So I had my IUI on the 11th (I'm 6DPO) and I'm not sure if I'm having symptoms or progesterone side effects but for the last couple of days I have been EXHAUSTED. So much so that the last two days (not today because I worked late and had to cook dinner right when I got home but I would have if I could have!) Also last night and today I have constantly felt hungry! Like tonight, I had a dinner that would have normally made me full my stomach was growling again after 5 minutes!

So, I really dislike my nurse and she always seems to give me terrible information, which is then corrected by other nurses/my doctor. My RE is about 45 minutes away so I do my monitoring and see the nurse at one of my clinic's satellite locations closer to home (I don't have any issues with the nurses at the main location). I was asking her about when an egg is considered "overripe" and she told me anything over 23mm. This seems really odd to me since I see lots of ladies on TB who trigger around then or even later. She saw a note on my file by my RE that said not to trigger me this cycle until most dominant follicles are at least 20mm or more and she basically scoffed and said "well by the time you ovulate the eggs will be overripe and you won't get pregnant anyway". I put in a call to the main office to see what they say - waiting to hear back
So what do your RE's say about optimal follicle size and when an egg might be overripe?

@tosh24 I have triggered the day after we had a 22 and 17 so I am assuming that it would have been at least 23/24- they have even had me trigger when it was at 25.
My main center is 45 min away so I get monitoring done at satellite office as well. Although the last couple of times they had that site closed so I had to drive 45 min for a 10 min appt.
@bpietronicco Thanks for sharing! I usually O early on in my cycle and my follies are generally around 1.8/1.9 when I trigger because my LH starts to surge on its own around CD9/CD10 (*TW* with the exception of my last BFP which was a 24mm follie at trigger and ended in m/c *End TW*). We added Orgalutran to my protocol this cycle to see if we can get the follies a little bigger before I start to surge on my own. I don't have PCOS but I do have polycystic ovaries and we are wondering if I am Oing immature eggs which can be an issue with PCO, especially given my shorter cycles. If my RE is good with this approach, I don't know what makes the nurse think she knows better. So irritating.
Yeah, my satellite clinic is closed on weekends so I usually have to drive into the city for weekend monitoring. It's not too bad because there isn't any rush hour traffic on Sat/Sun!

My Dr had me wait an extra day when I had a 20 follie and 18 follie next visit they were 23 and 20 and he had me trigger that night. I also had a 24 past cycle and he told me that it looked great and I triggered that night.

Had my monitoring appointment this morning @ CD7. Only 1 freaking follicle and it's 1.8 cm already. The only other one growing is 1.1 cm so it's out of the equation. Because it's so early, my lining is only 0.5 cm (I JUST finished AF yesterday). I was supposed to start Orgalutran once the lead follicle got to 1.2 cm but I guess that's a bust. And it wouldn't matter anyway because the meds are sitting at a new pharmacy and I just went to pick them up and guess what's not open on weekends (what kind of pharmacy is not open on weekends)??? The nurse was talking about having me come back tomorrow depending on what my blood work shows - don't have those results yet - and possibly triggering, but I think if that's the case, I may just pull the plug on this cycle. The RE has already told me that an egg that matures that quickly is probably poor quality, plus my lining is abysmal (I don't have lining problems, it's just that it's so early in my cycle it hasn't thickened up yet) so I'm not spending $750 on a b2b IUI for a crap cycle. So frustrating.
Does anyone else have experience with poor response after upping med dosages or starting injects? I responded fine on just femara alone.

@tosh24 sorry things aren't going as planned. I don't have any experience with the meds as my body is responding great on them and they Dr said he doesn't know why it isn't happening for me yet. That in itself is frustrating but I did want to offer prayers that everything works out for you this cycle. Hopefully you won't have to cycle.
@Labluver2Thank you. I am cancelling the cycle. My RE still thinks there's a chance to save it (he called in the Orgalutran to a different pharmacy for me to pick up) but because my surge is soooo much earlier than expected, DH is away on a trip to the lake and doesn't want to cut his vacation short and come back early. He is stressed and said maybe cancelling the cycle is a good thing because he's not sure he wants to go through treatments anymore. Well thanks, dude. Way to get that off your chest the cycle before our IVF is planned. Needless to say I've been in tears all night. Who knows what will happen now but I am not looking forward to speaking with him any time soon. And I'd also like to find a way to be out of the country for the next few weeks while my sister goes ahead and has her 3rd unplanned baby. FML.

@tosh24 oh I'm so sorry. Husbands just don't get it. They think they do but they just don't. There have been pregnancy unplanned as well going on all around me I want to scream. It doesn't seem fair and half these people aren't even fit to take care of thems elves let alone a child.
Sometimes a break is nice have some wine a nice bubble bath. We took a break after our 2nd iui went away for a few days it was nice not having to worry about Dr's appt, shots, times or getting preg.
9DPO and went on a googling tear today looking for success stories for 2nd IUIs. Anyone else on their second IUI? The second time definitely makes me more cautious in any excitement. I fully expect it to go either way.

