Hey there TTGPers! How are things going? Let's do a casual check in, but if questions/structure help you, then here are the usual to use as guidelines:
How far along are you?
How are you feeling?
Any recent/upcoming appointments?

Re: TTGP Grad Check-In - 9/7
How are you feeling? not much has changed. Maybe a LITTLE less nausea, but then I had to concentrate really hard on not throwing up in the middle of the night last night - which is new. My skin is still freaking the eff out - like my skin hasn't been this bad since puberty - and I'm just about as emotional as I was during puberty too lol. Oh, and I'm having a slight aversion to drinking water, which is NOT like me at all, so I'm having to work extra hard to make sure I stay hydrated.
Any recent/upcoming appointments? We have our first OB appointment a week from tomorrow

@lund I'm having the water aversion too, which is also really weird for me. I usually drink crazy amounts of water (at least 100 oz a day) but plain water seems to make the nausea so much worse. So I've been trying flavored sparkling water and its helped increase my fluid intake a lot. This definitely didn't happen with my first pregnancy.
2.5 weeks until my OB appointment!

@lund @fishsticks-n-custard count me in on hating water right now. I have to put lemon slices in ice cold water to make it bearable and even then, blech. Also @lund : hi! I feel like it's been a long time since I saw you.
@JJMNO1616 So happy you had a great appointment! I love seeing these ultrasounds.
How far along are you? 10 weeks. Really eager to be over 1st tri.
How are you feeling? Working from home today because of nausea. And very sleepy.
Any recent/upcoming appointments? NT/BW on 9/27.
@fishsticks-n-custard that's great you can just do u/s like that! It's hard to see anything now but still nice!
@JJMNO1616 awww what a perfect little bean
@looeeze I hope you're doing ok!!
How far along are you? 7+1... finally! That 6th week took foreeeever
How are you feeling?
Just pooped. And work has been super busy. Which is good bc I don't notice until the day is over. But then I'm beyond non-functional from not resting. Should slow down now though thankfully.
Loooong story coming up... but it relates to pg I swear!
Let me tell you: early Saturday morning ERs are interesting! The doctors chased a man down the hall threatening to have him arrested bc he was too drunk to leave. He then ranted to everyone about how the government tries to make people alcoholics through advertising so they can make money off of them.
Anyway... I reluctantly had an X-ray (but what else can they do for me if I don't do that) and everything came back fine. I felt so dumb. Doctor said it's tendonitis but I said that doesn't usually come on quickly, does it? She said no, not usually but pregnancy can wreak havoc on joints for some reason. So I googled it at home and yep... she's right. I may get some details wrong here but there's pregnancy induced tendonitis. Relaxin (which I thought was just for your hips and ribs when you get bigger) is actually most prevalent in the first tri.
So good news, my wrist pain and swelling already went away (which made me feel even more dumb about going in). I hope this doesn't happen again.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? I have my first u/s next Tuesday at 7+6!!!!! So excited and nervous but thankfully it's in sight.
@looeeze hi! Yeah, I haven't been super active on this BMB, but I do like keeping up with my TTGP grads!
@cards10 sorry for your not-so-fun trip to the ER! I've definitely heard of pregnancy induced tendinitis, hopefully it doesn't become a 9 month long thing for you!

@looeeze I've been away for a whole, too, but glad to see you check in!
@JJMNO1616 what a great ultrasound!! Congrats!
@lund I can't even with the skin. I have a pizza face right now
@fishsticks-n-custard that's pretty awesome you can utilize an u/s at work. I feel like I'd be in there every day, ha
AFM: I'm 10+3 and feeling a lot better than I had been, thank god. I still get super tired in the afternoons but at least I'm not waking up in the morning already feeling like a bus hit me.
Going in for the blood draw for my Panorama screening on Monday, and in addition to all the genetic tests they'll run we're also opting to find out the sex. So we'll know what we're having less than three weeks from now! Which seems impossible. Hooray science!
Picture of what I mean in spoiler:
@looeeze I should try the lemon slices thing. So far I've been living off of Chic'fila lemonade. I was just that crazy woman who bought two gallons and brought them home.
@JJMNO1616 Look at the little nugget! So cute!!
@kmalls That's so awesome that you're going to find out so early! Hubbie and I have debated about it since it's about $500 out of pocket for us. I think I can wait two months because that's a big chunk of change.

