I'd love to start a thread where people can share the way they revealed their baby's sex. For our family we will probably just call everyone, but on social media we're gonna post a cute picture! Anyone care to share your pics??
Not a bad idea... I know the use of the word sex is preferred over gender by myself and others, but not a huge deal or anything. That said, there are some posts like this in the pregnancy announcement thread too. We did sex/I'm pregnant all at once since we found out insanely early. But I would love to see what cute ideas others have
No pics handy right now, but my doctor's office gave me the sex in an envelope and I took it to DH's aunt who bakes really well. We invited my family and his family over to his parent's house and ordered pizza. Everyone was given a cupcake, but only one had pink icing inside, so no one knew who was gonna get it. Everyone bit in at the same time and it was fun to see everyone's reactions with mouths full of cupcake. haha
This was our announcement pic, and I thought the pink balloons and the pink font would be enough for everyone to know we are having a girl but nope. Everyone thought tiebreaker meant boy or girl tiebreaker (since we have a girl dog and a boy dog). But we were talking about a Skins/ GIants tiebreaker so kind of a fail lol
Our announcement pic. I've already posted this somewhere. The confetti was so much fun! After we popped the canons, DH and I just stared up. Our reaction time was delayed because we were looking for blue and not processing pink!
So DH is really into Home brewing beer, so we wanted to incorporate that into our reveal. He used Zima and food coloring and had our friend hand us the bottle with the correct sex in it. Funny enough, the first bottle his friend gave us was the wrong sex. haha.
We had two separate reveals. Top is my parents we told each mom that they atleast had their "Girl" and then she opened the 2nd box. *She only jumps for spiders* HAHAHAH
Bottom pics are when his mom found out and we had 2 pink balloons left over from our "popped" bouquet.
It's funny, I planned this huge party with such an adorable reveal but none of his family could be there so it worked out better this way and it was all last minute LOL.
I'm usually ALL about parties and ANY opportunity for a photo shoot, but surprisingly, I'm not really a "gender reveal" kind of person. Ours was totally informal. We were camping with all of our family, so we decided to do a little impromptu reveal. We had DD open a present that had a little boy outfit inside. I posted this picture somewhere else too, but I thought I'd share on this thread. I'm not doing a social media announcement, so we didn't take a cute, staged photo. My sister just snapped these in the moment.
We sent this picture out to family and friends the day we found out the sex. A few days later we posted a similar picture with the due date included as it was also our pregnancy announcement.
This is the announcement/gender reveal I just posted on FB. I was intending to do a photo of DS in the big brother shirt, but he was distinctly unimpressed by the news and continued his "no pants pirate dance" as soon as we let him off the couch. TBH this was much easier.
Found out today that it's a girl! I'm still in shock! PS...Trying to get my almost two year old to cooperate for this photo shoot was soooo hard. As you can probably tell from the smear that should be his handprints haha
we had been telling people as we saw them that we are having both a boy and girl, but the last week or so i've been getting people on facebook being, "are you guys finding out the genders? you should be at that point where the doctor can tell you!" and all, so last night i whipped up a couple cupcakes and then posted it on facebook. and then ate the cupcakes for dinner. it was delicious!
@caseyw8784 Bless you for being able to "whip up a couple of cupcakes." If I attempted to make those with the frosting on the inside, it would be a four trips to the grocery store/three attempts and give up sort of ordeal... SO CUTE!
@EmilyLove25 I "made" cupcakes to tell DH, and by made I asked Kroger to sell me unfrosted cupcakes and bought a tube of blue icing to fill it and a tub of Duncan Hines to frost the top. Lol they certainly looked homemade when I was done though (I did not get my moms talent at cake decorating!)
