Re: Saturday Ticker Change 9/2

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    7 weeks! Blueberry!

    How are you feeling?
Like absolute garbage. Morning sickness is the worst it's been this morning and even though I slept for nearly 9 hours (a rare luxury in our household) I feel exhausted. Bleh.

    Any appointments coming up?
Yes!  First ultrasound on Tuesday afternoon.  I cannot wait. So excited and anxious!

    Rants, raves, questions?
Why is the first trimester the longest period of time in the history of the earth?

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
We live in LA for career reasons and I think it's actually a very underrated, lovely city that is getting better every year. My favorite part about the city is random though: I went to college here and, since I majored in film, almost all of my friends from college stayed in town. So I have a group of friends who I've known for almost 20 years.  It's so wonderful to see us all grow up together, get married, have kids. Hell, my freshman year roommate turned best friend lives around the corner and babysits my daughter.  It's awesome.  Worst part: housing prices. They're insane and the market's at a 9 year high so we...are renting still!  Ugh.

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    8 weeks, a kidney bean

    How are you feeling?
Fairly lousy most of the time.  Constantly nauseous.

    Any appointments coming up?
Finally have my first appointment on Tuesday morning.

    Rants, raves, questions?
    Unisom is a lifesaver.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
I have a beach in my town.  I love living by the water.  Least?  I wish we had some healthier shopping options.  Would love a Trader Joes or Whole Foods in town.

@fancybelmont I'll be asking my OB about Unisom on Tuesday. Cannot wait.  Feeling so awful this morning.

How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    9 weeks, cherry

    How are you feeling?
Was in ER last night, so now I have a new prescription for nausea. Here's hoping the pill form works because the other option is rectal suppositories.

    Any appointments coming up?
I have an orientation at my birth center this week.

    Rants, raves, questions?
My bio book sold out at the bookstore, so I'm home avoiding nausea with medication while the kids are holed up in their dorm rooms with their books, walking distance from the library that has the book.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
Our library system is great. I've been able to get every book people have recommended on here through them.
We moved here for school, and I hate being far away from family.
  • @allowachick Wow, really hope the pill works so you don't have to do the other option!

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    6 weeks sweet pea!

    How are you feeling?
exhausted but otherwise I don't even feel pregnant yet.

    Any appointments coming up?
my first appointment is September 25. I'm so anxious!

    Rants, raves, questions?
my rant is at my vet bill this morning. Fur babies are almost as expensive as real babies.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
Favorite thing is being close to family. Least favorite is my commute to work.

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    9 weeks, a cherry

How are you feeling? So very tired and nauseous constantly! Pretty frequent headaches.

Any appointments coming up? Next appointment is a few weeks away.

Rants, raves, questions? For those of you who take unisom.... does it make you really tired the next morning?

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live? Love that we are walking distance to the lake and so close to so many activities for the family. Hate we are 12 hours away from any family members!
  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    6 weeks; lentil

    How are you feeling?
Medium-crappy. I was prepared for the traditional morning sickness--food aversions and puking--but I don't have any of that (yet!!), thank goodness. Instead I just feel like I have a low-grade hangover that never goes away. Some nausea, a bit dizzy/wobbly, tired, just blegghhhh. It was intermittent for awhile, but for the last few days I've felt like this 24/7. It's not so bad I feel like I have to stay in bed, but I'm finding it really hard to be productive.

    Any appointments coming up?
First ultrasound on Tuesday! A lot of us will be going then, it looks like. Hope we all have great appts!

    Rants, raves, questions?
(TW) I don't know if this is a rant, exactly. I'm a PGAL, so I bounce around between excitement and terror, but DH is fully in the optimism camp. When we got home from the ER after my MC, he went out to get Chinese food, sour patch kids, and wine, and while he was driving to the store he saw a rainbow. He's taken it as a sign that our next pregnancy would stick. I love his optimism (and I think it's good for me), but sometimes I wish I felt like he shared my apprehension, or at least understood it more. I'm not really a "signs" kind of person. (/TW)

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
We live in the northeast, and there are a lot of beautiful places near us--parks, waterfalls, trails, etc. And housing is cheap in our town. But I wish we had better restaurants!!! They're so mediocre.
    History (TW/loss/child):

    7/2017 -- miscarriage at 6w
    5/2018 -- DS born 3 days after due date, 8lb 4oz
    9/2020 -- missed miscarriage at 9w / DNC
    3/2021 -- miscarriage at 8w
    7/2021 -- missed miscarriage at 8w / DNC
    9/2021 -- IVF cycle #1 (FET 1/25/22)

  • @mdwiny That story with your DH is so sweet! But I'm not a signs person either, so I get how it would be hard not to feel like he understands your anxiety. FX for your appointment on Tuesday!  Hope everything goes great!
  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
The babies are 9 weeks today. They are the size of a cherry.
    How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty yucky, super tired, nauseous, etc.
    Any appointments coming up?
Not until the 11th. We just had another u/s last Friday and the babies are right on track.
    Rants, raves, questions?
The unisom works great especially when combined with B6 vitamin. At least it has helped my nausea.
GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
Favorite - the quiet of living in the country. Least favorite - that it takes forever to get to any good shopping.
  • How many weeks are you? 7 I have a sweet little blueberry

How are you feeling? Ugh trying to stay positive but super bad cramping and nauseous then just plain exhausted. But super excited.

