    How are you feeling mentally/physically?
Feeling ok. Just starting 2nd trimester so I'm wavering between bouts of energy to bouts of insomnia.

    Any Questions?

GTKY: What foods are you craving right now or is food in general still a no go?
Pickles & popsicles. Especially lime and lemon popsicles. Anything sour is good for me!

    How are you feeling mentally/physically?
I'm anxious the last couple of days.  Had another SCH bleed overnight Sunday into Monday and my symptoms have really dropped off.  I know that could very well be b/c I'm moving into the 2nd tri but PGAL brain don't play.  I'll be worried until my next u/s.

    Any Questions?
I actually have 2 and may need to put them in the STM thread.

    1) Anyone else here w/ breast implants?  I'm curious to know about other ladies' experiences implants and whether they think anything was different for them.  I had a lift + implants 2 years ago and I know it may impact my ability to nurse but never thought about whether physical changes might be affected or not.

    2) I'm still a good 6 weeks out from feeling any movement or kicking, I think but am curious to know how you finally knew you were feeling your kiddo vs. run of the mill rumblings?  Is it that distinct of a difference?

GTKY: What foods are you craving right now or is food in general still a no go?
Still no real cravings but I had my first serious aversion last week.  Hubby & I went to his favorite seafood place at the beach and I ordered a shrimp & crab dish I usually love.  Took one whiff when the waitress put it in front of me and had to get her to box it up right away.  Yuck!  :s

  • @fatted_calf As far as movement, while it does feel a lot like gas early on, I distinctly remember that around 19 weeks with my first I felt a thump, and I knew for sure it was baby movement because it was nothing like I'd every felt before. Once you start feeling the baby for sure it's easier to distinguish the movement, but some of the rolling and kicks feel a lot like gas bubbles, just way stronger. I bet I felt some of the movement earlier than that thump, but that was the first one I recognized for sure, and after that it became consistent.

nausea is less, I have more energy
    Any Questions?

GTKY: What foods are you craving right now or is food in general still a no go?
fruit and veggies - I wasn't able to eat them in the 1st trimester and I love all the summer season produce

edited - appointment is in 2 weeks - pregnacy brain and wishful thinking that it was next week
  • @fatted_calf - I hope your appointment next week goes well! Sorry you're dealing with the anxiety waiting.
  • @rainafire77  I feel you on the insomnia. It just started all of a sudden.

@fatted_calf I hate to hear about the added stress. PGAL brain is tough enough without adding in other concerns. If you were close I'd let you borrow my doppler to hopefully reassure you. I know lots of people rag on them, but mine is such a crutch for me at this stage.

Not until end of August. Haven't actually SEEN baby since 8 weeks, and Dr. said probably won't do another US until anatomy scan at 19 weeks. I like that she thinks we don't need to check because we can find the HB regularly, but I want to see this baby!
    How are you feeling mentally/physically?
I had a solid week of feeling like I was back, but this week has been strange. I feel sick on and off, I'm so sleepy but I can't sleep. I have heartburn randomly for a minute and then its gone. Nothing makes sense anymore. Also, I'm about to start owning my bloat bump. I wear business casual clothes to work every day and most of my dresses for court are tight on my belly. I am ready to just introduce this belly to the world and stop trying to dress around it.
    Any Questions?
I had the same questions as @fatted_calf about baby movement. I'm SO looking forward to having that kind of reassurance, even though I know its a while away.
GTKY: What foods are you craving right now or is food in general still a no go?
Still want fruit and carbs and I still can't eat meat.
  • @fatted_calf   Sending you lots of positive thoughts and hoping time passes quickly for you until your next ultrasound! As far as movement, I remember def. feeling baby at 19-20 weeks.  It was so strange--it felt like three little kicks in a row or something.  I am interested when I will feel this baby move--I question it all the time!

  • @ash0625 & @fatted_calf Often the timing of feeling the baby move depends on your placenta placement. If you have an anterior placenta (in front) it may take you longer to feel the baby move. If it's posterior (in back) you won't have much to muffle the kicks and will probably feel things a bit sooner. FTM probably won't recognize the movements until further on, between 16-19 weeks but STM can feel & recognize movements sooner. I'm only 13 weeks and I've felt what could only be described as a feather rubbing inside my skin or bubbles right where the baby is. It's not daily and it's not constant but it's definitely not gas! LOL I'm hoping it will get more pronounced in the next couple of weeks. I have a posterior placenta this time so we shall see!

