What have we got this week ladies?

Re: Symptoms Week of 9/11

  • I've been super lightheaded since I woke up this morning. Very shaky. My heart is racing. Twice when I was making my eggs and toast this morning I had to stop and sit down because I really felt like I was going to pass out. I do also have a pretty stuffed up nose right now, so maybe it's more related to that than pregnancy? Anyone else deal with this? I'm used to occasional racing heart and lightheaded feelings but this is a lot.

  • @ShawnnO, I would give your OB a call and ask. I would also suggest eating something with salt. Your blood pressure might be on the low side. Snacking on some salty foods should help with that.
  • @justkeeptrying thank you, my OB isn't open yet this morning but if I'm still dealing with this when they are, I will definitely call. Good point about the salt, I actually don't think I had anything particularly salty yesterday so that might be what it is.
  • Just around 12weeks, and my constant nausea has primarily shifted to heartburn/acid reflux (yay? honestly feels like a small upgrade) and extreme tiredness (which I had avoided until this point).

@ShawnnaO I'm sorry you're feeling so gross! I get light headed too, but it's related to low blood pressure, which is just a constant for me... but for you, might be induced by cold. If your OBGYN is closed all day, do you have a primary care doctor you could call? Hopefully you can rest today either way! <3
  • @ShawnnaO This is what I've been dealing with for the last couple of weeks! Doctor has found no rhyme or reason so far, but could be my blood pressure as it hangs out at "low normal" generally. Check with your doctor in case they want to look into it, I also felt this way in my last pregnancy and my iron was quite low.
  • Thank you ladies! I've eaten some Ritz crackers and tried to rest for the last hour, as much as I could with a toddler who also has a cold, and I'm feeling a lot better. I'm going to keep my crackers close by and try taking it easy today.
  • @chasingroygbiv ugh I'm so frustrated for you. Will they at least start treating it now?
  • I was feeling fine for a few days, starting to get over the first tri fog, yesterday my boobs started killing me again (wtf is that about?) today I slept in and woke up with a headache but I feel like I can get through a day without a nap for the most part now... Energy is still on the low side

  • @HappyMonkey817 +1 on the anxiety and everything pissing me off. I mentioned to the OB last week that I'm having anxiety and depression issues and that I had PPD with my daughter. She suggested I go on Prozac. I was on Zoloft after I had DD but I've never been on Prozac and she mentioned that pediatricians like to watch the baby after birth for crankiness and such that might contribute to withdrawal when I go off it eventually. That concerned me a little so I'm in the process of looking into it more.
  • Hello hunger! I can finally eat again and it is the most marvelous feeling ha. The headaches are pretty terrible though. I don't like taking tylenol but I have been taking it because the headaches just get so bad. Also, so tired but not the most restful of sleep. Hooray for not feeling like poo anymore! Thanks 2nd tri ;)

@ShawnnaO I have been feeling the exact same way. My blood pressure is a little on the low side. My OB said all normal symptoms, unless I start have a lot of palpitations. Of course, contact your OB to be sure, but I have been feeling much the same if it gives you any comfort.

  • @chasingroygbiv and @ShawnnaO I hope y'all feel better soon!!!

@sarah_haha760 I've had headaches for 5 days in a row now and I have yet to find anything that works. Tylenol didn't work for me before pregnancy but I am at the point where I want to see if it will now because of my headaches are so bad. If I find something natural I'll let you know!

I'm starting to have trouble sleeping. I was doing Unisom when I was queasy all day every day but that stopped at 11 weeks so I stopped with the Unisom. I will take it if it gets too bad but I'm trying to avoid it if I can. I'm wondering if getting a Snoogle will help with sleep, as I think part of the issue is finding a comfy position even though I am not that big yet.

  • HUNGRY!! All the time!!  I don't remember being this hungry with my first (which initially had me scared there were two...but ultrasound confirmed just one) ha nausea is still here as well.  I have also been out of breathe a LOT with any form of exertion. Nipples... oh how they hurt! Even just the slightest rub of a t-shirt without a bra or heck even through the bra hurts!

  • @ShawnnaO that is exactly what happens to me when my blood pressure is low. My OB told me to eat more salt and drink more water but that my blood pressure will probably run low until 24ish weeks because of all of the extra blood production going on.

Constipation is total crap. That is all.
  • Feeling you with the lightheadedness @ShawnnaO! I have low normal to low blood pressure though, so while it's slightly worse than normal it's mainly just bad when I stand up too fast. (Also lovely RLP when I do that, too.)

I had been far less anxious since I got pregnant but it spiked this last week, which I think had more to do with my husband being gone for almost a week more than anything. Also super cranky with EVERYONE, except the dog who has been incredibly snuggly lately. Sending lots of internet love to the other anxious ladies! @HappyMonkey817 @isntthatspeshul

And finally the exhaustion has hit me again like a ton of bricks. I had a headache all day Saturday (another constant lately, though I think it has more to do with Irma & allergies than pregnancy) and laid down for a "minute" and woke up at 7:30!
  • @muggle621I got a snoogle  at 8 weeks and it was the best decision i have ever made.  i could never get comfortable. I EFFING LOVE THAT PILLOW! My husband would toss it to the curb if he had a chance though.. lol

@chasingroygbiv I'm glad your tests finally showed positive and that you will more be treated.  I'm still pissed for you that it took so long
  • My belly button looks weird already. I don't remember this happening until much later on last time.

