How old are your other kids? DS turned 3 in May
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM+ or questions about things your children are going through now? I don't think DS is sleeping enough. He has been waking when we do in the morning, around 5:45. Napping is hit or miss at school, but when he doesn't, he falls asleep in the car on the 10 minute drive home and is a beast until bedtime (7:30-8:00). I am also worried about being this nauseous and throwing up when trying to parent.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : DS is very interested in the fact that his BFF is getting a little brother soon. He keeps telling me he wants one. We haven't told him that we are expecting yet because he can't keep a secret, so we are waiting until we are ready to tell more people. I think he will be a sweet big brother and want to help.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Rant- morning sickness has appeared. Only 6 weeks and 6 days until it hopefully goes away. Rave- DH got me a new band for my Apple Watch for my birthday and I love it.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM+ or questions about things your children are going through now? Getting through the tired and nauseated stage while still having to cook and take care of my girls. MH works second shift so I'm on my own M-F from around 4pm until bedtime.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : We still haven't officially told the girls because they'll repeat it to someone, I'm sure. But I've been hinting at it and I'm not sure they "get it" anyway. I'm excited for when I start to show and they can understand what's going on.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: I still have to cook for them, even though I'm not hungry, right??

I'm nervous about being out numbered by little ones! My three-year-old also started preschool today and there's a whole new set of worries with that.

Even though this happened a bit earlier than planned, the baby fever has been STRONG for both my husband I for over a year now, so we are definitely enjoying the happiness we are feeling right now.

DD2 is newly potty trained. She insisted on no pull up for bed last night so DH agreed. She peed ev-er-y-where. I'm so scared of potty training regressions once new baby comes.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
I'm just really enjoying this pregnancy. Everything about it just feels so right. I treated myself to a pedi for the first time in too long and tried a new salon, the woman was so kind and told me I was glowing and asked if I was pregnant. It made me beam.

My stomach is my biggest rant. I'm so tired of feeling hungry, then eating and feeling too full. I'm tired of waking up needing to eat but can't eat.

How to juggle bedtime! DD likes to play with my hair until she falls asleep, which takes anywhere from 30 mins to an hour, depending on her tired level. This isn't going to work once baby gets here!
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
Getting in better shape! I've gained a lot of weight over the last year and Dr. approved for me to get my health back on track while pregnant.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions:
I hate being pregnant while eating healthier! Veggies and fruits are so good for me, but I don't want anything to do with them right now. Even if I stuff myself with healthy foods, I'm still craving anything fried, chocolate, and all around not-good! I can't tell if it's diet related or pregnancy related cravings!

Stressing bc our LO has to have eye surgery next week, so between being nervous and being nauseous it is very hard to eat right now. But my husband is extremely supportive and helpful with all my stress!

@sandbar517 Cereal for dinner is totally acceptable in my house. It's actually my DH's dessert most nights.... he's weird.

@yesthisiskim0401 A pedi sounds so nice. Although I think I spent my extraneous budget this month already on Bath & Body Works candles over the weekend.
@kgj77 DS often gets drug into our bed if he wakes up at night for any reason. I feel like a bad parent for saying it's easier than trying to figure out why he woke up crying. Maybe with the baby bump growing it will become so uncomfortable a situation that your DD will be open to alternatives
@zizzabell523 I feel you on the bed time troubles. DS has to sit in my lap while he calms down for sleep. It won't be able to last too much longer, and I don't know what to do. Here's to crossing every appendage I have for both of us

@firefliesandfjords good luck for the first day of school! I was a wreck the first time we sent DS, but it is the best thing ever for him. He loves school so much!
@yesthisiskim0401 DS wore pull-ups at night and nap until a few months ago and he's been potty trained for a little over a year. Hopefully by the time this LO comes your DD will be so comfortable with using the potty that it will be NBD.
@zizzabell523 I hear you about the food issues. I essentially eat like a toddler in first tri. Gimme all the carbs.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM+ or questions about things your children are going through now? I still have to hold DS all the time, even though he's been walking for 3 months now. He always wants to see what's going on at our height and it's starting to wear on my back and hips already. I need to find a solution to give him a better vantage point to the counter, especially while DH & I are prepping dinner, that doesn't involve the high chair. Unfortunately that thing seems to have a time limit for DS
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I'm really just trying to enjoy DS right now. There's so much time in this pregnancy left, and I don't want to miss any of the time I have with DS as my main focus because I was too focused on the future

3 and 15 months
I'm having a potty training debate. I think I'm going to try pting #2 around 18-20 months. I know it's early but he's interested already and I'm really afraid if I wait he'll decide to do it on his own when we're moving next year. His brother decided to pt when I was 38 weeks last time lol.
In better news, molar one is finally through and he's sttn the last two nights.

