I was hoping it was a typo, but couldn't figure out what other word she was trying to use.

AFM, no plans tomorrow, and a wine festival on Sunday. I am shopping tonight with my mom, I need to get DH something for his birthday, and I have no clue what to get hi.

I can be good at present shopping, but DH always buys himself whatever he wants, so he is impossible to shop for. I usually get him real gifts and something ridiculous too, so he has a pair of Jeff Goldblum socks that I can't wait to steal.

What's up with you guys?
Friday night and I have a cold so I'm chilling at home. I just logged in to Facebook and saw two baby announcements from college acquaintances. I'm hating those so much recently. I honestly think I'm not going to post a social media announcement when I get pregnant. Rant over, sorry

How was your week?
Week was good. I have a cold but otherwise can't complain. MH is out of town for work. I'm meeting him in New Orleans next Friday!

Any plans for the weekend?
Working tomorrow. Chilling Sunday.

Man, I always miss the good drive-by threads. I'm working a trade show all weekend. I'm exhausted and it's only the end of day one.

@holly321 My H does the same thing. Does he have any hobbies or movies/shows he especially likes? Or maybe an experience gift instead?

Hi ladies! This week was so long and stressful, and I'm so glad it's over! MH is making us mac and cheese for dinner, but we went to gym, so I don't feel too bad about it. We're heading to the renaissance festival tomorrow, then spending Sunday frantically prepping for the coming week. I'm so looking forward to a proper day off tomorrow though!

Also, re: that drive by, I assumed she was trying to type breasts. Not quite sure how you get to brats from there, but, being extremely generous, maybe an auto-correct fail? @zwink1 Your comment about the type of brats made me snort laugh.

@holly321 I totally second @SkilledSailor's suggestion of an experience gift. That's what I usually try to do for MH. A couple years ago I took him to see one of his favorite comedians live, so that was fun.
@jaylii Facebook is the worst lately! I've pretty much stopped going on there. Just when I think everyone who could possibly be pregnant is, more announcements pop up. New Orleans sounds amazing! Have you been before?

@darkstar42 Ugh, facebook, it really is so bad, but I can't quit it! Maybe my husband should change my password and see how long I last. haha Oh and I've never been to New Orleans. We're also meeting my parents and 80 something year old Godmother there (she's young at heart and fun). This trip is what my Mom wanted for her 70th birthday.

@SkilledSailor, he does have hobbies he likes, but he buys all the stuff he likes/collects. Plus, we sold our house recently and are staying with my parents until we find a bigger place, so it makes him want less stuff. Ugh, he is frustrating.

H is going to hopefully finish his aunt's bathroom today, and then put a window in someone else's house tomorrow.
I'm gonna stay home and do housework, homework, and get lost in a book or two.

@izza2 what type of books do you usually read? You will have to update when you decide what to read today

AFM- I am having a lazy morning. Just finished my Saturday morning coffee (with a little Irish cream). Reading a book while snuggled with the puppies. When DH gets up and going we are heading to the street fair in town.

Because it's the randoms- I know the new Miss America!! Funny story - my friend turned her down a month ago when she wanted to start dating him

@MrsMiller8588 - I'm a sucker for YA romance novels and sci-fi romance books and things like that.
And historical romance. AKA all romance.
I'll probably finish "Expecting Better", but I'm not super impressed with it so far, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as of yet. It's been pretty bare in terms of actual information to be gained, IMO. *shrug*

Does your friend regret turning her down, or does he kind of view it as bragging rights of sorts?

@izza2 I'm not really sure... he has taken A LOT of crap from his friends because of it. But she will be gone for the next year now. Plus he's a pretty big partier (his nickname is frat boy) and she can't drink or be seen in public drinking so I don't know how that would work?

@izza2 I really liked expecting better. I think it was good about dispelling a lot of the outdated recommendations and letting the reader make her own decisions based on facts or the lack thereof

DH is still away until tomorrow night, so I'm trying to get some cleaning done since we'll be away for the holiday next week and my dad will be coming to the house to feed my cat.

My only issue is that we're super behind on groceries (since we couldn't go shopping while our car was in the shop), and I don't know what to eat for dinner. I had Wendy's last night, and I really should be trying to eat healthy, but I'll probably have fast food again. Tomorrow night I'll make (relatively healthy) tacos, so that will be better.

A friend came over this evening with her dog so ours could play together. We iced sugar cookies. I am (still) in search of a hobby, so I thought I'd try fancy cookies.

Lol, we clearly gave up on those.

Tomorrow we will likely go to Farmer's Market in the morning. Then, I need to clean out my car, finish power washing the siding, clean the house, and finish laundry.

@jrm_14, I am impressed by those cookies! I've thought about trying to take that up as a hobby, but I have no artistic ability and have great difficulty resisting eating frosted sugar cookies, so it's probably best that I not.

@jrm_14 in Manhattan? I was at the Stone Street one, and there was no food.... just beer/wine. Certainly no German food? :-\ It was like 99% extremely preppy 24-year-olds + two wedding parties (WHY WHY WHY would people wear gowns and tuxedos in muggy heat to something that crowded and dirty??)

My first thought was that you did such an awesome job with the details on that frosting, and it took me a minute to realize it wasn't a cookie.

@doxiemoxie212 I have a love/hate relationship with Stone Street. I went a bunch in college. Definitely not a place I would wear anything nice, let alone a wedding gown.

DH and I are planning on doing Oktoberfest in our yard at the end of the month, provided I don't kill him first. I just found a pile of dirt/dust in a corner where he hung up some pictures that he definitely should have seen when he hung up the pictures. Water must have gotten on it at some point, so it was like mud.

@jsnakehole when we were in college Stone Street was so much more mild than it is now, and it was still v crowded back then! There are so many more residential buildings in FiDi now that it's madness. Just so many J Crew lookbook humans. It's so cute, though, when there are fewer humans, and Adrienne's pizza is honestly my fav in the city these days.

@doxiemoxie212. No, not Manhattan! We live in the Midwest near a town that is very German. It has lots of wine, beer, and tons of German food at Oktoberfest. I am sad for you that there isn't good food there

And I don't get that type of wedding celebration, either. You do you, I guess.

@oddtoneverland @Augusta108 I was pleased with my first attempt! I certainly gave tons away already....and ate tons, too

@lurvleybunchococonuts @izza2 I can't remember now if that one had identifying/personalized stuff on it or if it was a certain ugly anatomical part of the body. I cut out circles and my H said, "What are those? Butt holes?" So, a butt hole cookie I made him!
