  • @sandbar517 I ate so much cereal for dinner last pregnancy.  I am just waiting for my meat aversion to kick in that basically makes it impossible for me to cook.

@firefliesandfjords good luck for the first day of school!  I was a wreck the first time we sent DS, but it is the best thing ever for him.  He loves school so much!

@yesthisiskim0401 DS wore pull-ups at night and nap until a few months ago and he's been potty trained for a little over a year.  Hopefully by the time this LO comes your DD will be so comfortable with using the potty that it will be NBD.

@zizzabell523 I hear you about the food issues.  I essentially eat like a toddler in first tri.  Gimme all the carbs.

@char245 what is the surgery for?  GL!

@artlea2013 car naps are the worst!
  • @artlea I totally feel you on the car naps.  I get so excited if we make it from my MILs house to ours (about a 15 min. drive) with neither of my girls falling asleep.  I swear if they get even a 5 minute nap, they'll be up until 10, 10:30, easily.  And I also feel you on the carrying.  Mine are 3 and still want to be carried ALL. the. time.  And they like to sit on my kitchen counter to "help" and watch.  I stopped fighting with them, because it's the only way I can get dinner cooked half the time.  The kitchen helper looks awesome, but there's no way we could fit two in our kitchen, or no way they would both sit in one.  They're usually really good about sharing and taking turns, but they are still toddlers after all!  :D
@mileswithmyles How did I miss your orginial post?  See my comments to artlea about car naps.  Ugh.  Also, I wish I had a meat aversion.  Someone either on here or TTGP (I still lurk there a lot) mentioned a Red Robin burger and now all I want is a big, bloody, rare hamburger or steak.  Yum.
@yesthisiskim0401 Our girls are fully trained during the day, and one of them has been waking up dry every once in a while over the past few weeks, but there is no way I'm dealing with changing wet sheets every day.  I contemplated doing the full cold-turkey-no-diapers/pull ups plan for all of five seconds.  Night-time pull ups for the win.  It was only a few months ago that we finally stopped doing pull ups during naps for the same reason.
@char245 Fingers crossed for LOs eye surgery next week.  Thinking good thoughts for you.
@tincupchalice good luck with the potty training.  It's such a good sign that he's showing interest already.  I did a modified three day method (you can just google it if interested) and it worked really well for my girls.

  • Get a helper stool for the kitchen!

Also, mine were both potty trained before 2, don't be scared! If they seem ready go for it. My 22mo was Day trained at 20m. She still wears them at night but often wakes up dry, so we'll drop the night diapers soon too!
  • @char245 good luck!  Our son had to be put under in January this year. The nursing staff made it so much more bearable!  Fingers crossed you receive just as much support and all goes well!

Thanks @mileswithmyles that makes me feel like we are doing the right thing! Sometimes it's so hard to be a parent!

@heelsidehero I'm happy to hear you had a good experience. I've only had one interaction with the nursing staff over the phone so far and she was great!
  • @TeacherMom2015 when will you make the decision to stay or go? Hope everything goes well!! I keep trying to get my aunt to leave and come stay with us but she's riding it out  :/

I'm nervous about nursing through the newborn phase with a toddler in tow.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :

    Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions:
This hurricane prep is bullshit. I live far enough north that we're not going to be affected very heavily. I had to go to seven stores today for water, and only found twelve bottles of smart water, and two 16 packs of 8oz Dasani. Shouldn't be an issue, but we can't drink the water from the well at our house, and we're almost out of water.

  • @zaclina I agree about the aggression.  Yesterday, a huge man kept getting in my personal space.  I asked him to stop, and he called me a fat b**ch!  I held on to a big belly after my last pregnancy, so I told him, "I'm pregnant.  What's your excuse?"  Hey, it was true!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM+ or questions about things your children are going through now?  Ugh this threenager stage is TOUGH. Hoping it passes before baby gets here.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I might actually know what I'm doing this time around.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Random question: as a STM do they do all the same screening as round 1 like the Rhogam, blood type, etc? I'm sure this varies from doctor to doctor but just curious. I'm all for one less blood test.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for? Napping.
  • @momo214 - Preach! I am dealing with a threenager right now too :/
  • @char245 we'll decide by Sunday, we should know more then.
