Are y'all still feeding baby food? Ethan eats table food but still eats pouches. I read about this company called pure spoon so I ordered a package from them. It comes today so I'll see how Ethan likes it.
As for words, he says mama, dada, up, gamma (for grandma), yep, and he tries to say sit down (for our dogs) but it literally sounds like he's saying god damn. Hahahaha. He still babbles a lot but has a basic understanding of things like "go get bunny", "go get your shoes" etc.
Jackie eats pouches when we are out an about, but otherwise she eats regular food. I don't bother to order her own meal yet, but I might get an extra side of fruit or something intended for her.
As for words she babbles all the time. There's a few she says regularly that I can't translate yet, but she knows mama, dada, dodo (dog), baba (ball), bite please (when she mooches food), up/help please (they sound identical), boop (book), hi, bye bye, and ado (all done). She does have a pretty good grasp on language and sometimes she will even follow simple instructions and help us put her toys away. She has also started making animal noises and pointing at body parts, but those are hit and miss.

Damien has Love Child pouches for snacks sometimes or if I feel like he needs and extra dose of veggies/fruits. He hasn't quite gotten the hang of the pouches yet though so he ends up just squeeze the content all over the place. To avoid that, I usually just follow him around and give him squirts periodically. Sometimes he'll suck it all down at once though. Otherwise he eats what we eat at meals and either gets his own meal at restaurants or eats some of mine (I never finish anyway).

Cam knows to point at eyes, nose, mouth, and says hi, book, ball, bib, cat, mommom, dada. He understands "no" a d cries when we tell him to stop doing something. Also, he is so freaking close to walking lol. I hope he starts before the 13th so he can perform for the Dr.
Any celiac sufferers here? My aunt just was diagnosed and in talking to her it sounds like I suffer from all the major symptoms, and it runs in families. I'm going to call to set up a blood screening. Hopefully this explains my stomach issues

My boss, whom I'm actually super close with, has celiac disease (her daughter was just diagnosed recently as well after months of awful stomach issues). I can remember one time, after getting little sleep so she wasn't mentally all there, she made her kids their sandwiches before school and used the same knife on her gluten-free sandwich without thinking. She was out of office for about 3 days trying to recover. That's all it took!

Poor thing! That sounds awful! I have a Drs appt on Thursday so hopefully I can get an order for blood work and get this figured out.
@Tawny87, while celiac disease would suck it sounds like it would be a relief to be able to have an answer and start being able to control it. I hope you feel better soon.

Totally agree! The sooner you know, the sooner you can do something about it. I hopefully they can get the bloodwork done and figure it out quickly.
Thanks @vintagevix2016@meggyme I totally agree! This would explain so much that as funny as it is I almost hope it is Celiac's. It would explain my stomach issues, distraction, numbness in arms, irritability, anxiety, and skin rash to name a few. I feel like I have so many of the symptoms it just has to be it. I'm glad my aunt mentioned it and if I do have it it will be nice to have her to commiserate with.

I'd be more than happy to pass along any recipes my boss has once you know what's up. She's a wealth of information and I've always enjoyed her cooking.

I'm in Texas, but DFW. I have a few family and friends effected by the Hurricane but everyone is safe, so far. H is a fireman here and they have sent two crews down to help so far. He is on the list to go next if it comes down to that.

Glad to hear you are safe- I hope your husband stays safe too!
My husband tells me that whenever he goes to the park near our house with Savannah all the mom's leave within 5 minutes (it's a tiny park). I didn't believe him, but today we went together and literally 2 minutes after walking up all 3 moms and their children left.
Do you guys leave the park if a dad comes in?? What's the deal?? (Putting a pic of him with sav for reference and he's only about 5'10 if that makes a difference haha)

That's really weird...especially since he has Savannah with him. Our park is always crowded so I never noticed any changes in attendance when my husband arrives. We're usually together though so I don't know if that plays a role.

Weird. Dads go to the parks here all the time, and I talk to them just like I do the moms.

Ditto! We are pretty friendly around these parts. I have talked to lots of nice dad's at the park.
Glad you guys are all normal hahaha- I dunno if they are self conscious without makeup or are having conversations they don't want to have in front of men? It was really bizarre though. And he's certainly not a threatening or creepy looking guy with his young daughter and wife
Ok so I know it's not even September yet....but am I the only one planning the 2nd birthday party already? Lol. I found a theme I love so I'm running with it.

I thought you were gonna ask about Halloween costumes!!

After the disaster that was Damien's 1st bday, I don't even want to think about his next one yet haha. I think we're going to tackle Halloween and Christmas first, then worry about his bday.
My husband just completed his Kylo Ren costume (it's pretty epic) and my "generic Sith" costume is done as well (though I need to try it on to see if it actually fits...it's a modified Marvel's Black Widow bodysuit). I figure we'll stick to the Star Wars theme for Damien.

Its so funny that you say that, I saw a place in town that just opened called "The Little Gym" and was SO close to booking his bday there yesterday. When I told H about it he thought I was a little crazy..
I've also started his Christmas shopping already too, I can't help it!
No thiughts for birthday yet, but I'm planning Christmas already We are going to turn an old cabinet into a play kitchen for Nadia. For my 3 1/2 year old I'm getting my old American girl doll from my parents house, and I'm going to make it a bed and sew some new clothes for it, including a doctors ourfit (she's obsessed with doctors) For my son I'm making an "inventors kit". Basically a box of recycled things he can use to build, invent, play, etc, along with a glue gun and duct tape and things. He also really wants a Nerf gun, and this may be the year I cave and get him one
H has been planning Halloween costumes, mostly things like Mini me and Dr Evil and Luke Skywalker and Yoda.. Looks like I'm left out of the Halloween costumes this year!
Anybody to the Music Together program? I'd like some feedback as our local group starts up soon and I'm thinking I wanna try it.
We did music together in the spring and I really liked it. The classes were fun, but it's also the gift that keeps on giving, because whenever I play the music in the car Sophie will instantly chill out and listen, usually clapping and dancing along, even if she was having a meltdown seconds before. It's made driving so much better!
I didn't love how expensive it is though. $20 a class feels like a lot to sit in a circle and sing and play drums. So I'm torn about whether to do it again.
Most public libraries will have some similar kids music classes. You might check one of those out if the price is too much to justify. Our library has other cool classes as well as regular events. They had a petting zoo one time.

To update my celiac post, they sent off blood work testing for celiac, anemia and are checking my thyroid and she is having me go gluten free for at least a month even if I have a negative on the test to check for a sensitivity that may not be celiac.
On Wednesday I traveled to Newport Beach with one of my really good friends to take her to her IVF appointment. Her husband wasn't able to attend (the office moved the date last minute and he couldn't change his day off).
They have struggled with infertility for 2 years and she desperately wants to be pregnant. IVF is their last resort because she really wants to be pregnant and experience that versus using a surrogate. They implanted 1 female embryo (they had the embryos genetically tested thus know the sex) and froze the second female embryo. Now she waits 2 agonizing weeks to have a blood test done. I can't help but feel like I'm on the roller coaster with her! I sure hope this is it for them and they finally get the baby they've been waiting for. My fingers and toes are crossed!

On that same note, I hope they are doing well and safely inland!

I've had a few random thoughts on halloween costumes, but not much further than that.
