R/R: I had fun watching the Emmys last night!! DH had significantly less fun watching the Packers game.

CS/Q: Nope. Starting to feel a little PMS-y but hoping for the best.

GTKY: I was shy and a late bloomer, so I didn't make out with anyone until my 20s! Actually the only thing I remember is that he was wearing a TON of aftershave and it made me feel kind of sick. The guy also turned out to be a huge jerk. Sometimes I run into someone wearing that same aftershave and I have to work hard not to immediately dislike them, lol.

Hoping the week goes by quickly! Rave: I went shopping this weekend and found a bunch of new clothes for cheap. I hate shopping and rarely find stuff I like, so yay!

GTKY: Describe the first time you made out with someone. In the back of a high school boyfriend's car at a drive-in theater. It was the night of my big sister's high school graduation and I opted to go out with my boyfriend instead of go to her party. I still feel pretty badly about that!

Rant/Rave: I'm realizing my hopes are v high this cycle. I think I've been pretty realistic up until this point, but I think there are a lot of factors this time making me feel like this cycle has good odds when really it's just a cycle like any other! Sigh. My bff is coming to stay with us Thursday so I need to do a lot of cleaning this week.

Every year in k-8 we did something called outdoor ed where we'd spend a week in the wilderness. In 7th grade we went to Yosemite, which by the way isn't a great plan for 12-year-olds. We had to carry 30 lb giant backpacks on our backs for 8+ miles/day, and I weighed roughly 80 lbs at that point (and yes, I was the same height I am today: 5'8). Anyway, the bus ride was 6-7 hours? Like, it was a really long bus ride. And all the teachers fell asleep. I was sitting with my then boyfriend, and we were sort of snuggling? And I think we tried to make out but didn't really know how to do it so we just sort of close mouth kissed for a while. But then that night at camp in the glorious, "romantic" cover of darkness we made out by the bathrooms. (Insert eye roll). We ended up dating for a year. We would go see a movie together every weekend, choose the one with the longest run time, and make out the entire time. Ah, the good old days.

Guys, I miss making out lol.

@Augusta108 I have the opposite problem. My 8th grade boyfriend, and then my 11th grade boyfriend each wore very distinctive colognes that at the time I was very into because I was so head over heels for them. The former wore Aqua di Gio, the latter Davidoff Cool Water. Honestly terrible. Intellectually i know now how bad those smell. But to this day if someone (horrifyingly, typically a teenager) walks by wearing either of those scents my whole body is like WHO? WHAT? WHY AM I AROUSED? It's bad.

We had a wilderness getaway like that when I was in 8th grade but I didn't make out with anyone. I went to a Christian School so I probably would have been shunned had I done that lol. Yes, the good old days of constantly making out. Hardly ever happens anymore.

@offtoneverland the Christian school here (high school) had a sizable enough orgy sophomore year (while I was a freshman; and no I was not present lol) that the parents, teachers, administrators and clergy all found out about it, and all 800 of us had to go to an abstinence lecture in the gym by this engaged couple that claimed to never have made out even though the girl was "revirginized." The sophomore girls almost got into a physical fight with the senior girls. So. Lol. I left after that year and would 100% say things were less scandalous outside of Christian education.

ETA: guys, I left the test on my bathroom counter and got an evap/indent line like many, many hours after the test was taken. I've done this a million times, it's my first evap/indent line! Thanks wondfo! Do I get TTC bingo yet?? (I think we should make two separate official bingo boards. One for ttc and one for the TTGP board specifically.) This wondfo actually came from a new shipment of wondfos (previously id just use the mega pack I bought a year ago) so now I'm super stoked to keep testing. Ugh.

@doxiemoxie212 Yikes! That's quite a story. Hard to think of that happening at a Christian school but I definitely believe it. I left the school after 11th grade because I got so tired of drama. A boy at the school threw my Harry Potter book in the trash because it was "ungodly." It really pissed me off, especially because he was a huge Lord of the Rings fan...which is pretty much the same thing as HP, just in a different era. *Rolls eyes* I'm still a Christian now but just not a fan of the drama that comes with private schools. Guess you get they anywhere though.

It was when a group of us were hanging out at a friend's house. The friend had been dating his g/f for months and went to make out in the basement. The rest of the group followed suit, including me and the guy I had JUST started dating. We dated for 6 months or so and never really progressed beyond making out.

@dukestar5 - I am a master symptom spotter! Last cycle, I had all the pregnancy-related symptoms, including nausea throughout the TWW. Clearly, I'm not pregnant now. This time around, I've had less "symptoms," but different ones, including heartburn. No headache or spotting (knock on wood), which are my AF symptoms. AF is due tomorrow so who knows.

I hope AF comes soon for you!!

