Irma is projected to hit St. Kitts tonight. I'm so anxious for my friends there.
How do you know people from there, if you don't mind me asking. One of my best friends went to Veterinarian school at Ross University. I visited while she was there. It's a beautiful island. But I don't know if anything will survive with the size of this Hurricane.

Yes we are in Houston! We were largely okay. My sisters car was in a shop that's totally under water but that was our only loss. We have friends like 2 miles away that lost their homes though.
@SarahFoley725 wow! So sorry for your sister and friends but so glad you are all ok! That was one crazy storm! I was so scared we would flood where I'm at but we didn't get nearly the rain they thought we would. I didn't think it was ever going to stop for you guys.
We're in central FL, keeping an eye on Irma. We're going to leave on Thursday if it looks like it's coming here. I went through 4 back-to-back hurricanes in 2004. @mpp06 you are right- once you've witnessed that destruction you don't forget. Praying for everyone dealing with Harvey's aftermath and in Irma's path.
@BrittaniLC most Caribbean islands are used to hurricanes as this is the season for them. There is a lot of damage but their way of life is kind built for this. Puerto Rico is supposed to be hit right at its peak the last time I saw and I'm worried about my family but that's also why their houses are designed the way it is. To withstand Mother Nature like this. The people are kind of crazy as survivalist. I don't know how my family hasn't all left yet.
@chucksmom15 and @precious88. I'm central florida, too, and waiting for tomorrow night's updates before making a call one way or the other. Right now, we are fully prepped/stocked to hunker down, but also won't hesitate to leave if the tracks get worse.
My husband can't leave because of his job, so it's a bit stressful to think I may have to pack our 3 while pregnant and leave him here.
My two girls are in preschool today and I have so much cleaning to do but I feel a migraine coming on. Anyone else get frequent headaches? I'm sure I should probably drink more water but I already feel like I'm drinking my weight! I haven't had a migraine in years but I fear this is the beginning of one!
Also, thinking of everyone in Irmas path. I can't believe this is happening again!

DD2 and I caught colds the first day so we spent a lot of time in the camper while everyone else had fun. Still a secret from the inlaws. DH is wanting to wait until the anatomy scan on 9/18.

@seitzy3 As soon as I hit tri2 I began getting migraines that would last all day until I slept and then would come back as soon as I woke up, only lasted about 2 weeks though so hopefully doesn't last long for you either. It's normal I guess with the constant increase of hormones as well blood volume Your doctor could give you something for it if it's gets really bad Migraines suck
My dad went down to St. Kitts to help build a church over 40 years ago and then went down to help with vacation bible school every year after that until he died. I joined him on a few trips in high school. I contemplated going to school on the island.
I wonder if the inlaws suspect and question who all in the family SIL3 told, but no one has questioned DH about it. He is still really hurt over what happened when DD2 was born so he says they can find out thru the grapevine. Which I think will just cause more drama. We need to announce decently soon after the anatomy scan so I can get a sub lined up at the co-op.

Didn't love how my nails turned out when I tried to do them on Monday, so completely redid them today. I'm gonna try to keep doing my own toes until I can't, then off to a professional!
I went to a short work meeting and there was a guy in there with a service dog. He sniffed my leg as I walked by and I felt his cold nose on my leg. It made my whole day.

Dogs make me so happy. It's taking a whole lot of will power to not adopt a dog here to make room for the Harvey animals at the shelter... But I promised DH no pets again til at least baby is born! Must. Stay. Strong.
DH is not allowed to visit the shelter or humane society because every time he does he comes home with an animal. We have three dogs, 1 cat, 1 rabbit, 16 chickens and three tanks of fish. The fish are looking for a new home if anyone in Northern California is interested! Lol

If you name him Batman, find a husky w a mask! My dog growing up was a husky and while he was a handful as a puppy, he was beautiful and i loooved him! Who can say no to a husky!
A few weeks ago we were driving by a pet expo with our pups and were tempted to stop, but when I mentioned there were rescue organizations there with dogs to adopt we had to back away. It's too tempting to come home with a third and we have firmly agreed we can only have two dogs + baby. Firmly. Most likely.

@rainafire77 before kids I spent my free time volunteering at animal shelters and being a doggie foster mom. I miss it so much. I still donate to my local shelters all the time but I literally can't go in there because I would come home with so many dogs. Seeing the Harvey dogs coming in from Houston is making my heart ache and I want them ALL!
I'm sitting in my kids' school pickup line and I am STARVING. These next 15 minutes are going to go by so slowly... Definitely going to a drive thru from here!
Already thinking about what snacks I can bring on my flight tomorrow morning. We're on a Southwest flight where we stay on at the layover. Those peanuts are not going to cut it
So I just got chewed out for following the rules. I work at a winery and there are federal and state laws regarding the shipment of wine never mind basic commerce transportation laws surrounding bills of lading for truck drivers. We have one customer who pitches a fit about paying taxes, pitches a fit if you ask for details that you need, demands all these special things be done for him, oh and doesn't pay his bills. I told our orders department that no, we can't manipulate paperwork to help him get around certain rules and got chewed out for it. Apparently, we're supposed to do whatever we can to do this guys work for him when we don't do that for anyone else. I'm so ready to give everyone here the middle finger and walk out.