Next appt. Is Thursday the 7th so excited.

Rants raves, questions? Not right now

Gtky- I live in Utah and love the mountains I cam always find an adventure. Dislike- the summer heat.
  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
8 weeks. Size of a wild strawberry.

    How are you feeling?
Super constipated, trapped gas which is painful, and a constant feeling of fullness in my pelvic/lower abdominal area that is uncomfortable when I bend or sit. [Not so] patiently waiting for my uterus to move up into my abdomen for relief. The nausea and dry heaving is annoying but no real throwing up yet.

    Any appointments coming up?
My OB's office requires you to go to a  pregnancy class that addresses what to expect on your pregnancy and how their office handles pregnant patients. It's required whether it's your first or twelfth baby. I have that on Tuesday and then my first official prenatal appointment on Thursday, although my date dating sono was this past week. The following week I meet with my endocrinologist again and the dietitian and certified diabetic educator in his office and the week after that is my MFM appointment.

    Rants, raves, questions?
I just want to poop. And fart.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
The cost of living is amazing here in WNY. And we have four very distinct seasons. The taxes are OBSCENE.

    Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby? 9 weeks! Baby is the size of a cherry.

How are you feeling? Now that I realized I need to eat every 2 hours so I don't get sick, that's getting better. It's just hard to eat because I feel like I have aversions to everything. Very tired and lots of RLP and pain in my hips.

Any appointments coming up? Still have to wait another entire week before seeing the dr and getting my first u/s. I did see the nurse and they ran labs but they didn't run any hcg so I have no idea how things are going in there. It's frustrating and next time I think I'm going to lie about how far along I think I am so that they give me a dating ultrasound sooner. :x

Rants, raves, questions? see above, rant about waiting for the first dr appt

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live? We live in rural PA, so it's gorgeous and we're relatively close to everything but all the good jobs are 45 min away in the bigger towns/cities

@adecembermom2015 ugh yesss once my dog ate part of our rug and it ended up costing us nearly $700
@mdwiny yes! That's how I describe the 1st tri, constant hangover without any of the fun

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?

  • @maureenmce Thanks! I'm excited for the ultrasound because we didn't get that far last time, and I think it will help me get over some of the anxiety. And yeah, he's really sweet. I do think he "gets it," but he has that mode a lot of guys have where he thinks it's more helpful to say "everything's going to be okay!" than to say, "I totally get why you're anxious." There are worse traits to have in a husband.

  • @Mattel -- I must live pretty close to you! I'm in south-central NY. (agreed on everything you said!)

@peppersmith22 -- RIGHT?? No wine / constant hangover is such a terrible deal... what was I thinking?

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?

    9 weeks, cherry or grape

    How are you feeling?

    good overall!

    Any appointments coming up?

in a few weeks for my IOB

    Rants, raves, questions?

over the constipation and peeing in the night but otherwise I can't complain.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?

I don't like how expensive the Boston region is for everything but I love you small like suburb. We're close to bike trails, cute restaurants, fun kids activities and lots of farms!
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
6wk, the size of a sweet pea.

    How are you feeling?
I feel great, I have practically no symptoms at all. It really worries me sometimes.

    Any appointments coming up?
None. I have yet to confirm my pregnancy with my post hospital (in reference to last week's update), but once I do that, they will schedule an intake around 8 weeks.

    Rants, raves, questions?
I just wish I had more apparent symptoms. I'll get dizzy and I have tons of discharge, but that's about it.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
I love the scenery, it's beautiful. People spend their whole lives trying to live here (at least for the military). I just wish the city was better maintained. The roads are always awful, and when it rains or snows, you have to be extremely careful.
  • 1. I am 6 weeks, rounding out the end of the month.
    2. I feel way worse than my other 2 pregnancies. I never had nausea and it's starting to occur more frequently. I threw up once with my first and it was during transition of labor. My nipples are also super sensitive.
No appointment until October.  I switched obs after my loss and this is standard practice to not be seen until 10 weeks.
Rants: dd has slept like crap this week so I have been struggling to get enough sleep.
    Gtky:
I live near my parents so built in babysitters. I also live on main street so I can walk downtown to eat and run.
Con: crazy drivers going the wrong way on our street.
    Hope you're feeling better @allowachick
  • @rklinge0 I'm feeling tired as a side effect of the new nausea medication.
  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
7 weeks and 1 day (since I'm a day late checking in!). Baby is the size of a blueberry or a brookesia micro chameleon.
    How are you feeling?
Like crap! Morning sickness has firmly set in and I either puke or dry heave several times a day. I'm exhausted. I have to pee all the damn time.
    Any appointments coming up?
Nothing scheduled. I need to get set up at my birthing center this week.
    Rants, raves, questions?
This pregnancy is so far way worse than my first. I got nauseous every now and then with my daughter, but nothing like this.
GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?
My state has a very diverse biosphere! If I drive 100 miles north I can be play in the snow in the winter, we have beautiful hiking trails, awesome places to kayak and camp.
Least favorite is the summertime heat. We regularly hit 120 in the area I live in.
  • @codingchildhood sorry the morning sickness has attacked you too
  • So the oral form of the new medicine didn't seem to work, so after puking twice today I had to resort to the rectal form ... not as bad as I imagined but not happy about it
  • *TW* I started spotting today, and now it seems to be more of a trickling bleed. I'm not filling a pad, but whenever I wipe it is light pink and some red. I have a feeling since I'm so early, and that I have relatively no symptoms, it might be a MC. I just have a really bad feeling about it, and intuition is usually never wrong. Since my hospital doesn't do an US until 10-12wks, there is really nothing I can do except wait and see what happens. I really want to be wrong.
  • You can always call them to see if they can get you in early.   Thinking of you right now.

