Okay. Kind of random. But also a question. Is anyone else being triggered by certain smells?
I think from peeing so frequently/going to the bathroom to vomit, the smell of my hand soap in my bathrooms is making me nauseous. I'm trying to alternate soaps just so I don't have this all the time. But it seriously sucks. Every time I wash my hands, I think I'm going to be sick to my stomach!
Yep! The smell of my steps (picks up and holds every scent of the food we make) has me nauseated every morning I go down them. We think it's because it's old (super old) and needs to be replaced so we are working on that. Crazy! @justkeeptrying
@justkeeptrying ugh, yes! I keep telling my husband that I can't stand the smell of our master bathroom. It's not a bad smell, it's actually some sort of cleaner or fragrance, but it's so overwhelming because it's a small space with limited ventilation. I've had to open the windows frequently.
Thanks ladies!! I seriously feel the worst about it. I wash my hands and I just want to puke. I need to get some different soap. Seriously. And the smell of a clean toilet is almost as bad as if it's not clean. I've been puking too much
I was just told I have a low lying placenta. Has anyone else been told this? They didn't seem too worried except I was told I had to have sex and lifting restrictions. Is there anything else I need to worry about with a low lying placenta?

@rachel2107, it's got plenty of time to move! They will check you again later in your pregnancy to be sure.
***March '18 October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costume Fails***
@rachel2107 I had that with my first and have it again with this LO. They told me about 90% of the time as you grow and your baby grows it moves up and away no problem. Mine did with my first and I had no problems at all. This time around I had to ask if I had it again and they said yes but again weren't worried about it because they watch it and it usually moves on its own up and away
Update on my belly button questions a few weeks ago. I had been wondering about why my belly button was so sore/tender when I would lightly bump it on something. Dr confirmed that I have a belly button/umbilical hernia. So I am to really limit lifting heavy things or straining. She said in this next month as my uterus grows and moves higher, it should block intestinal tract or other tissues that could get caught up in it.
I haven't posted in a while but, is anyone else still getting morning sickness (currently 14w1d)? I am also experiencing extreme headaches. I guess, migraines. I've never had them before now and I can't get any kind of relief. I'm on day three so far.

@Staciefacie I am only 13 weeks but I am still suffering from morning sickness. I thought it would have let up a little bit but it has been worse the past few days. I hope we are both coming up on the end of this soon! I haven't been able to eat a real meal in over 6 weeks.
I'm having this pinching pain on my left side kind of where I felt ovulation pains before I got pregnant . It's not severe or anything, just annoying mostly . I will be speaking to my doctors nurse on Monday about something else and think it's ok to wait to mention it then, but I was wondering if this was Round Ligament Pain? Dr Google said it manifests a little sharper but I wasn't sure if it could vary ?

@muggle621 I am not a doctor or any sort of health professional. So this is just an idea. Maybe it's a small ovarian cyst? Glad you will be asking your doc as well!
@muggle621 if find RLP to be very distinctive and easy to identify. it's sharp and it's fast - but it really hurts (if only for a moment). I usually feel it off I cough or sneeze... clear my throat or move too quickly.
I wouldn't describe it as a pinch... More of like a pull.... doesn't really sound like what you are describing TBH.
that said.... doesn't mean it's anything serious and I agree you should bring it up with your nurse, but I'm sure she'll agree ours pretty normal. I get twinges and small cramps frequently.
@Staciefacie Ugh I've been having awful headaches and my first ever migraine earlier this week. Tylenol didn't really help but lying down with an ice pack or cold washcloth on my head helped. I also made my DH rub my head lol.
Opinions on gentle prenatal massages? Completely fine? I'm considering going for a massage with a friend who will be visiting when I'm a little over 14 weeks pregnant.
@eller-2 COMPLETELY fine! And I would recommend it! (I'm a massage therapist who has prenatal and postpartum certifications.) You can actually even have deeper work done in some areas if it's needed - you just don't want anything crazy intense that will stimulate your sympathetic nervous system. You'll be in the clear at 14 weeks, although tbh that rule is only from a liability standpoint - there is absolutely no risk in the first trimester, it's just the high miscarriage rate then that keeps most MTs from working on moms-to-be then. Obviously if you're high risk and/or have other complications get the clear from your OB first, but if you're experiencing a normal pregnancy there shouldn't be an issue! Enjoy!!
@eller-2 had one today for my birthday.....it was bliss!!! Where I went I was positioned on my side with pillows. Amazing pressure and a bottle of water afterward instead of the little cup I used to get. Just awesome!
@eller-2@cford08 I would recommend everyone get prenatal massages where they're positioned on their side. I know there's an article on TB that mentions the fancy cut-out tables, but tbh I know of very few places that use them because they're not actually great for most people - obviously not all bumps are shaped alike and it can put undue strain on your ligaments. Just an FYI!
Thanks @kalawa and @bb3vj3n! It has magically stopped today but I am still going to ask the nurse about it Monday. RLP sounds like it's no joke!!! Not looking forward to that.

Question for anyone. After this baby is born I need long term birth control, I'm thinking the Paragard because I don't want to take anything hormonal. I'm so paranoid about having something in my body that I won't be able to remove myself if need be. Has anyone had the paragard? What was your experience? Will it be able to be placed during cs after baby and placenta are out?
@kalawa I don't think watching the first 2 movies after reading the first 2 books will spoil anything. Keep in mind they change Dumbledores and directors for the third movie on so it will be a slight adjustment when you make it to that point.

I had the paragaurd for 6 years. I liked it. I still got periods, but they were a little lighter than normal. They will put it in at your 6 week visit most likely. It hurts going in, but I'm a wimp with Drs. Things other than actual birth. I got t it removed in order to have this baby. Depending on what dh and i decide after lo is here, I'll get it put back either right away or after another pregnancy.

I haven't had this, but I don't think your Dr would place it until at least your 6wk postpartum appointment. (once your uterus is back to normal size)

@Gingermom15 I havent had a Paragard, but I had the Mirena IUD for about 4 years before trying for this pregnancy. I went with the Mirena because I'd been told (and read on their website) that the Paragard can make your periods worse, and mine are/were pretty awful, so I didn't want to deal with that. I'm 99% sure they wouldn't insert it until your postpartum checkup. Insertion sucks (though I've heard it's better post-baby!) but I recommend IUDs to literally every woman I know. They're awesome.
I'm not sure if I should put this in the symptoms thread or not...because I'm not sure it's a symptom? I've heard of issues with swelling during pregnancy, but has anyone ever had the opposite? Lately my rings have been so loose I'm a little nervous they could fall off if I gesticulate too passionately. (Which happens often.) I've had this happen on occasion in the winter/when I'm cold but never like this, and never all the time. My weight hasn't changed significantly but symptom-wise I feel like my BP is probably pretty low. I don't expect answers but it's just so weird I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else!
@Gingermom15 I had the paragard after DS (I think it was inserted around 10 weeks pp) and I was happy with it. Before having an IUD, I had light periods and it is true that they became heavier and lasted for an extra day but all of this was just a minor inconvenience and really not a big deal for me. I would recommend Paragard based on my experience. I really liked the fact that it was non hormonal and I never had to think about it.
Side note - I got pregnant right after I had it removed, so it doesn't interfere with your cycle at all!
