  • @rainafire77 I love having the heartbeat monitor!! I can never find it if I just try by myself but my husband finds it first or second try every time!! I love hearing the baby's heartbeat!

We cleaned the gutters out today and pressure washed the siding! All while our DS slept! Score 1 to us for being productive!
  • I really enjoyed that poll on May 18. One of my favorite pastimes is to look for closed threads and read them. So fun.
I have started looking at the different birth months for closed polls too!! They are usually good for a few minutes of entertainment!

I'm actually surprised that's still open to be honest

  • @rainafire77 so am I. If my gifs would ever work I may have participated
  • I want to throat punch my inlaws...all of them. DH's birthday is this week--so I told them that I was making a cake and letting DS decorate it.  "Adorable" my SIL said---then had her 4 year old make DH a cake yesterday.  On Saturday, I told MIL that we were getting DS a motorized gator for his birthday in October--yesterday at DH's family dinner--my MIL shows up with one.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!  Oh and I was told that next weekend (family wedding) I will be "needed to drive people back home from the reception"  GTFO.  I can't make this shit up.  I hate them.
A throat punch for each of them seems entirely appropriate. Ugh.
  • That is throat punch appropriate @magnolia305 Hey since you can't drink don't worry about enjoying the wedding.  Please be a free Uber.  I hope you told them no.
  • I'm hoping this is the week I don't get gassy and nauseated after eating lunch so I can actually exercise after work.

RE: the closed threads, somehow the crazies haven't really come out on our board yet so we're so quiet. Maybe now that I've said that, they've been summoned.

  • @rainafire77 I didn't even know you could buy one of those I'm so shocked! Going to exit this page right now and hunt one down haha
  • @magnolia305 OMG you are not a taxi service just because you can't drink! That's so rude!

I just remembered this story from the weekend I wanted to share: I had this gorgeous 2-inch thick NY strip steak from CostCo I was going to grill, and I set it out on the counter on a plate back against the wall while the grill heated up. I went to the living room to wait (kitchen/dining/living room is just one giant room in our townhouse). Both of our dogs were in the kitchen eating their food. After a few minutes one dog comes streaking in from the kitchen area (normally he meanders). A few seconds after that we stop hearing crunching noise from the dry food and hear squishing noises. I jump up to look and there's our other dog chomping away on my steak on the floor! Normally we'd blame him for grabbing it, but H and I did detective work--that dog is not long enough to reach where the steak was, let alone grab it off the plate without making a noise. Our other dog, however, IS long enough, but we always discount his ability to reach the counter because he only has one back leg. But man, that back leg is strong! I was so disappointed I didn't get to eat that steak. Lesson learned: put the food in the microwave while I wait!

  • @eggplantface my pregnancy hormones are causing me to speak in hypoerbole but that's the saddest story I've ever heard... RIP beautiful steak, we never even got the chance to know you...

(separately, we have two dogs and one is a MAJOR thief so I feel your pain!)
  • @magnolia305 My MIL definitely asked what I was getting DH for Christmas a few years ago and then got it for him!! A few weeks ago I was going to buy a toy for DD and she offered to pay for it. I was like sure, thank you. Well, she got upset when I gave it to DD! Um I was the one who was getting it for her because I knew she'd love it stop trying to steal my stuff!!

I totally feel you and I'm raging for you. If anyone told me they expected me to drive people around I'd laugh in their faces for sure.
  • @magnolia305 that is terrible, all of it! Just because you won't be drinking doesn't mean you won't be tired! I always make DH drive home from stuff even though I am sober, driving tired can be just as bad as driving drunk! I'm sorry you have to deal with them, I hope you can get out of it.

@psm2462 lol @ hyperbole, I would for sure have cried @eggplantface I am so protective of my food now. I almost dropped my soup in WF the other day and got teary thinking about what it would have been like to not have it.

  • So I had the first part of my genetic testing done in July. Found out with those results that was only half the test. So my last appt 8/24 I did the second draw. This was right before Hurrican Harvey. I called this morning bc I STILL didn't have results and she said they weren't in. Does this seem normal? Has anyone had it take that long? She didn't seemed concerned at all it had been over two weeks from the day I gave the sample. The first results only took about 3-4 business days.
  • Don't worry, I told her no to driving people home. I laughed and said, "Too late, I have already been hit up for rides and I won't be making extra trips".  I am gladly giving my best friend and her husband, as well as my brother and his gf a ride to/from the wedding.  DH's entire family is like that and are always pulling shit like that--I need to stop being upset/surprised.

@mpp06 I wonder if you will need to do a new draw?  Like, it was lost in the craziness?  I have no idea--but that sucks that you are having to wait so long!

