@allowachick Glad you got this started! How far along are you? 4w6d
Any appointments coming up? Not for a few weeks.
Questions? Nada.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I'm doing well - some symptoms are starting to pop up, which is reassuring. My first MC was at 5 weeks, so after tomorrow I'll feel a little better.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? Eh, we didn't go on vacation, but we usually went camping locally at least once per summer and that was pretty sweet.

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) The ms has set in, and I'm back to my pregnancy go to: Pringles. Also I've been lurking on the FTM check in, because for me at this point it feels like none of this is new yet even though this will hopefully be my first living child. I feel like I'm in a weird place being so early in pregnancy again. I feel like I'm just waiting to see what happens no matter how positive I try to stay.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? We went to Ocean City NJ every year with my cousins.
@allowachick Thanks for starting this! @hedgepig I know what you mean about just wanting to be past where you were when you Mc'd... though I can't imagine it gets easier after that.
How far along are you? 5w today
Any appointments coming up? u/s in two weeks
Questions? only ones that can be answered by a crystal ball.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) honestly, not super well. I'm freaking out about every little twitch and twang. I've had this persistent pain on my lower right side all day that I'm pretty sure is related to me being unable to poop, but it's similar enough to the pain I had the day before I miscarried that I'm sort of freaking out about it. If it's still there tomorrow, I'll call my OB. I hate this, so much.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? We were poor when I was growing up so we didn't go anywhere, ever. I guess my favorite vacation spot would be a tree I used to climb at my grandma's house.
@looeeze I'm so sorry that you're feeling so anxious and crummy. FX that the pain goes away (I was definitely having some pain related to not pooping, so I get where you're coming from) and you feel better tomorrow... hugs friend!

Any appointments coming up? Not until mid-August. I basically told my RE office to f-off when I found out I was pregnant this time. With my MC earlier this summer, I went in for the bloodwork, ultrasound, etc. This time I'm just like, "Leave me alone so I can enjoy this", so I'm waiting to see my regular OB in a few weeks.
Questions? Not really - just relaxing!
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) Good. I still think that every little thing must be blood, and so I go to the bathroom a lot. That's how it started with my MC in May, so I'm paranoid. Trying to relax a bit, though. I think I'm starting to get a few symptoms this time around ...the MS hasn't fully kicked in, but I remember what it felt like with my daughter, and I think it's on the brink.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? We vacationed in Rehobeth Beach, DE and I loved it!
@hedgepig I hear you on wanting to be past where you were with mc. For me my first mc wasn't till 9 weeks but on us baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks
@sandbridge1030 I'm right there with you on thinking everything must be spotting. I'm really hoping I don't have spotting whatsoever because that was how both my mc's started
@looeeze I'm so sorry you're having a familiar pain. I hope it's left the building
@allowachick Yeah, my second MC was similar to yours - we found out at our U/S at 11 1/2 weeks that the baby had stoped growing at 8 1/2 weeks. This time I have a U/S scheduled for 8 weeks, which won't quite get me past that worrying point. I'm hoping that the reassurance of a good U/S and heartbeat will be enough. I hope everything goes smoothly for you too - when is your first U/S scheduled?