@kmalls I go next week for Materni21 testing too. I forgot to even ask if it will include the sex but we decided not to find out. Maybe I will ask the lab.
@lund I mean if you believe all that old wives stuff maybe you are having a girl?? Sorry about your skin like you need something else to deal with in addition to nausea, bloat, emotions, tiredness etc etc hurry up second tri.
@fishsticks-n-custard So jealous you can give yourself a u/s ... I would probably be freaking just trying to find where my ute is lol
Also thank godd for La Croix or else I would never drink enough water.
AFM appt went well today! Baby was moving all around
@fishsticks-n-custard water is hard for me too right now.
@JJMNO1616 yay for a great ultrasound!
@looeeze I hope everything is ok
@kmalls that's awesome you can find out the sex so soon! All the genetic screening is OOP for us so we opted out of it.
@saralee797-2 I was drinking La Croix but I had to stop because it turned into an aversion for me. So sad.
AFM:
How far along are you? 10+3
How are you feeling? A little better I think. I have had horrible hip pain the past two days. Only 30 weeks to go.
Any recent/upcoming appointments? I had an appointment on Tuesday and the doctor used the doppler and he found the heartbeat at 179 (I think if I remember correctly) It was really amazing to hear it and assuring. I hate to have to wait another 4 weeks but I don't think I should buy a home doppler. I think the anxiety of not finding the heart beat because lack of expertise and hospital grade equipment might not be worth it.
edit: spelling
Aaaand now you've made me crave lemonade!
@saralee797-2 glad your u/s went well
@kmalls so psyched to see you here! Excited you are soon learning the sex. Are you leaning any direction? Any intuition? Nice to know having the oldz can be good for something
@lund holy crap, I am MORTIFIED by my skin right now. It's flipping out of control. I'm masking every night my husband doesn't even raise an eyebrow at the green goo on my chin anymore.
@lund and @fishsticks-n-custard and @looeeze I am so sorry for the water aversion. I'm drinking lots of hot water and sometimes herbal tea and for some reason that's ok. One thing that always works for me when I'm really trying to focus on water intake is mint. That really helps me throw it back. Maybe bc my brain smells mint and thinks it's its best friend mojitos. So that might just be specific to me!
@JJMNO1616 HUGE CONGRATS on being right on track, that must feel like a wave of relief washing over you. I'm new to looking at ultrasounds but it looks very lively to me!
@cards10 oh no. Under normal circumstances that's a non fun adventure. But being pregnant I feel like adventure is the last thing we need. Try to get some rest if you can, maybe sneak a nap?
@saralee797-2 so glad you had a great appointment and that your baby is moving and shaking. Must be feeling awesome!

I'm at 7w6d, and *TW* have passed the point of my miscarriage which feels good *TW*
Im feeling less nauseous than last week except at night. I don't love how I'm eating and would like to get a little healthier.
I am on the plane right now on my way back from New York home to LA for a work trip.
On the flight over over here Tuesday, I managed to split my front tooth, which has a crown on it in half!!!! Eating a damn frozen yogurt pop. I landed at 6pm and managed to find an emergency dentist who sealed it back on. I mean, of course it came right back out when I ate a croissant the next day at the conference. I had to find another dentist to seal it on a bit more firmly. Imagine me running uptown with a grimace!
I have an appointment to get the crown replaced tomorrow in LA, but you know I was googling lidocaine and whatnot to see if numbing the tooth is going to kill my baby. I also lobbed a call into my doctors office for his advice. You guys, he is the sweetest. He left me a long reassuring message. I see him next Tuesday!
lets just say I'm eating all of the carbs...carefully.
How far along are you? 10w6d
How are you feeling? Good! This past weekend was rough, but the past couple of days I've basically felt normal. Even the bloat is subsiding a bit, so today I was able to wear my belt on its old setting for like half the day!
Any recent/upcoming appointments? Next week I go in for the Harmony blood draw.

