What my pregnant self is eating 7/21 edition

Lets hear it ladies!  For me this past few weeks it has been all about the fresh red grapes and black cherries that are in season.  I can eat an entire bag of either in one day.  Also, give me all the pasta and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!!

Re: What my pregnant self is eating 7/21 edition

  • Jimmy Johns veggie sandwiches and ice cream! Oh and as the whole pregnancy I eat about a whole container of strawberries every other day
  • Loading the player...
  • Ice cream.

  • I have been craving lots of fresh fruit! My fridge is currently stocked with cherries, apples, and blackberries.
  • Give me watermelon!
  • Peanut butter, avocados and salsa
  • @lilpoots peanut butter yes! The past few days after EVERY meal I have made myself a piece of peanut butter toast! Also, avocados because who doesn't love a big bowl of guacamole?!
  • I just want to eat vegetable samosas, and also Olive Garden. I need soup, salad, and breadsticks in my life right now, but DH and I are trying to severely cut back on expenses, so unfortunately none of these are in my future.
  • All of the sugar. I have had dessert every day for the last couple of weeks.  :o:o:o:o:o:o:D:)
  • I can't get enough JUICE.  I think I've drank a gallon of orange and apple juice this week.  I wake up in the middle of the night and NEED a cold glass of apple juice.
  • I just got the biggest craving for watermelon and honeydew, I don't even like melon normally.
  • I feel like the first trimester is back I'm always sick and tired so I do not eat anything hardly... sourkraut is the only thing that sounds appealing
  • Vanilla ice cream. Cold and delicious on a warm day like today, and it guarantees that baby will dance when I'm missing her movement.
When I was a kid my mom would make milkshakes with vanilla ice cream and buttermilk. What I wouldn't give for one of those right now.
  • Cereal. Like two to three bowls a day. I normally don't eat processed foods but it was calling my name at the grocery store the other day.
  • Cereal is my jam. I have a bowl every morning and would eat it more if I didn't have a husband and other children to feed! Lol Processed food junkie! #noshame
  • Ok bringing this back because I find it odd that it's so late in the game and all I want is: pizza, spaghetti, goulash, lasagna and more pizza! Please give me all the red sauce pasta! It goes great with my acid reflux and heart burn....
  • @tfrangul I am with you with the pasta thing!  I can not get enough of it and also bagels.  I had to pick up some bagels and cream cheese yesterday.  Other than that I have been craving green smoothies and fresh fruit.  I also need to have a fresh tomato from our garden every morning with my eggs.
  • I have been craving Chex cereal and I'm eating a ton of avocado.
  • @lilpoots ok so I am not one to venture with my food....... terrible I know, my kids try everything though! Anyway I just found out I like guacamole! Hahaha I have not tried plain avacodo but I was proud of myself for giving the guac a shot. Damn. Now that sounds good....
  • @tfrangul guacamole is so amazing and addictive. I love avocado all the time and prepared any way. I know some people don't like the texture, but hey, more avocados for me.
  • GD has put a crazy damper on any yummy eating...I had 1/4 of a bar of chocolate (I just wanted to eat the whole bar), some meat and cheese, and 2 plums (I could eat all the plums) and my sugar levels were out of control for hours :( Looking forward to all the eating after pregnancy....one of the things I dream about these days....all the foods.

  • Been eliminating dairy free for 3 weeks now, so that makes things less exciting. However cake is my new go to, since ice cream is out and I've been loving it. Also peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, all day long.
  • I am 38 weeks pregnant and I CAN NOT STOP EATING!!!!!!I am never full.  Is anyone else dealing with this?
  • @JustBored10 I have my days but not so much lately. I think she has just gotten so big there is not much room. The heartburn/acid reflux doesn't help....blahhh
But I noticed when I was hungry like that the baby was having a growth spurt!

@JustBored10 absolutely! I was home alone last night as DH was out and I cooked the same sized dinner I normally would for both of us so I would have lunch the next day as well, and ate the whole thing! DH couldn't believe I'd eaten so much food!

ETA my baby has definitely dropped a fair bit and I read that appetite can increase following this as there's more room for your stomach again
  • Made homemade granola which DH has been requesting for months. It was all I could do not to scarf all of it down over the stove this afternoon.
  • This baby has never been high this pregnancy. Baby likes to hang out in my pelvis. Lol! So I have been blessed with no heart burn this pregnancy so give me all the food!!!
  • I can't stop eating Corn Pops this week. I haven't had them since I was like 12.
  • This weekend we have had a heat wave in Southern California, so I have been eating all the ice cream.
  • @heatherlynn321 I ate a ton of Corn Pops a few weeks back. Now it's Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

  • Currently eating pretzels and chocolate frosting... been trying to stay dairy free for fear child #2 will have a dairy allergy like #1 did.  I've been getting more "creative with my sweet tooth.
  • I started eating dates this week since, according to research, they make spontaneous labor more likely. I was squeamish at first, but now I cannot stop eating them. So caramely and delicious!
  • @coastalmomma-2 I love dates! I usually stuff them with peanut butter and sometimes add in some chocolate chips
  • I like to wrap dates in peppered or jalapeño bacon and then roast them in the oven. It makes for a delicious appetizer for dinner parties too.
  • I had some eggplant parmesan today for lunch, just to see if maybe it worked, lol.
  • I'm on a low sodium diet, so not a lot of fun eating here, but I'm going to pick up some more avocados at the store because only 10mg of sodium.