I have been taking antibiotics for a sinus infection. I am almost done with them, but since my allergies started acting up a couple days ago (sneezing, etc. NBD) my left ear has begun throbbing all day today. I have a history of issues with that ear, but I'm wondering if I somehow got an ear infection while taking antibiotics!?? If so is there anything that can even be done? Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before.

  • I was doing sooooo good in the nausea department until DH burned dinner. Bad. Including the pan the food was being made in. Ughhhhh. I can't get the smell out of my nose and it's too hot here to open the windows to air out for a few hours. Dang it. A for effort, but next time, please don't nearly burn the house down.
  • 14 weeks and my skin is so dry and itchy!
  • I had been feeling so much less nausea that last night I decided I didn't need to take the B6/Unisom combo.

    Worst. Decision. Ever.

Threw up this morning on the way to work. B6/Unisom forever.
  • @muggle621 I feel you. I have a ear infection that I'm taking antibiotics for that started because of sinus buildup (doctor said it wasn't a sinus infection yet). I'm about halfway through mine and to be honest the antibiotics seem to clearing up both my sinus pressure and my ear infection, my ear still aches on occasion just not nearly as bad. I hope you aren't working on another infection when your almost done with the antibiotics! :(

Headaches are a daily thing, mostly in the morning. I don't think working with computers all day is helping it.  :s

  • 14 weeks and I'm dizzy with headaches.

Today though a cold just started with me.  I can tell it's pretty powerful and gonna wipe me out.  Throat has a nasty blisters on the back, sneezing like crazy, and snot oozing.  I've also been struggling with  breathing.  Not sure what I can do.  I took Tylenol, but that only got rid of the headache.  I'm too sick to go out and find something else.  Basically I feel like death warmed over.  No symptoms last night, but me out of nowhere today.
  • @vaewelch I'm in the same boat with a cold out of nowhere. I've been doing orange juice, tea and chicken noodle soup. Not sure what else there is to do other than try to get a good amount of sleep. I'm hoping it doesn't linger too long and that my toddler doesn't pick it up. Hope you feel better soon!
  • @muggle621 Uggggghhhhh the headaches! I had my first-ever migraine yesterday. And of course Tylenol did nothing. I had to lie in bed with an ice pack on my head for hours. The only thing that helped was DH massaging around my nose. Hoping it was a freak thing with all of the crazy weather we're having this week and not the start of a trend.
  • I just spent the last 3 hours nauseous and trying not to throw up. Then I had diarrhea and immediately after threw up.

    And now I feel fine.

Why didn't I just throw up 3 hours ago and then I could have enjoyed my evening instead of spending it curled up in the fetal position??

    So done with "morning" sickness.
  • 15 weeks day 1. Heart burn and indigestion!!! Which is painful at night. I actually teared up last night! Buhhumbug.  Energy is up! Danced for about 3 hours at a conference! GO mama and baby! So very hungry and thirsty....cheese is my ultimate pleasure, my happy place.

@vaewelch hope you feel better soon! My husband came home with a major man cold yesterday, so I went out and bought a carton of organic bone broth and orzo. Kinda like "homemade" chicken soup but in like 15 minutes -- just boiled the orzo while simmering the broth with a little raw garlic, salt, and pepper. then mixed the two together.
  • Those that have dealt with a cold while pregnant, did you feel achy in your belly and lower back? Lower back pain always worries me but this is more like a body ache than a cramp.
  • Ughhhh. I have been fairly fortunate when it comes to stretch marks, but it appears the ugly bunny rabbit ear stretch mark from my lame old belly button piercing is growing. Already. Guess it was bound to happen at some point..
  • Agh so late to catch up on this thread!

@muggle I second @bb3vj3n, definitely get the snoogle ASAP. I take mine everywhere I go in the house. I wouldn't be sleeping at all without it (I tried, and it was BAD). I also second the part about H's hating on it. MH marvels at how great the design is but it gets between us in bed and prevents some cuddling positions. But hey, I'm sleeping, so snoogle stays.

I am so with everyone here who "traded up" from MS to indigestion. I'm glad not to have MS anymore but the indigestion is pretty constant. I am NOT a burper normally and now I burp A LOT and most of them sound like quacks, which has led to several jokes about how I'm actually giving birth to ducklings.

@chasingroygbiv I never had any stretch marks in my life and although I haven't gotten any on my bump yet I randomly got a bunch on the underside of what has historically been my slightly smaller boob... I guess that's the price of it catching up to the slightly larger boob. Not awesome.
  • Drank too much water before bed but I was soooo thirsty. I think I woke up 6 times to pee. Ugh.
