I've been begging. Begging. BEGGING. DH to make me a grilled cheese for the past three days, because that's all I want but yet I'm too exhausted to stand at the stove for how long it would take to make it. But no, he won't. The man thinks I've done this twice before fine and I'm "barely pregnant." . So instead, I settled on slice n bake chocolate chip cookies and milk for dinner, because that also sounded good. But then they came out wierd in my unreliable oven and were flat and crispy and tasted gross when I tried them. So, having milk for dinner.
I just roasted zucchini, yellow squash, potatos, and salmon for dinner, that I'm going to have with dill yogurt sauce. Definitely should have roasted the zucchini/squash linger, but screw it, I'm hungry.
@Guillerma I highly recommend a panini press or a grilled cheese maker. frankly, even not pregnant I'm too lazy to stand at the stove to make them, and I'm just bad at it on the stove without having to stand there a scrape the burn off the outside lol

I know this sounds strange or gross or whatever but use mayo instead of butter and it won't burn. It gives it just the right crispyness and the cheese is perfectly melty. It's genius I tell you.
Made oatmeal this morning for breakfast and the minute I pressed "START" on the microwave, I knew I didn't want it. Trashed it for some toast with butter and jelly. No regrets.

This is the method I use too and it makes grilled cheese PERFECT! Make sure you use real mayo though, not miracle whip

@sparkymcgeee@mrsmtothek omg I just heard about this on facebook the other day! I haven't tried it yet but it makes perfect sense to me. Mayo has so many alternative uses, it really doesn't get the love it deserves! I still love when people tell me they hate dressings/dips that contain mayo, but they looooove the more expensive versions that are made with eggs and oil.... it's the same thing! lol

All this talk about grilled cheese has got me having that for dinner tonight. Same thing happened with my last bmb... Everyone was talking about cereal all the time, and I ended up eating so much of it! I don't even like cereal... I do like grilled cheese though, so there is that.
We had pizza and wings for dinner last night, so of course i had to have cold pizza for breakfast I haven't had much nausea or aversions yet, but I think am a little behind with a due date towards the end of May. I am having cravings for basically all things bad. @ceridwen77 I'm jealous your LO eats anything. We are in a super picky phase with DS, the only thing he wants to eat (drink) are the dannon drinkable yogurts.
I know I'm super lucky that she eats pretty much anything. It makes meal prep and meal times so much easier. I just hope it lasts and that she doesn't get picky. I was a super picky eater as a child but now I love all the food, though!
Just like last time, salads are quickly losing their appeal. That was the one thing I could NOT stand when it came to food and looks like it's going to take that title again.
@sparkymcgeee@mrsmtothek This may sound gross but I made a FAUX grilled cheese with vegan mayo and cheese and it was delicious. Way better than what I usually do.

You're right it does sound gross but I'm glad you found an alternative you can enjoy. Lol
I really, really, really, really want cheese enchiladas with that smokey red sauce and melted cheese with sour cream where they kind of collapse on themselves, and flaky tortilla chips with just a touch too salty guacamole. And I'd like black beans on the side, kinda mushy, not to eat, but just so their flavor seeps into the enchilada sauce.
Also I'd like some jalapeno cornbread. I'm going to be huge.
I went and got a salad today for lunch. Usually I can just pick out the tomatoes and be fine. Today, I opened up my salad, picked them all out and felt a serious aversion to them. Like the smell of them was just awful. Then I started eating my salad and I tasted tomato. I must have had seeds on my piece of lettuce and I nearly lost it. I don't know if I can finish it now.
Good thing I also picked up a peach (because healthy) and a rice krispy treat from the bakery (because yum and pregnant).
Tomatoes have been tough for me, too. Cooked ones, anyway. Pasta sauce, pizza sauce, blech. Although I was fine with salsa a few weeks ago, so who knows?

I'm making red chile sauce this weekend (from some chile peppers my family member brought back from Albuquerque)! Going to make some enchiladas and posole. SO EXCITEDDDDDD. I'll send you some.
Dinner tonight was BOMB! I did balsamic vinegaret on chicken thighs and red potatoes in the crockpot, with sautéed almond, garlic, spinach. Omg so good!!!!
Tonight's dinner is cheese tortellini with a butternut squash cheese sauce and spinach. It's a hit in this house. My husband requests this meal and he hates squash!

Umm I'm gonna need that recipe! I have some butternut squash sitting in the bottom of my fridge rn that I was thinking about making into a soup, but that sounds loads better.
French fries with ketchup is my dream meal.. I had them before nausea and after POAS and it was heaven. I make myself have a fresh veggie/fruit juice every day, some toast, salad. We're ordered in a lot this week since I am not up to eating or cooking, and I did relay enjoy the fried rice we got last night.
We have a long standing reservation for a VERY nice restaurant this Saturday, degustation 10+ courses. Dining with hubby, a friend and 3 of her colleagues. It's fine everyone there knows I'm PG - my friend knows. But the issue is the only booking she could get was 9:30pm. I'm usual asleep by 7/8 and nauseous some evenings, so here's hoping I can nap and prep myself for it haha. They usually serve small portions timed well, and it's quite fresh and healthy so it might work out okay. I gave them my list of pregnancy restrictions, they asked when I mentioned no caffeine whether chocolate was fine and I literally laughed out loud and said yes (but wanted to say, yes, of course, how could any pregnant lady deny herself chocolate!) I am excited but no idea how it will go! Thankfully my friend doesn't drink, and my hubby doesn't drink much so I thankfully won't be surrounded by drunk people..

Sure - I sort of tweaked some existing recipes so I don't have exact measurements but I'll do my best.
1 16oz pkg fresh tortellini 1 pkg frozen spinach 1c puréed butternut squash (i roast with olive oil then whip up in my food processor) 1c veg or chicken broth salt & pepper Block of cream cheese
Cook tortellini per package directions. As they're cooking, I heat a large sauté pan on med and add the chicken/veg broth, the butternut, and about 1/3 of the cream cheese. Just let that cook all together until the cream cheese is melted. Once the tortellini is done I get a slotted spoon and transfer it right out of the water into the sauce, add the spinach (I heat and drain out the water) and cook everything together for a couple minutes. If the sauce is too thick, I'll add a little pasta water. If too thin, add more puréed squash or cheese. Season to taste.

This sounds amazing which says a lot considering nothing sounds good lately. I'm going to have to run to the store tomorrow.