  • And sorry @allowachick. How weird. Hope it works.
  • @allowachick If I was in your position I'd stick anything up there to feel better lol! Hang in there mama!!
  • @mechekitty I'm so sorry. Does your hospital make any exceptions for earlier ultrasounds if there's bleeding?  FX for you.
  • @mechekitty Thinking of you... has the bleeding gotten any better? If your OB's office is closed for the holiday, and you're still bleeding, don't hesitate to go to the ER. They can at least do an HCG test and monitor you.

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby?

    6 weeks - blueberry

    How are you feeling?

Tired and nauseous almost all the time. Never bad enough to actually get sick though. It'll probably get worse LOL

    Any appointments coming up?

Yes! Ultrasound and bloodwork on the 18th of this month. I don't see my OB until around 10weeks.

    Rants, raves, questions?

Just praying for everyone affected by the flooding in the south, and the fires out west.

GTKY: What's your favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live?

I'm from Ohio, we rarely have any extreme weather disasters, which I'm grateful for. But I also don't live by the ocean or the mountains. That's the only downfall.

    Nice to to meet everyone!

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby? 10+2 I don't think I'll ever remember to check in on Saturday. Size of a date, petit four, a large Leggo brick.

How are you feeling? MS every other day or so. My boobs aren't as sore but I'm still pretty tired most days.

Any appointments coming up? Thursday first OB appt and another ultrasound

Rants, raves, questions? I feel like I am getting close to the point where the baby isn't so teeny tiny anymore! Also I have off tomorrow and I'm so excited for the extra day :)

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live? I love living in the city and walking to work. Sometimes finding street parking is the devil.

  • Oh @allowachick I am so sorry you have had such a rough time. I hope this medicine works for you.
@mechekitty I think early bleeding is usually an exception to the rule so I would call and ask. I was told that bleeding in early pregnancy happens often and doesn't always mean the worst is happening. Thinking of you.

Good luck to all you ladies having their first ultrasound this week!!

  • How many weeks are you? How big is baby? 6 weeks. Baby is the size of Pomegranate seed.

How are you feeling? Overall, I cannot complain. The MS has hit, but it's not nearly as severe as it was in my second pregnancy. I suppose I do have time for it to worsen, but I'm grateful it's not terrible yet. Otherwise, just exhausted. Chasing after two kids while growing a baby is hard stuff!

Any appointments coming up? My nurse intake appointment is next Wednesday, 9/13. Ultrasound on the 22nd.

Rants, raves, questions? Anyone else want to hurt their husband?I feel like my hormones are making me the Hulk. Let's just say it was a rough weekend.

GTKY: what's you're favorite and least favorite thing about the place you live? My favorite thing is that I live in a college town. It provides a little diversity and great restaurants, opportunity to see the arts, etc. that I would not otherwise encounter in my Midwest state. The least favorite thing, That I live in a college town ;). Our traffic, crime, etc. surge when the students come back!

    Married: 11/2011

    DD-7/2015

  • @mechekitty how are you doing today?  any luck getting a sooner appt?
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • oh no @mechekitty were you able to get in to see a doctor? You would think they would do a scan if you explain the issue
  • Hello ladies! I just wanted to update you all, and thank you all for your well wishes. *TW (jic)* I'm still bleeding in intervals it seems like. I'll go from spotting to more heavy bleeding. I'm still not filling pads, and I haven't seen any tissue yet, though I'm not sure I would this early. I took another hpt today, and it was still very positive. I know this doesn't mean much as hcg can stick around in your system for awhile, but it's keeping me grounded. I also have not had any noticeable cramping. I called a women's clinic separate from the military hospital, and will hopefully be seen next week. I'll be calling the OB clinic on post tomorrow to see if they are able to see me, or if I should just go to the ER to either confirm viability or confirm that I have passed it all. *end TW*

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and I will keep you updated, good or bad.
  • @mechekitty fx that everything's ok. T&P
  • @BarefootContessa oh yea I know that hulk feeling a little too well lol also love your username you an Ina fan I assume?
@mechekitty wishing you the best right now!
