 weeks. It's just that I do want to give a chance to normal delivery but I don't want to risk having a big baby, it's like I am a bit more scared of normal delivery because I haven't experienced it at all, not even a single contraction. Hmmm let's see what happens! Although I am dreading RCS's recovery, my God! It was pure agony!!
    Xx
  • @ShreyaR I'm nervous as well! I hope you get your VBAC!
  • Repeat section booked for Oct. 11th...very excited
  • So I went back and dug through all these and I will say thank y'all for the piece of mind. Just found out yesterday that our little girl is very breeched and it would take her moving around the placenta to get into position, manually doing this is too dangerous and the doctor doesn't think she will be able to do it on her own given the position. So I am now scheduled for my c-section October 3rd, at exactly 39 weeks.
