the packaging insert for the flue vaccine states that it is not tested and not proven safe during pregnancy. The CDC says something different so I asked. My dr could not back up either one. So, my questions were not about about the effectiveness of the vaccine, but rather the safety of it while pregnant.
So yesterday I'd mentioned how good DD was all day letting me rest and just snuggling with me. Today she woke up at 3:45. Like woke up as in started her day at 3:45. I am so tired.
I woke up thinking it was Friday. And then reality hit lol
I was seriously just coming on here to post the same thing! I woke up convinced it was Friday and was excited because DH and I are going to the last drive in movie of the season Friday. But it's not and now I'm sad.

I am in trial all day today, all day tomorrow, and all day Friday and I have a UTI. This means that I am going to have to stop trial ALL the time to pee OR hold it and make it worse. Sigh.
@magnolia305 Haha yep. I have a lot of time I'm just sitting at my desk with nothing to do while students work on projects. So I get most of my bumping in then!

Who knew that's what teachers did when we were in class. Oh wait. This kind of thing wasn't around when I was in school -haha!

Lol I was just thinking ... wait there are computers in classrooms nowadays? And then I remembered, duh phones. What did teachers do while we were taking tests and stuff back in the day! And I don't remember any of my college professors having computers cuz they switched rooms, but is that a thing now?
@clc515 I would say most if not all college Profs have computers in thier rooms so they can do thier lectures with slides if they choose. The computers are on a network so you just sign in with your user name in whatever room you are in

Oh no! Is Azo safe in pregnancy? UTIs are the worst!

Haha yep I have my tablet with me at school and do everything on there. I could grade stuff while they work but I like to do that during my prep when no students are in my room. Either that or I'm just a super lazy teacher, I always feel like other teachers do so much more than I do but I seriously don't know what all they do. Art is a pretty flexible subject to teach though so maybe that's why? Maybe that should have been saved for fffc, hahaha
Eta: I made that sound like teachers don't have anything to do, I should rephrase that a lot of other subjects have much more of a rigid demand on how much they need to accomplish and as a result they have way more lessons to plan and grading to do than I usually do as an art teacher. My projects take the kids like a week or more at a time to do so I have much fewer lessons to teach and grade than other teachers. If they don't need help, I have down time. Not meaning to belittle how hard teachers in general work!!

So so excited! We did our 20 week a/s today and everything looks great! I can put my biggest fears to rest and be excited and happy for our new little boy!
My random for the day: my husband just texted to tell me that the ice cream shop around the corner from us has apple cider donut sundaes..... There is a 100% chance we're getting some of those tonight.

Woo! Always good news.
So I had an appointment today with the doctor who replaced my OB. I LOVED my old OB and I was heartbroken when she left. I literally cried when she told me. She's getting married so I'm happy for her but it still totally stinks. Anyway we are still friends and she's been telling me I'll love the new doctor. I wasn't super impressed. There was nothing wrong with her necessarily we just didn't click in the same way. It's a bummer because I always looked forward to my appointments since I loved my doctor so much. Now I'm just bleh about it.
I just ate some (a lot of) chocolate pudding and this kid is going nuts! I love it!!!!
Stuck in box. Someone posted in another thread about drinking OJ before an u/s. That got me craving OJ (which I NEVER drink. This kid's been dancing a jig all day!
@eggplantface I'll have to check. I called nurse and she wants me to "pop over" for urine test. I can't "pop over" because of schedule of trial and hours when they're open. Blah.
@BrittaniLC and @babybro218 I am so jealous! I'm at 17 weeks and still don't feel anything.

@ash0625 So frustrating! I can relate to not being able to get out of work during anything close to normal working hours. I've gone to the CVS Minute Clinic for UTIs. They usually have later hours. And they have a system where you can check in online so you don't have to wait as long. They give you a little cup and paper bag and send you to the bathroom and it is a little awkward walking through the store with a bag filled with pee. But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do...
@TattoosandLace it gets better. Don't show fear. They can smell it.
Dude. How many hours of trying to DD2 down will it take? I'm exhausted. DH should have been home already.
*stuck in the box*
it just takes them understanding that this is what's happening. DS and I cried together many nights but he finally got it. I wish there was like an exact formula that works but just keep trying different things and it will click. With DS it was singing to him and cuddling him a little and then I would leave while he was still awake and he was okay. How did you DD1 do with sleep training?
I don't know if this belongs under randoms or "shit people say" but H told me about a conversation he had with his coworker about me. He told her I was having a scheduled C-section because of previous surgeries, and she apparently got all concerned and goes "Do you know what they do during a c-section?" And H goes "Uh...cut the baby out?" And she says all horrified "They tie you down!" And H told me this and I busted out laughing and said "First, not necessarily, but even if they do, it's for your own safety and it's not like they leave you there! Geez." I know she's young, but c'mon, use some critical thinking skills before judging.

Guyssss, bitchfest sorry but I've been waking up with the worst headaches. I feel like it's taking me so much longer to get out of bed. Hormones can suck it
Speaking of c-sections, I get so annoyed when someone tells me to hope for a csection. Yes, I've gotten this comment at least three times. For the record, I've never had one with my three births and I'm absolutely terrified of them. Like, why would anyone wish a risky major surgery on a new mom and baby if it weren't medically necessary? Since I've never had one I can't comment personally on the recovery but it looks like HELL.
I'm still around. thanks for thinking of me. It has been harder to be active here this pregnancy since my one year old keeps me on my toes. I work weekends, and that's usually when I try catch up on the threads.
We found out the twins are boys this week. So I'm already starting to plan. I'm dreading going through DD's clothes to get rid of. The twins will be our last kiddos. And I'm mourning the thought that we won't need any of her girl newborn bows, pink swaddles, and dresses.

@seitzy3 that's nuts, csections are no walk in the park either. I had a scheduled one for my DD as she was stuck super breech up in my ribs. Now all the older women I know are like "oh dear and now you need another one". I guess their generation doesn't know as much about VBACS and when I tell them I'm actually the perfect candidate to try for a VBAC they always look horrified like I'm absolutely crazy.
It's annoying how people judge both c-section and non-c-section, completely based on only their own experience or anecdotes they've heard. When H said his coworker had something to say about my c-section I was bracing for the worst judgment about it. Everyone should just mind their business! And not imagine a room full of women strapped down to gurneys getting c-sections against their wills with no anesthesia, which is what I think this coworker was picturing when she expressed her horror. I'm still giggling about her idiocy.

@mbirdie mostly from what I hear, it's on the harder side to find a doctor willing to do vbac? Not sure if that's accurate or not but either way I wish the best of luck to you!
@eggplantface yeah that comment is ridiculous lol but also, I don't understand the whole strong opinions of vaginal vs. csections. Let it go people, at the end of the day we just wish for a healthy baby
@meatballs37 yay for boys!! That's exciting but I understand the emotions having to let go of the little girls clothes. I'm currently packing away 1yo old DDs clothes that I'll never use again. Like, I might just stick them in the attack and keep them forever