Second semester of freshman year I had gone out on a few dates with a guy and I went in for a kiss at the end of a date as we were waiting for a campus shuttle to take him across campus. I really misread his cues so the kiss was unexpected on his part and awkward. I rushed back to my dorm and told my friends how embarrassed I was. Guess it didn't bother him too much because a few days later he invited me to his dorm to "watch a movie" where we did make out. I dated him for two years and he was my first significant relationship. Glad that didn't work out!

@dukestar5, the Emmys were pretty good! I'd actually seen a lot of the nominated shows this year, so it was fun to root for my favorites (This is Us, Master of None, Stranger Things) even if they didn't always win. I was also really excited that Margaret Atwood was there for The Handmaid's Tale!

@blackhottamales, Stephen Colbert hosted and was reasonably good. Probably the best host they've had in a while!

Rant/Rave: We had a great time at the wedding this weekend. None of the people I was even self-conscious about seeing were even invited (ha ha!). We stayed the night in the town where the wedding was and had a great breakfast and then picked up a bunch of fruit from an orchard farmstand before we made our way back home. Also rain and cooler temperatures showed up last night (a welcome change) and it finally feels like fall.

GTKY: Describe the first time you made out with someone. I was 15. He was my first boyfriend, first kiss and first everything (eventually). We snuck into a storage room at our high school and went for it. He had braces and it was kinda sloppy at first, but really hot and heavy. Those were the days! LOL

I'm starting to think maybe my tempdrop doesn't work like they claim it should. When I get up during the night for an extended period of time I tend to get hotter temps than I think I should. Last night I froze and got up to shut the door to the porch a couple times because MH thought it was hot out, so I feel like my temps should be colder because I was freezing.

My first boyfriend in high school he was more advanced than I was, he went in to kiss me and I kneed him in the nose and gave him a bloody nose. Of course after that I felt bed and ended up making out with him.

@jaylii I love the awkward story, something similar happened to me in college, except he flat out told me "Well that was awkward" turned out he had a girl friend back home that I didn't know about and he continued to cheat on her with me after that. Also it's awesome you get to see YH 2 weeks is a long time!

Gotcha. Thank you for explaining. It is pretty nuanced, but I'll defer to those who have been around here longer than I have. I've never seen an indent/evap line so I don't have any experience with those, but I think it is nice for people to have a place to talk about them, so I wouldn't want to ask that they not be discussed at all. I thought the deal with the one thread that blew up a while ago was that the person's line didn't show up until after the 5 minute mark, so she wasn't sure. But isn't anything outside the time limit not reliable? Maybe that's besides the point though. I don't mind seeing indents/evaps in the dailies, just want to know how they should be responded to so each person doesn't get a different answer. It's never an easy answer though. :P

@lm0729 hey, welcome! CD means cycle day. If you just got a positive OPK, you probably still belong in WTO (waiting to ovulate). Most people here move from WTO to TWW 3 days after O (typically confirmed via temping, but not always). Timing is when you boned relative to O, so hard to know until you know your O date.

Eh, sort of. She basically posted "I saw a pink line but I think it's an evap, but it showed up within the window." Which was basically saying, "I don't believe the BFP I saw was a BFP." If a line shows up 5-10 min after the window, eh, might be positive. Several hours later when you looked at it at 5 min, 10 min, 20 min, etc., and it was stark white? But then mirraaaacculously several hours later a line shows up? Evap/indent. Basically they're like these grey lines (as opposed to pink) or like, shadows, from a literal indent in the test strip.

BFPs don't bother me so I don't want to speak for those that are bothered by them. I know we agreed in the thread that blew up that evaps/indents are fine, but maybe we should re-evaluate if it's too confusing for new folks to differentiate. ::shrug::

The fist time I kinda made out with a guy I was a freshman in high school. I remember catching a mini seizure and having a brief episode of something similar to a heart attack, being that I was soooo nervous and scared lol. The make out session lasted about all of 3 seconds.

@gimmiethebump FYI, hopefully not restating info you already know, but your cycle length actually has zero correlation with your LP. Your cycle length can vary widely cycle to cycle because your O date can vary, but generally your LP won't very much. Most women have an LP length of 12-14. Some have shorter, some longer. I have longer (14-16), but the absolutely longest it can possibly be is 18 days (unless one ends up pregnant, in which case it's not really an LP anymore

). All that said, while it's possible for a test to be negative at 13 or 14dpo even with a long LP, it's not very likely. That's because implantation typically occurs 6-9DPO, and it takes 4-7 days for HCG to rise enough in urine to turn HPTs positive. The reason FF suggests waiting is because they don't want anyone to waste tests - if you wait the absolute longest amount of time, you won't waste a test if AF shows up. I personally like to test because AF upsets me more than BFNs do so I like some warning. I hope that's helpful and not more panic inducing. FX for a good news!

@doxiemoxie212 I honestly had no idea and I am not very knowledgable on my LP. I have very irregular cycles ranging from 13 cycle days to 51 cycle days

. So I never bothered to try and pin point it. My AF, according to FF, Ovia and Period Tracker, is due between today and tomorrow so I might test on Wednesday.
