I have a muscle spasm in my foot. Just one muscle on the side. It's making my foot twitch and it's super annoying, especially when I'm trying to go to sleep at night. I had forgotten about the leg and foot spasms and wish I didn't have to remember them. Anyone else finding symptoms that they blocked out from the first time around?
@schaze all my weird hair growth is on my face. Where it's very very visible. I don't have the energy to pluck it daily either. So much for glowing. Glowering maybe... Like a bear. Lol!
My lower back is killing me today, in addition to the ongoing sore-butt-can't-move-leg thing. I had to take DS shopping with me this morning while DH was at work, and I think it was just way too much hauling him in & out of car seats and shopping carts.
My whole body below neck is in pain... Back pain, hips, leg cramps... ... Only normal movable parts remaining is neck and hands.... Laying flat On the couch for the whole day today Edit: spelling.
+1 on the age spots @myorke24. I still had some on my cheeks from last pregnancy that are now getting darker and yep, new ones right in the middle of my forehead. Doctor recommended limiting sun exposure...I seriously barely ever spend time outside...I am blindingly white. Scary!!
@Cricket99 I either blocked out my entire second and third trimesters, or pregnancy was a breeze at 22. I vaguely remember being achy and sore at the end of pregnancy, and super tired at the beginning.
My chest is covered in tiny red spots. I assume they're here to stay now.
@ollydolly I had that a lot with my first and it only got worse as I got further along. Eventually I was diagnosed with pregnancy induced carpel tunnel syndrome. My hands would be asleep when I woke up and stay that way for hours. It was so annoying and didn't go away until about a month after delivery. I got writs braces to sleep in and that seemed to help. I'm hoping I don't get it again this time around...
My newest symptom this week is itchy feet. Both of my heels. It started at the same time and I don't see any bumps or anything like that. I went back to work this week (teacher) so i'm wondering if has to do with standing all day.
I am a bit of a sleep talker normally, but apparently since becoming pregnant it has become significantly worse. 4-5 nights a week I wake up to find DH sleeping on the couch in order to get even a tiny bit of sleep. I feel so bad and upset realizing there is nothing I can do! It's not like snoring where you can find a nose strip and call it good....I apparently have full conversations, hum, sing, and sometimes scream all in my sleep and I'm completely oblivious to it all until being told about it the next morning. I'm ready for this to end so that my hubby will start staying in bed with me all night!
@myorke24 lol, jealous! Right now it's an outie, but if I sneeze/cough/laugh, it pokes out so much more. It grosses me out. My husband finds it hilarious and likes to poke it when I'm not paying attention and of course I lose my mind...also funny story. I had a tighter tank top on the other day, and my younger nephew could see the bulge from my belly button through my shirt. So he walks over and pokes my belly button and says "is that the baby's nose?" I just about died laughing.
Kezzy44 Interesting. A doula friend has suggested that I wear braces at night time. I'm also not used to sleeping on my side (normally a tummy sleeper) and it always is my left hand (the side I sleep on now). Thanks for telling your story...I'm now going to get the braces. :-)
Edited to add: I'm also a teacher and my feet were all kinds of wonky this past first week.
I woke up this morning to a nose bleed. I've managed to go 29 years without having one, which is kind of amazing, especially since a few years ago I went on a medication for 7 months that dries out your skin and can cause nose bleeds. Of course it would be pregnancy that finally led me to have one. On the plus side, it didn't last very long. But clearly, I'm doing a terrible job at staying hydrated.
@darkrose88 Fun times! I haven't had one yet this time, but I had one when I was pregnant with DD during a meeting with 5 students. They could not believe it was a pregnancy symptom... I think it scared them into getting birth control.
I am SO tired in the mornings! That is all.
Oh and @Cricket99, I definitely remembered acid reflux from my first pregnancy, but I forgot how random it can be sometimes! I mean if I just ate a full meal, makes sense, but after half a smoothie? WHY?
@EmilyLove25 I had to laugh at your comment about scaring students into getting birth control. I can only imagine how they would have reacted if you started having contractions during a meeting with students... Probably scare them into never having sex again.
I've hit the always warm stage. I am going insane. I had to close my office door so I could take my sweater off because I'm wearing a super thin spaghetti strapped tank top. haha.
Right side hip/lower back pain. It's not supposed to start this early wahhhhhh. I'm going to the chiropractor weekly, so I'm going to have to ask him what's up.
Me too @supercoolstephy. I kept asking DH this weekend, is it hot in here? He's like no honey it's pretty cool. Then last night he took all the covers and I was just sweating laying there
is anyone still experiencing headaches? i thought i was over the hump but i've had one since yesterday afternoon that won't go away. Any tips for relief? I'm drinking a ton of water, cool facecloth on my head (when i'm home, lol), even if i take tylenol (which i am trying to do sparingly) it barely takes the edge off.
