Wasn't sure if this was random, a confession, a bitchfest or what. But y'all...I'm getting freaked out about this hurricane. I'm in the Tampa Bay area and the latest route shows Irma as almost a direct hit to us as a category 3 or 4. My family and baby are going to be safe, but I'm worried I'll come home to no roof or no house.

I'm glad you're all safe! I'm a catastrophe adjuster for an insurance company and the biggest take away from 6y years at this job for me has been that things are replaceable but people are not.

We are staying in the area, but are in a hotel built to easily withstand category 5 hurricanes. The structure has been through all the hurricanes in the last 30 years or so with no problems. It's a very nice hotel too (I think 5 star?) so that's a good distraction, hehe. Hope everyone else and your families are safe during the storm too!

I'm glad you were able to make it to the AS! I never got the call that they were cancelling mine and it is calm now, so maybe we lucked out!
Power is still out but that happens a lot to us. 4 days without power for Matthew.

In my area we did not get a whole lot of damage, but there was some. I saw trees blown over, branches in the road, lots of people without power and a roof or two that lost some shingles. The worst I saw was one tree fell on two cars and beat them up pretty bad.
At our house everything was perfect except that we lost power and some food may go bad. Oh well.
Overall in the area we just have to do cleanup, but the winds are done, the rain is done and no storm surge, woo!
Hope everyone else is recovering just fine too.
