I sneezed and I peed a bit! Please tell me I am not alone...

It was more than a tiny drop but not enough that I wet my pants.  The little drops happen sometimes. But I was like "holy crap, I peed".  It isn't like I'm neglecting my kegals.  It isn't like I do them daily either, so maybe this means I should get on that...  And/or wear a pad.

  • It has happened to me yet but I'm really good at crossing my legs when I sneeze. Maybe panty liners?
  • Loading the player...
  • I grabbed these for discharge. They are very thin and intended for slight bladder leakage like you mentioned. It's not uncommon at this point.

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • I wear a thin pad every day because of this problem and discharge. I also currently have a very persistent cough due to acid reflux and that's causing this issue as well if I forget to cross my legs before I cough. It's really very annoying.

  • Oh I've been there.  I just try to keep up on going to the bathroom because when it has happened to me I had a bladder that felt pretty full.   I still have pretty good control of those muscles so not much came out.  Wearing a little protection would be smart.  But as mentioned above it's common.  :)
  • I have had an overactive and weak bladder my whole life...so sadly, not something new for me if I have a strong sneeze lol. I agree with the panty liner suggestions!
  • This happened to me last week for the first time.  In front of my husband no less  :'(
  • Funnily so peeing while sneezing twas on the weekly update from whattoexpect just this last week which my husband listens to weekly on Alexa. He heard it in front of my 3.5 yr old who goes,'what's snizzing?'  So I explained that the baby kicks my bladder and it makes me go pee my pants to which he replied -'ok mommy, I do that all night too!' ( cause he wears diapers at night still)!!
  • this does not sound fun and I am now afraid to sneeze. Note to self buy some liners in case this happens.

  • *raises hand* Yuuup, did this for the first time the other day. Probably not the last time!
  • It's a good time to practice kegals (sp?) when you know you're going to sneeze or cough

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

  • Not sneezing, but last time I threw up I also peed myself. And not a little. Unfortunately I had also just gotten dressed!
  • You snissed, it happens.  Made DH take me to the store during vacation to get every day pads, it's been such a appreciated difference. No more waking in the middle of the night thinking I've peed myself or my water is leaking (illogical thinking at it's finest).
  • Sneezing, coughing, vomiting LMAO...I wasn't even showing and everytime I threw up I peed myself. Now sometimes even if I hiccup or do something small I pee a little. I wear a liner every day as well. I've claimed my nasty habits tho..if I pee a little I announce it (even at work), if I fart I totally claim them lol my clients think it's hilarious and it makes them feel better if they do it instead of another client calling them out on it or being made fun of.
  • Soooo......not that I need it.......but is there a word for if you are trying to fart and pee a little?

    @DungeonTrollMel Fizzed?!! Or Fartissed?
  • Still getting over bronchitis/pneumonia and in the last 2 weeks I have probably peed myself 20 times. Half those times where I actually had to change my underwear and pants and I've always worn a liner everyday. It sucks but even after I had my 1st I still had to cross my legs to sneeze or cough.
  • This has been happening regularly for me. I know if I don't cross my legs first I will pee. I'm trying to increase my kegels. I have a cold right now so there's a lot of coughing and sneezing going on. I wear a thick liner/thin pad daily for discharge so it covers me for the pee accidents as well.
  • Unfortunately this only gets worse. This is my second, and after my first it took forever to get to the point where I wouldn't pee when I laughed too hard or sneezed. After you give birth is worse because everything's been stretched (and in my case, ripped) and it takes awhile for the muscles to go back to how they used to be.
  • Same here! Between the pee sneezes and constant discharge, I'm feeling pretty classy these days lol
  • Peeing your pants is the coolest! I do it at least once a week!
  • I woke up sometime early this morning and the crotch of my pants was damp. I'm guessing I coughed in my sleep...
  • It has been too long for me to remember what it was like in regards to pee (except having to do it all the time) with my first!  But I do pee all the time lately!
  • I'm with you. Literally every time I sneeze, unless I'm actively thinking about not peeing. Can't even imagine what it'll be like after the babies are out.
  • Any time I cough too much, sneeze, or laugh too hard. You are not alone.
  • My wife did that in front of me.  We laughed.
  • Happened to me twice today!
  • Lol this happens to me like at least every other day at this point

    *Lurking from December 17*

Ladies, consider this a public service announcement:
While snissing, or peezing or stress urinary incontinence, is quite common in pregnancy (and postpartum) it is most definitely NOT normal!
Please consider making a visit to a Pelvic Health/Women's Health Physical Therapiist and they can teach you how to not pee  your pants!
Most practitioners will see you in pregnancy or after your 6 week check postpartum!!
Trust me, I started snissing in 2nd tri, went to 1 appointment and even though I'm 12+ weeks more pregnant now snissing is an absolute rarity, and even when it does happen it's so minute of volume it's fine!