@hedgepig I know someone on the TTCAL grad board who just got to see a healthy heartbeat on her us, and it was really helpful. Hopefully yours will be the same. I never saw a heartbeat the first time b/c they had stopped growing too soon. That's what we were going to see at that appointment, so I'm sure it will be stressful. I don't have it scheduled yet because I can't seem to get a call back about my betas to save my life, and I wanted to talk to the midwives about timing before harassing the scheduling people.
@hedgepig Thanks for asking. The pain is still there but it's lessened a bit. And it's also started on the other side which weirdly made me feel better.
@looeeze I'm glad the pain is less intense. I see what you mean about feeling it in the other side making it seem more normal. Hopefully you keep feeling better
Any appointments coming up? Not until the end of the month
Questions? Nope
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here). I really go back and forth, emotionally. I definitely am having emotional swings that are hormone related, but I also go from being convinced "this is it", to insideous what ifs. Currently I am freaking out about being 35 while pregnant because that somehow makes me higher risk. Which is dumb.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? Going to the lake and fishing. Some really good memories there .
I just came back from an emergency u/s. The doctor (not mine, but a resident on call) was suuuuuper unhelpful and basically told me 1) there's definitely a gestational sac in the right place but can't see any yolk sac yet (hooray but yikes and fu@#$), 2) my pain might be a million things and most are nothingburgers but the only one he wanted to talk about was a heterotopic pregnancy, where there's one twin in the uterus and one twin in an ectopic. Can't tell for sure yet, have to wait til u/s in two weeks, or go back in if pain gets worse. Whaaat.
@looeeze I second the ice cream eating idea. I'm so sorry it was so confusing. Hopefully the pain gets better and it isn't anything bad. Did they say if they expect to see a yolk sac yet?
@allowchick it's a bit too early to see anything so they're going to check in two weeks. So I think right after your u/s, right? I also got another beta and depending on how that is, I'll get another one in a few days.
@looeeze sounds about right. I think I'm gonna push my us as close to 7w as I can bear to have a better chance of seeing the heartbeat. S/o you might get to see your lo's heartbeat if your follow up us is in week 6! Good luck with your betas! I forget did you have betas done yet?
Any appointments coming up? I'll probably call tomorrow and set one up. I can't decide if I want to go to my OB and get levels done to make me feel better or have faith that everything is going to be ok. I'm thinking about switching to a birthing center for my birth.
Questions? anyone that got your levels checked, did it make you feel better or feed the paranoia?
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I'm doing ok. I've been to therapy for 5 weeks now to cope with my MC and with my labor and delivery of DS. The coping mechanism has helped. I'm naturally a super anxious person so when I was pregnant with DS, MC was my worst fear. So when it happened with my second pregnancy, it was devasting.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? I went to Orlando a lot and Northern VA, near D.C. I'm a city vacationer more than the beach or mountains.
@tgortney I did have betas drawn. It helped to hear good results at first but now that it's been a week my anxiety is back up there because who knows what's going on now. I can't say I would skip them in the future, just that there is always another worry around the corner it seems
@allowachick that's a good point, it helps you feel relief but only temporary. I think truly seeing the heartbeat at 6-8 weeks lasts much longer. Thank you for your response!
Any appointments coming up? I get more bloodwork done and an ultrasound Tuesday morning!
Questions? Not at the moment
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I'm actually doing pretty good considering I've had five losses in a row. I never had any problems staying pregnant until after my youngest was born, and they haven't really been able to figure it out. This is the first pregnancy that I don't need to take additional hormones. My last mc was in April and I was on progesterone injections and had to wear an estrogen patch. My RE wanted us to do a round of injectables my next cycle after that, but DH and I decided we needed a break. We had actually started to talk ourselves into being ok with not having another kid when this happened. Funny how things work out, I really hope this is it.
GTKY: What was your favorite summer vacation growing up? I loved going to the beach.
@tgortney it makes me feel better to know my levels. With my previous losses, the initial blood draw was never over 50. This time it was 245, so I have more hope.
So I decided against getting my levels checked because I think it'll only make me feel slightly better. Mostly because there's not much I can do with those numbers except obsess over them. I guess I'll just keep having faith

I'm in the same boat. I went through a TON of drama last month trying to get a beta series (nobody would do the second draw, and eventually I got forced to go into the ER, where everyone was like "why are you here? Just get a second draw").
This time around, I decided it isn't worth the drama, and the only value at this point would be to just give me 48 hours notice that I'm going to bleed.
ETA: I am tracking my BBT, so that does pretty much the same thing a beta series would do. I could see the crash coming.
@ngolimento I asked for some advice from a friend and she said that think of it as your body saying no news is good news. I'm just trying to make it past 12 days (when my MC happened) and until that first ultrasound when I hear that HB.
@ngolimento Is that true that you can predict a MC by continuing to temp? Interesting....
Absolutely. Last month around 14 dpo, my temps started to go up and down wildly, instead of maintaining that beautiful stable elevation that pregnancy causes. By 16 dpo I was bleeding. I will see if I can figure out how to post my chart today to show you.
@hedgepig I overlayed my current chart (healthy pregnancy temps) with last month's chart. You can see my temps doing a nice smooth pregnancy uptick for three days, then start wildly jagging up and down. That's HCG starting to fall.
