So one of the groomsman in our wedding (a high school friend of DH) is getting married October. We got the invitation in the mail this week. It's a destination wedding and we are conflicted about going. They traveled for our wedding and we would love to be there for theirs. Only downside is it is going to be expensive and not sure if DH can get two days off from work. If he can't we would be traveling all day Friday and Sunday (it's a 3 hour drive after you fly). Plus everyone else made travel arrangements in May. Was this just a courtesy invite???
@chucksmom15 If everyone else got invited way back and May and you just got yours now it does sound like a courtesy invite. Either that or they sent it to the wrong address first. (But you'd think they would have at least called on that one!) Isn't this the thing where they invite at the last minute and expect you to not show but send a gift? Have they been watching 90s sitcoms?

I think everyone got invites at the same time but obviously they got details in May since they booked a hotel then. No registry so I don't think it's for gifts. Just wondering if they won't be shocked if we don't go.
Where's the destination? Like a Zika type place? Did you get a save the date a while ago? It sounds like a courtesy invite since I thought the etiquette of destination weddings is 2-3 months out (we did 3 months out for ours, and a save the date like 6 months before hand) because of travel plans. If it was just immediate family who had the hotel reservations back in May, fine... but if almost everyone else did, it does seem like a courtesy. Or a (FYI i hate this terminology) 2nd tier invite (where someone on their first tier couldn't come so there's space). Can your husband talk to his friend to see if they really expect it given it's hard to get time off?

@chucksmom15 ugh that's annoying! I'd be peeved too that everyone else had information in May. I probably would not go due to it being last minute and you may not enjoy yourself if you're thinking about being invited as an after thought.
This happened to me too! I had a hard time figuring out how to sign out and back in on the app. I was wondering what I did wrong in case it was a mini ban as well!
Yeah...I got a Brazilian in my first pregnancy. I had done it for years, but swelled up like a balloon down there afterwards for the first time and could barely walk. And no sex for a week. One star - do not recommend.
@SarahFoley725 just quit shaving all together! Oh wait, it's short season all year where you live! Never mind. Sorry you had to find out the hard way waxing sucks during pregnancy.
I stopped getting waxes last fall because I was doing IUIs and on progesterone suppositories, which made things gross, then after that I'd get my period, so it was difficult to schedule and not on my list of priorities. Once I started IVF I just stopped caring about anything else because it felt so all consuming. My waxer just texted me after all these months to see how I am and ask if I want to come in, and I feel terrible saying no. I've been going to her for 10+ years but the hour-long drive to her place annoys the crap outta me now! And if it's going to hurt more, plus I can't take ibuprofen beforehand to help, I don't want to do it anymore.

I just died laughing at all these waxing comments! So hilarious. I have also never had a wax experience without pain. One time I made my own sugar wax... also not even a little bit pain free.
@chucksmom15 do you want to go? Just curious bc I know we just traveled bc of the hurricane and I told my husband, I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE ELSE THE REST OF THIS PREGNANCY! Obviously if we had to travel I would, but it wasn't pleasant. This is my 6th pregnancy though so I'm way more sore already than my previous.
To the other posts, I got locked out too and just about never figured out how to get back in to be able to comment and wax...O that sounds painful right about now.
I use the cold wax strips and do my own bikini line, but just like to clean up the line, still pretty natural in terms of shape and amount. We watched Rough Night a few nights ago and they all make fun of Scarlet Johansson's character for waxing herself and I was like SAME girl, its great! I also use them to wax my own arms. I personally can't wait for colder weather so I can stop shaving my legs, that's the worst for me in terms on sensitive skin. Also everything is super dry now, and I anticipate it just getting worse the colder it gets
DD has been waking up insanely early. 5 is the average but yesterday was 4!! DH and I have been swapping off laying with her while she watches YouTube. DH is finally going back to work today after being off for a week and a half from Harvey. I'm going to be so tired.
I would love to be able to go @mpp06 because they are great people and I would love to support them. But booking flights 5 weeks out is expensive and there is a 3 hour car ride tacked on each way after we fly.
My genius brother who lives in Florida is planning to ride out category 5 Irma so they can protect their stuff.
My nurse/midwife told us at the last appointment we'll most likely being doing an RCS which means this LO will have the same birthday as DS!! I'll be at the same hospital same day 3 years later having our second baby
@chucksmom15 ya that just doesn't sound pleasanr at this point. We had a few days of 3 hr car rides and I was so uncomfortable. I'm sure they totally understand if you don't go. And PLEASE tell your brother to take advice from someone who was super close to where Harvey hit, leave! It isn't worth it. He can't do anything to protect his stuff from wind. Harvey was bad bc of the winds and then all the rain, but Rockport and Port Aransas had a TON of leveled homes. It's so not worth it to stay. I don't say all this to scare you, but until the storm comes no one realizes how bad it is then it's too late to leave. It's a pain to pack up and leave and worry but in the end he is so much more important than his stuff. ❤️

DD2 and I caught colds the first day so we spent a lot of time in the camper while everyone else had fun. Still a secret from the inlaws. DH is wanting to wait until the anatomy scan on 9/18.
Oh we told him he is insane @mpp06. We live in Louisiana so we know a hurricane is nothing to play with. My Dad told him to put whatever they can't live without on their trailer and come over here but they are being stubborn. They think it will fizzle before it gets to Orlando bc it will hit land.
This Harvey stuff and now Irma is just so much to comprehend. I keep watching news and thinking, it's gonna take how long to clean this all up? There are places that are still flooded? And Irma is bigger and that's coming our way? I think it's the pregnancy hormones but I cry at like every newscast I see about it.
@chucksmom15 I pray he is right and it's nothing or completely misses them. @TattoosandLace will say a prayer for your friend. Ive been thinking of all those people on those small islands. Where we are we were able to leave relatively quickly, but there isn't really any place for them to go unless they go by plane, right? Now there is another storm that just got named after Irma, Jose. And it looks like he's just following right behind her.
@clc515 yes, we still have lots of areas where people are displaced because it's still flooded! It's going to be a long and tough recovery and now other people are going to have to go through it too. It's awful.
Update: not very smart brother has compromised that on Friday if it still looks bad they will go to a friend's in Atlanta. Guess that's better than before but oh the traffic they will sit in.
I worry about all the people on those islands @TattoosandLace. They can't just drive somewhere into safety. I hope your friends are ok.