Between 4-5 weeks. My periods are irregular so I never really know.

Challenge #1 is telling my parents. They're...opinionated..in ways they shouldn't be. They know we were about to start trying but this happened so fast that I'm kinda at a loss on how to share. I was so scared that I told them at 20 weeks last time.

DD LOVES babies and I know she's going to be so excited.

@mileswithmyles How did I miss your orginial post? See my comments to artlea about car naps. Ugh. Also, I wish I had a meat aversion. Someone either on here or TTGP (I still lurk there a lot) mentioned a Red Robin burger and now all I want is a big, bloody, rare hamburger or steak. Yum.
@yesthisiskim0401 Our girls are fully trained during the day, and one of them has been waking up dry every once in a while over the past few weeks, but there is no way I'm dealing with changing wet sheets every day. I contemplated doing the full cold-turkey-no-diapers/pull ups plan for all of five seconds. Night-time pull ups for the win. It was only a few months ago that we finally stopped doing pull ups during naps for the same reason.
@char245 Fingers crossed for LOs eye surgery next week. Thinking good thoughts for you.
@tincupchalice good luck with the potty training. It's such a good sign that he's showing interest already. I did a modified three day method (you can just google it if interested) and it worked really well for my girls.

I picked C up from daycare yesterday and he was talking to the infants through the window that separates their rooms. When we left he said "bye babies, see you soon babies" haha it was so cute I couldn't take it. I know he'll be excited to find out he'll be a big brother soon!

Totally agree with PP about the crazy fatigue. I'm so tired, everything is taking me so long to get done. I don't remember being this tired last time, but I didn't have a toddler last time either so there's that haha

DS1 is 5 and DS2 is 16 months
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM+ or questions about things your children are going through now?
Definitely nervous about being outnumbered and having a barely 2 year old and a newborn. DS2 still takes 2 naps a day and is showing no signs of wanting to change that. DS1 dropped to 1 at his first birthday so this is new to me. Also debating about potty training prior to the baby as he's very interested already and hates diapers.

DS1 already knows and is so excited about the new baby. He really wants a baby sister.

I parked near an ant hill and didn't realize it and now there's ants in my car in the panels. We've been trying everything to get rid of them and I just went to pick up DS1 and they suddenly spread and are all over the kids car seats. Add in hormones and I'm sitting in the garage crying waiting for DH to get home and cancelling all our appointments for the afternoon.

Also, mine were both potty trained before 2, don't be scared! If they seem ready go for it. My 22mo was Day trained at 20m. She still wears them at night but often wakes up dry, so we'll drop the night diapers soon too!
@yesthisiskim0401 - Ugh! I am right with you! My youngest is just getting the hang of potty training. I also worry about regression.

@poppy0419 - I am sorry that it is so tough to tell your parents. My MIL never has had the reaction that we wanted when we have told her in the past. She comes around but the initial part sucks

F-ing sleep. As in, he still gets up once a night and wants me to lay with him. I'm SO tired. He's a good napper, just fights nighttime. Also, potty training. He'll go at daycare, and occasionally here, but not consistently. Trying to not make it a big deal.

@createmagic14 I was dry heaving in the bushes at a school site today and go some interesting looks from some high schoolers.
@heelsidehero I'm happy to hear you had a good experience. I've only had one interaction with the nursing staff over the phone so far and she was great!
@sandbar517 I just switched to a similar shift (5pm-3am) so DH had both kids for the nighttime routine four nights a week plus pick ups plus soccer practice. Neither of us are thrilled with the shift.
@firefliesandfjords I'm also worried about being very outnumbered by littles.
@yesthisiskim0401 DS1 was daytime potty trained for almost a full year before we got rid of the pull-ups overnight.

@artlea2013 my 16 month old has been walking since 11 months and still wants to be held all the time, especially when cooking. The rlp is killing me.

DH finally pulled some panels and found a mini nest in the weather stripping and pulled the car seats and found a lollipop stick between the plastic and cover on DS1's car seat they were after. With lots of ant spray, essential oil spray and vacuuming hopefully they'll be gone soon!

They've been asking us for months to have a "baby brother"... but I'm concerned with how they will react when it is actually happening.

This hurricane prep is bullshit. I live far enough north that we're not going to be affected very heavily. I had to go to seven stores today for water, and only found twelve bottles of smart water, and two 16 packs of 8oz Dasani. Shouldn't be an issue, but we can't drink the water from the well at our house, and we're almost out of water.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Random question: as a STM do they do all the same screening as round 1 like the Rhogam, blood type, etc? I'm sure this varies from doctor to doctor but just curious. I'm all for one less blood test.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: When my husband got my daughter out of bed this morning, she had her bunny under her shirt like a baby and said it was her "pink sister." She does not know she's getting a sibling yet. It was just so cute!