@karacc18 is your blood pressure normal? If you don't know, I might call and get checked just in case. My doctor freaks when I have a headache that won't go away because it makes my bp spike.
I could have written your post, @missblaze! My left butt cheek/lower back hurt at the end of every day. It has become a nightly tradition the last week to have DH massage it when we get into bed. What is this?? I never had back pain with DD, so to have it at only 24 weeks? I'm kind of terrified!
@karacc18 - I'm still getting them! I just made a comment at the end of last week that I hadn't had one in a little while and then Friday I got a bad one and another Saturday night. No suggestions here! Nothing seems to touch mine, even fioricet.
@cyanope I had it last time but I was much further along. It was due to the relaxin and alignment, and then our positional issues with DD being breech. Hopefully it's just relaxin.
@auntieraindrop I also have lots of little random hairs on my face/chin. Most days I feel like I'm sporting a goatee. @supercoolstephy I was sweating at work today, so I looked around the room and sure enough it was just me! I'm envious of you have an office door to close to cool off!
Back pain, which I've had since week 13. I don't think it'll ever go away. Something new started today: I have these deep, quick, stabbing pains. It kind of feels like my cervix bc it's definitely not muscle related. I googled it (bc naturally I thought it was labor, hello FTM here!) and I found something called 'lightening crotch'. Yep, you read that right lol. Fun times! I also find that every day around 1pm my body desperately wants a nap.
I've been dealing with constant cramps. I'm a FTM I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow. I went to my OB on the 5th of September (found the heartbeat) but basically told me that cramping is fine and should be expected. The only issue I have with this, is, I've been having cramping since the middle of my First trimester. The other night I even pulled some weird muscle on my lower pelvic area (that didn't feel good at all). I called my nurse hotline and they basically said "wait 72 hours" and that if I'm still in pain to call my OB. Today marks the 72 hours. I don't feel as much pain but I'm still cramping. I also don't think I've felt the baby move. which kinda saddens me. I hate being so negative or thinking bad thoughts. Just didn't know if anyone has experienced what I'm going through.
Im also switching OB's the 14th is my appointment with my new OB. I'm hoping that they can give me my 20 week ultrasound instead of me waiting 4 weeks til the next appointment. Fingers crossed.
@jcbh2018 when I was a FTM, I was anxious about many of the same things you have been experiencing. I had cramping on and off much of the first and second trimester and had a couple spotting issues in the first trimester as well. I tend to think that the cramping is worse the first time because your uterus is not used to being stretched. I also was not able to feel him until I was around 22-23 weeks due to an anterior placenta. Both pregnancies I have experienced pelvic pain similar to pulling a groin muscle and towards the middle of my first pregnancy, it felt like my pelvis was being ripped in half. Truth is, the front of your pelvic bone is fused together with tendons that get stretched as your pelvis widens and allows room for baby. I remember being where you are and thinking that being pregnant was zero fun, but now I am the crazy, happy pregnant lady. As I have told my little sister, you get the best gift at the end of all this craziness . Hang in there!!
@egirl1025 oh, trust me, overall my constant cramping. I couldn't be happier. With this being my First pregnancy, I feel I couldn't be more fortunate to have such an easy pregnancy (never had morning sickness, or nausea) I'm able to eat and I have a very loving and supportive spouse. It's just a little bug in the back of my head that I try not to listen to or think about. It's just hard sometimes. I appreciate what you said though. I try to stay as positive as much as I can. I know everything will be alright and better once I'm able to hold the little peanut in my arms.
@jcbh2018 Probably a million people have told you this, but I find that drinking insane amounts of water really helps my crampy feeling and the pulled muscle feelings. I'm also a FTM.... I had major dehydration issues in the first trimester, I even wound up in the ER once because of it! But now I drink like, 90-100 oz of water daily (and sometimes non-caffeine clear liquids, lemonade, gatorade, gingerale, juice) and I feel soooo much better.
@auntieraindrop i thought about that too. luckily this morning it seems to be gone. i was getting nervous for a little bit. @gusgus14 - sorry you are in the same boat... i hope you get some relief soon too.
@jcbh2018, I hope your new OB can give you more peace of mind. I wouldn't worry unless bright red blood was accompanying the cramping, then call your doctor. Having the AS will likely help relieve your fears. At 21 weeks I thought I had felt the baby move maybe once but wasn't sure. I started to feel and know I was feeling the baby move between weeks 22-23. I agree with @auntieraindrop about drinking lots of water. I drink a Gatorade almost every day to help keep me hydrated ontop of a minimum of 80 oz of water and a glass of milk each day.

@bainidhedub Experiencing the same, but mostly after trying to sit criss cross on the floor playing with our DS.
Edit: spelling.
right now I just have a lot of swelling, heartburn and lower back tightness. Nasuea went away again.
My chest is covered in tiny red spots. I assume they're here to stay now.