@manders85-2 and @marfi236 I am on my second IUI too. I completely agree with being more cautious about any excitement. I am almost just expecting a BFN and hoping I'll be surprised.
@manders85-2 I just did my 4th IUI also hoping this is the one. If it helps my nurse told me last week that she didn't get pregnant til her 6th IUI and ended up havin twins. Sometimes your body needs time to a just to the meds and figure out what it's supposed to be doing. Good luck!!

*tw* we were successful on our 2nd IUI (5 cycle total), and that was the 1st time we've ever got a BFP. Unfortunately it ended in a CP, but I chalk that up to normal pregnancy problems, and not related to our IF issues... Our issue has mainly been MFI, so the fact that we got a BFP was huge. *end tw*
I think the second IUI is [a tiny bit] easier... In my experience, going thru the 1st one and being disappoint helped keep my excitement in check for the 2nd one. I was more "blah" about it... Not excited, but not NOT excited lol (if that makes sense). GL to you ladies @husewife@manders85-2@marfi236 !! FX that this is the one!!!

Whelp I tested tonight. BFN. I don't even know why I did it lol. It's only 11DPO for me and I wasn't planning on testing until Friday but I was like ah what the heck. I'm not surprised by the BFN. I've not really had any symptoms other than being tired and that could just be because I should go to bed earlier. Oh well. I'll wait and test again Friday and see what happens.

@marfi236 Don't get discouraged yet... Test again when you are supposed to... FX you get a better outcome next time! @str14 my doc says 14dp trigger, but I always wait until 14dpiui just to make sure I'm not doing it too early lol
IUI #3 is in the books! DH's sample was a lot better this time around, 10 million post wash (<1mil for #1, 3mil for #2). It may not be "ideal" numbers, but we're happy with them Now the TWW begins. GL everyone!!!

@marfi236 I'm lurking as I've been wishing you luck this whole month since we were in July together. *TW I had two negative tests and bled from 10-13 days post iui thinking it was my period starting early as previous cycles it was all over the place -then got my positive. I had stopped taking my meds and drank a beer! Don't give up hope until you know for sure for sure! Wishing you the best of luck!
Hello ladies - just dropping by to tell you I'm with you. 7dpiui as of today. This is our second IUI. One more week in the dreaded, blasted TWW. @marfi236 I can almost never resist the urge to test early! I feel you. This go around I've been promising myself I'll chew off my own hand before I test too early and disappoint myself. We'll see if my willpower withstands temptation. Good luck to you all! Here's hoping for BFPs all around!
@cassafrass15 Same here! After IUI#1 I refuse to test early! What I have found that helps is to not have any tests in the house until it's time to test. That way when you feel tempted, you won't be able to give in!

@bpietronicco omg right this is my 4th and the weeks seem to have flown by this week taking forever. I go tomorrow for progestrone. My beta should be next Sat but I'm not scheduling it till Monday if AF doesn't show up. I've been getting her before the 2 weeks and I hate canceling appts so I'm going to hold off and I'm not going to test either. Tomorrow I'll be 6dpiui still having symotors from trigger very tired and nauseous at times and smell aversions. Praying so hard this is our month!!!!

So, I really dislike my nurse and she always seems to give me terrible information, which is then corrected by other nurses/my doctor. My RE is about 45 minutes away so I do my monitoring and see the nurse at one of my clinic's satellite locations closer to home (I don't have any issues with the nurses at the main location). I was asking her about when an egg is considered "overripe" and she told me anything over 23mm. This seems really odd to me since I see lots of ladies on TB who trigger around then or even later. She saw a note on my file by my RE that said not to trigger me this cycle until most dominant follicles are at least 20mm or more and she basically scoffed and said "well by the time you ovulate the eggs will be overripe and you won't get pregnant anyway". I put in a call to the main office to see what they say - waiting to hear back
So what do your RE's say about optimal follicle size and when an egg might be overripe?

My main center is 45 min away so I get monitoring done at satellite office as well. Although the last couple of times they had that site closed so I had to drive 45 min for a 10 min appt.
Yeah, my satellite clinic is closed on weekends so I usually have to drive into the city for weekend monitoring. It's not too bad because there isn't any rush hour traffic on Sat/Sun!

we were successful on our 2nd IUI (5 cycle total), and that was the 1st time we've ever got a BFP. Unfortunately it ended in a CP, but I chalk that up to normal pregnancy problems, and not related to our IF issues... Our issue has mainly been MFI, so the fact that we got a BFP was huge.

I think the second IUI is [a tiny bit] easier... In my experience, going thru the 1st one and being disappoint helped keep my excitement in check for the 2nd one. I was more "blah" about it... @manders85-2 That's a great idea! Except I love gummy bears and chocolate so it would be more of a treat for bad googling behavior for me...maybe every time you google you have to eat a brussel sprout? Now that sounds like a horrid punishment for google abuse.