@eggplantface I keep thinking it's strange we haven't had any craziness.  Maybe they are saving it for something epic??
  • @magnolia305 that is horrible. All of it. I'd be mad too.
  • @eggplantface Our Diva is a food thief and gives not a damn if we know. She has zero shame about it. We know not to leave food on the counter but she has gone so far as to jump up and knock down a pizza box we've had put up out of her reach...or so we thought.

  • These posts remind me of when my husky was a puppy and stole a whole cooked chicken from the table... Had to chase him around forever to get it back lol.

I'm eating my mom's lasagna for lunch. I have no idea how she makes it taste so good. It took me like 5 years to figure out her spaghetti sauce... you'd think making lasagna from it would be easy but it's never quite right!
  • I either want a really good chicken salad sandwich OR nachos for lunch. Struggle.
I hate them for you. They sound like my in laws. We can put them on in law island and then we can just hang out.
  • We are (hopefully) setting DD2's crib up tonight and moving the girls into their room this week.

I feel guilty being done bedsharing, but I cannot do it anymore. I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

The girls' room is in the other side of the house. DD1 has a full bed in there.
Do I go ahead and set up the crib or just let both girls share the full since they aren't used to sleeping alone?

We are going camping in the from Oct 5-8th. So, do I do all the work now and then bedshared while camping and then come home and fight them again?

Wheres the Guide to Parenting Handbook?
  • @TattoosandLace both my boys have their own bed but sometimes I find them sharing. I would give them the option so go ahead and put the other in the room as well. Good luck!!

I would have lost my shit. Wtf. I would have also pregnancy ugly cried to DH about it all so he would go to his family and put them in their place but that's just how I handle things. lol I usually sit there like yup he will pick me every time people so quit the shit. Let just say that mil has calmed down a lot recently with the shenanigans
  • @rainafire77 @clc515 The first time our three-legged dog got food he stole a pound of raw chicken breasts off the counter and we found him licking the styrofoam container, so at least we knew it was him and what he was capable of. The second time he managed to pull half a Domino's pizza off the top of the stove without moving the box so I came downstairs to just an empty box. I blamed our other, four-legged dog (because how's a tripod going to have the dexterity to leave the box??), until we took them outside and the tripod's poop smelled like oregano. He's just become super smart now, so he steals the food, gets a tiny bit, then flees the scene of the crime to leave our other dog to be the patsy. We're on to him!

  • @eggplantface Lol I am loving these dog stealing food stories! Your pizza box story reminds me of when I made deviled eggs for a party and put them on the coffee table. I had told DH (boyfriend at the time) not to worry about my dog (my most recent dog, not the husky) cuz she was VERY good around food. Not even a minute later we notice that 2 of the yolk parts of the eggs were missing, leaving the egg whites in tact, lol. Now DH looked at me like, yeeeaaaah she is really good around food.
  • I saw It over the weekend. I normally don't watch horror flicks at the movies, but DH wanted to see it. I thought it was a pretty good movie, and surprisingly enough, no nightmares!
  • @jennifer_m21 I'm re-reading the book in preparation for the movie... so excited! Glad to hear a good review :)

  • @TattoosandLace Where do I sign them up for inlaw island?? I feel like that could be a great reality show.

@SunflowerMama428  I totally ugly cried and said, "they will never go away"--I obvi didn't mean I wanted anything harmful towards them--I meant--they live RIGHT by us and never leave us alone.  He has a hard time putting his mom in her place--which just means that now he gets the freeze out at home...
Plusalso--good luck at your appointment Thursday! Fingers crossed Baby will be cooperative!   I will be waiting for an update!!
  • @magnolia305 I'm glad you told them no! And I sort of wondered the same with my bloodwork!

Another random: I had a lunch meat sandwich today as I have avoided lunch meat like the plague (I've gotten so paranoid with each pregnancy it's crazy), but I made one today heated and it was like the best sandwich. Lol! The little things!
  • I'm currently in a Facebook debate on a Scarry Mommy post telling people that yes dammit it is in fact rude to just walk up to a pregnant woman you don't know in a public place, rub her belly and ask her personal questions. They say I'm overreacting an missing the chance to have a new friend. I don't want a friend who doesn't respect boundaries and invades my personal space.

Oh also got told "Oh come off it. You know you got pregnant because you wanted the attention." No bitch I got pregnant because I wanted another child. If I wanted attention I'd walk down the street in a bikini holding a sign reading "Look at me!"

    I'm really disliking people today.
I'm sad people who think like this actually exist.

If this happens to me my only thought will be can I get arrested for grabbing this person's crotch because it's just as intrusive and offensive.