Any appointments or tests coming up? Not for a couple weeks

How are you feeling mentally/physically? Feeling
    pretty good mentally and physically

Any Questions?  I ordered the Sonoline B doppler but haven't had much luck finding baby's  heart beat.. :s I'm not going into panic mode, so I'm proud of myself for that.  I'm plus size so don't know if that matters with trying to find the heartbeat? Or maybe baby is active? Ladies with the doppler, any reccomendations?

GTKY: What foods are you craving right now or is food in general still a no go?

Pickles and spicy food... Chipolte was so yummy today!  Breakfast (omelets, hash browns, pancakes) have been hitting the spot lately too.

  • @alemarie1 - sorry you couldn't find your LO. I had tried a few weeks ago and it stressed me out - so I'm waiting a bit longer before I try again. My MD made it look so easy at my 8 week appointment I thought I'd be able to do it after 11 weeks - no luck,  I couldn't wait for my 12 week appointment I was so stressed.
  • @ash0625 and @fatted_calf I think I remember feeling my last 2 around 19 - 20 weeks, but it wasn't until later their movements were regular and consistent and I did kick counts.
  • @alemarie1 it's so tough the first time! I watched a lot of YouTube videos to try to get placement right. Other advice I have is to have someone else look. I have NEVER found his heartbeat. My husband always can.

definitely don't panic. Does your doctor know about your PGAL status? If it would ease your nerves, maybe just call and ask to see nurse to use their Doppler? My doc was super great about that for me for weeks.
  • @alemarie1 I haven't been able to find this baby's heartbeat yet with my Doppler--also plus size (if that matters).  I often wonder if people who "easily" find the heartbeat super early are actually finding the baby's heartbeat or their own.  Hang in there, dear!
  • @magnolia305 I've wondered the same. We waited until 11 weeks to search and it took forever. I always check my heart rate when I find one to be extra sure.

How far along are you? 14wks 3 Days

Any appointments or tests coming up? OB appt on 8/29 US 9/15 (Feel so far away. I want to see my little one, but my OB doesn't do their own US so i have to go a few floors down. I wish they were on the same day)

How are you feeling mentally/physically? I worry bc had a miscarriage two years ago and at times I have moments where I feel some anxiety bc I really want this pregnancy and this baby. I try to keep positive thoughts if I feel any of it coming and focus on the blessing that is about to fill my life.

Physically, I feel fine. I have moments where I have a lot of energy and other times I feel drained, but overall, I feel good.

Any Questions? Im considered plus size so I already had a little belly before, so at times I don’t feel pregnant bc I really can’t see my belly changing and other times it feels hard, esp after I eat. Anyone else experiencing that?

GTKY: What foods are you craving right now or is food in general still a no go? Fruits, lots and lots of fruits (watermelon and cantaloupes have been clutch), anything sweet (gummy bears have been my go to), and spicy foods (Snap into a Slim Jam OHH YEAH). Chipotle, #drool or anything Mexican for that matter  lol Still haven't been able to eat eggs, well only if its boiled but I miss omelets, egg whites #tears

  • @babyjjl2018 Yes I do feel that occasionally. It's perfectly normal. After I eat I feel like I have a rock sitting in my gut and it's super uncomfortable. I think at this point it's gas.

@fatted_calf I am 14wks and 3 days and about a week ago i felt fluttering in my lower abdomen and it stopped my in my tracks and then it happens again. I texted my coworker who is like a sister to me and told her about it. She said yea its going to feel like butterflies fluttering around sometimes which is the baby. Some people have said it sometimes feel like gas. I think of it as my kiddo telling me that she is doing ok down there as i am always in fear due to my MC, so I take those little flutters as a way for my little one telling me they are doing fine.

  • @rainafire77 OMG i had some serious gas one night and i have to get my mom to make some tea. It was so bad i was literally in tears. I didnt care how hot it was i inhaled it and when i finally burped, it was the sweeties reward.

OH and i to have had some insomnia. I thought I was going crazy, but looks like its a thing!!! I took a little 3 hours nap woke up and wasn't able to go back to sleep until 6am i was tired but my body wasn't allowing me to sleep. That has happened 3 times so far.