@cards10 That's such a bizarre symptom! I would have had no idea either.
@kmalls I think I am going to get a blood test to find out the sex at my next appointment in 4 weeks! It's crazy the things they can do. We also talked to a patient financial counselor at my Dr. office today and she told us we should just pay for the genetic testing out of pocket and not even bill the insurance because it will actually be cheaper. I thought that was weird.
@saralee797-2 Glad to hear your appt went well!
@mispanda I agree with the other posters that the doppler would make me go cray cray.
@stalkinghorse Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your tooth! Hopefully it can be fixes once and forall soon. Dental problems are the worst.
@hedgepig Hope you have a great anniversary!!
@hedgepig happy anniversary
I haven't been suffering from super bad PGAL brain lately. I think I've been too busy and tired to really think about it. And it's been nice. But last night I had a dream that I was bleeding when I went to the bathroom. And I had this dream once last week too. Why the eff am I dreaming about going to the bathroom?! I guess my subconscious is still worried about it. The dream was real enough that I woke up worried and at first couldn't tell if it was a dream or I really woke up in the middle of the night and that was real. My Tue u/s, and hopefully some reassurance, cant come soon enough!
@fishsticks-n-custard I hope the time flies until your appt and that you're feeling better by then too!
@JJMNO1616 Look at that adorable little bean!
@looeeze I miss you too! Glad to see you here, and glad that this thread can be a safe place
@cards10 Yay for your appt next week! Sorry about the tendonitis.... I have definitely had some weird unexplained joint pain, including my wrist, and came to the same conclusion about the relaxin. Glad you're feeling better! Also, telling my folks was awesome - they are sooooo excited!!! It was really fun
@kmalls Glad you're feeling better too! Also, how did your parent meeting go?
@saralee797-2 I'm so happy for your good U/S with your LO wiggling all around!
@mispanda I'm very jealous of you getting to hear the heartbeat - apparently we will get that at the first midwife appt, but I don't know when that will be yet.
@stalkinghorse Sorry about your tooth! What awful timing!

@kmalls that is tough. DD should start preschool when shes 3 but only if I can get her to potty train. They won't take anyone it diapers which I totally get but my child hates underwear and the toilet.
@cards10 sorry about those kind of dreams, they are the worst. I hope Tuesday comes quickly for you!
@kmalls That's pretty exciting! Are you doing a reveal or anything, or keeping it to yourself?
@fishsticks-n-custard Mmm now I've got a craving for Chik-Fil-A...
@mispanda Agree about the anxiety a home doppler would cause. So happy that you got to hear a strong heartbeat! Did it help your PGAL brain?
@stalkinghorse Yes, the mint helps. I've just been using that as an excuse to eat a ton of junior mints
GUYS!! I found the fetal pole and heart beat today at work! I'm so excited.
*TW* I've never had a loss and don't even pretend that I understand that pain, but doing what I do, I've been around a lot of loss and watched my sister go through two so it's been constantly in the back of my mind. I literally broke down crying when I saw that heartbeat. I'm so happy. *end TW*

and you just gave me serious flashbacks to 2005 when I lived in Atlanta and sat in the chik-fil-a drive in line for like 10 minutes saying "helloooo?" Until I realized it was Sunday. Face palm. I was from MI and had no idea about the closed on Sunday thing lol

...and no, my pregnant friend and her two little boys and her husband did not get out of Miami. They lost power as of 7pm last night. I'm scared for them, though I'm hoping the shift in location of the storm saves them from the worst of it.
Speaking of the shift, my parents have a first floor condo in Naples -- which is now getting SLAMMED. Thankfully they're snowbirds and are still up here in MA, but they have little hope the condo will come out of this unscathed. So many people have it so much worse, though, so they're just thankful a condo is just a thing and they are physically safe.
NIPT is more accurate either of those, so an NT scan isn't totally necessary. That being said, I'm having my Panorama blood draw on Monday and my NT scan on Friday -- not entirely sure why. It seems like overkill.
Edited for clarity

Hearing it did help PGAL brain but then afterwards my anxiety came back because I have to wait 4 weeks to my next appointment. I'm just going about my days now trying not to focus on anything because if something is going to happen it's out of my control.
@fishsticks-n-custard so happy you found that heartbeat! It's a great feeling when you see it.
I have a headache that Tylenol won't touch and I'm currently trying an ice pack on the back of my neck. Really putting a kink into the start of the weekend. Better not ruin my shopping plans tomorrow!!!
@JJMNO1616 the evening sickness is so horrible, I hope that crap is behind you soon.
Also, I loooove Costco runs so that sounds awesome.
AFM: Kids are in bed and hubs is out picking up Chinese food. We're heading to a big animal preserve/farm that randomly has an epic splash park with the kids tomorrow. It's fun for them but also completely exhausting for us. Well, me, really.
Sunday morning my husband has a baseball game that we'll go to, then we're taking the kids to a truck day event in town. It's all fire trucks and police cars that the kids can climb in.
Lord, give me strength
@JJMNO1616 Ugh, I have the evening sickness too. Been dry heaving intermittently for the last hour.
@kmalls That sounds like an awesome weekend! I hope y'all have fun.
AFM, working overnight tonight and then a birthday party tomorrow (assuming I can wake up in time to go!)
