We had an anatomy scan this morning and baby girl looked fine overall but is measuring in the 3rd percentile for weight- so they are concerned about IUGR. They advised we see MFM until she gets > 10th percentile. Anyone have any experience with this/in the same boat? How worried should we be scale of 1-10? I'm not overly worried at this time because I don't see the use in stressing over something we can't control.
Ps I haven't had time to scan all the threads lately for this topic so I apologize if it's repeatative!
What's everyone drinking besides water? I already do drink a lot of water (and one cup of coffee in the morning) but I'm finding myself craving sweet drinks (pop, OJ, etc). Not a tea drinker. Any suggestions for healthy alternatives?
@cbrennan04 go to the MFM, and you will get some extra growth scans. They just want to make sure that she is growing at a steady rate. My DS was measuring 1-2 weeks behind after the anatomy scan and they were worried about IUGR at 38 weeks because he was measuring at only 5lb 10oz. I wouldn't be too concerned until you consult with specialists. Ultrasounds can be off by a whole pound. When my DS was born (less than 24 hours after that last scan) he was a hefty 6lbs 8oz. Some women just grow small babies.
@ReadytoRun77 - I'm trying so hard to quit soda but I've increased my intake lately which I know is not great. I think it's because I find it comforting when I'm stressed which has been a lot recently. So no advice but looking forward to seeing the responses!
I'm majorly struggling with lunches lately. Like... I don't want anything to eat. Maybe I should just bring a box of cheerios and a gallon of milk to work. I'm lazy and I really don't want to deal with lunches. But I also don't want frozen lunches and PB&J is giving me heartburn already. What are you guys doing for lunch?
@supercoolstephy SAME! I freakin hate planning for lunch! I've been cooking a big batch of soup for the week in my slow cooker. I find recipes on Pinterest and I do hearty soups with grains and protein.
edit: also quinoa salads! You don't even have to heat those up, just make a big batch and refrigerate!
@supercoolstephy I've been struggling for lunch (and dinner!) too. A big part of my problem is that for the most part, I only want hot (as in temperature) food but that takes more planning than throwing 2 pieces of bread in a bag the night before.

@cbrennan04 my doc is worried about IUGR also because of my chronic preexisting high blood pressure. I know she plans for me to have weekly scans in the third trimester. I hope your girl is on track growing!
@ReadytoRun77 I'm doing terrible on that front too. I do drink a lot of water (2-3 32 oz bottles a day!) but I also drink Sprite like the Sprite fountain is about to dry up forever. Also I drink a lot of yellow powerade.
@Supercoolstephy I'm TERRIBLE about this too. Most days I eat out for lunch. Today I got a curry chicken wrap from a local wrap place. So good, but so expensive. I've been craving curry.
I haven't been here in a while simply because I didn't have the time. I am not sure, but I might be feeling baby - or I can feel my digestive system at work XD I don't remember what it was like with DS, so I really have no clue. It's an irregular pressure like feeling from the inside out, but only on one half of my belly (belly button to right side near my rib cage). Any guesses as to whether baby would be that high up already at 17+5?
@kathrinp The uterus is only as high as the belly button at 20 weeks. I would say you'd feel something no higher than belly button for baby movement, but I'm no expert. I'm currently 20 weeks and all the movement I'm feeling is way down near the pubic bone. She is sitting low I think.
@ReadytoRun77 I do the True Lemon packets in my water...all natural and a ton of different flavors to satisy the sweet craving...they are reasonable priced on Amazon as compared to the grocery store.
Anyone experienced/experiencing pelvic girdle pain? I felt a cold coming so I was resting all of yesterday and this morning on the couch. But I think that caused pain in my hip/butt area. It's super painful and I tried using a heat pad but I think it made it worse. I've been taking Tylenol for my throat and it hasn't helped the butt/hip pain. I also did a prenatal yoga video but it didn't help with the pain. Anyone have any suggestions?
@ReadytoRun77 seltzer is my go to! Flavored and helps me get the water in. Win win!
@kathrinp I thought the same thing and then went in for my a/s at 18 +1 and baby was transverse. Literally laying sideways behind my belly button. I'd think it's totally possible that you're feeling movement that high!

@ReadytoRun77 I have been craving the heck out of the Vitamin Water lemonade...sweetened with Stevia. SO GOOD.
