Morning everyone! I'm 18 weeks today and wondering about sleeping on my back. I often go to sleep on one side or the other but wake on my back. If I deliberately lie on my back it isn't uncomfortable, but is that a thing I'll definitely know when I need to stop?
@ryannenikole I think this was being discussed on a different thread but I cannot remember which one. In short, your body will let you know. You may begin to feel lightheaded, or you may wake up in the middle of the night on your back which would be your body's way of telling you to change positions.
Question for either STMs or mommas with a fuller bust: What's a good, supportive bra? What should I be looking for in a bra?
I was a D cup pre pregnancy and now I'm a DDD and every day, my upper back has been killing me. I feel like I need something with a lot of back support and thick straps. I used to just wear VS bras but they're not practical for my growing boobs and they're not providing enough support.

I shop on AdoreMe for my bras lately! I was a DD when I was pregnant the first time but I'm an H this time around! They are decently priced and you can get some of the bras with maternity straps so that you can use them for nursing. I have to buy plus size bras in order to find my size but DDD might be in both sections on their site. Plus, they are super cute and mine have all been really comfortable.
@agalvarado Go someplace like a traditional department store that actually carries big cup sizes, and get measured! Don't cheat yourself by getting a smaller cup and bigger band size, you need the support from the band. I like Freya brand but they're expensive (ordered online from Figleaves); lately I've been happy enough with some cheapies from Kohl's. I look for 3 or 4 hooks in the back, wide straps (currently wearing 3/4"), underwire (personal preference), and soft foam cups with NO extra padding, bc who needs it at that point.
@agalvarado I bought sports bras from Target to tide me over for now! I wear cardigans to work most of the time so it isn't an issue. Lol. I do need to get a better "real" bra though. I was a 32 DD before so shopping has always been difficult. Allegedly my grandma was built like me and got smaller after pregnancy so my fingers are crossed for a more proportional size down the road. Didn't work out for my sister but I still have hope.
@gilsam1 mine haven't this time. Last time I needed to buy a new bra so I bought up a size and I never grew into it. I feel like my boobs grew more at the end and more after the baby was worn and my milk started to come in.
@gilsam1 mine haven't grown yet either. They were huge my last pregnancy, but I've apparently been spared this time. Don't worry, there is plenty of time for massive once the milk comes... enjoy them not changing sizes for now.
I had Pre-E the first time around. I was pretty dizzy but also had some vision issues. My blood pressure has been good so far and I don't do a 24 hour urine for another month.
Just curious to see if anyone else is still getting dizzy.
@burnsmommy27 I get dizzy every once in awhile, usually if I haven't been drinking enough water. I've also been watching for the other pre-e symptoms, but nothing so far.
Thanks @kelk5@schaze@Dani0329! Glad I'm not the only suffering hormonal flucations still. I'll be keeping an eye on it for sure, gonna see if I can find a correlation to anything particular
My left ear will frequently clog, like I'm underwater. It's annoying, and not related to anything else going on in my life, so I'm assuming it's some pregnancy side effect.
For the most part I still don't feel particularly pregnant right now. Once in a blue moon I feel the heavy uterus feeling, but not much else. Just soreness and fatigue; that could be anything, lol.
Edit: y'all, I'm a moron and thought I was in symptoms, not questions. Ignore my babbling. It's been a long few weeks here.
@Dani0329 I had a Bartholin Cyst removed at 4 weeks pregnant. Worst experience of my life. They put in a word catheter, but the balloon deflated the same day and it closed up. It was a rough few days, but now it's pretty much gone. It did bleed quite a bit, but a lot of that was just the sac that the Cyst was in clearing itself up. I hope your recovery from that goes smoothly! I would not wish a Bartholin Cyst on my worst enemy...
@Cricket99 Thank you! This number 5 in 7 years. My doctor wanted me to try to hold off and have the gland removed at delivery, but I couldn't. I hope my catheter does not deflate, ahhhh. They are going to take it out next week, so FX.
@kelk5 Thanks! Pretty sure the worst is over but I'm taking a sick day to rehydrate. Last night was kind of awful. Fortunately DH hasn't gotten it yet. I had to explain about the weekend immune system being partly to blame and all that. Lol. Today my plan is lots of Gatorade and PBJs.
@cupcakebugx3@bainidhedub@ryannenikole thank you ladies! I purchased a bra with thick straps and 4 hooks at the back from target, and I've had NO BACK PAIN!!! Thank you for your suggestions!!
I'm at that point where, at 16 weeks, I think I've felt movement for the past couple days but today I haven't felt anything, and it's making me nervous. I know it's early, but it still doesn't help my PGAL brain calm down. I felt DS unmistakably at 16 weeks. Figured it would have been earlier, if not now, this time around. I recall something similar being discussed on another thread a week or two ago, so I apologize. I just needed to vent.
@Peepster you're not alone! FTM here with PGAL brain at 18 weeks who has felt a flutter maybe 2-3x but not enough for certainty. It's hard not to compare with others (or yourself, in your case) and I'm trying as hard as possible not to get worried. But it makes me feel just a little better when others report no/limited movement yet - obviously I want everyone to feel it, but knowing I'm not out of the ordinary sure helps.
@Peepster and @libbberty, also a FTM PGAL. I started my 19th week and haven't felt anything yet. I read the normal range is 18-23 weeks to start to feel baby move, but I'm hoping it is soon. I also read that they don't recommend counting fetal kicks before week 28, which I think is because of the irregularity of feeling the baby before then.
Keep in mind that if you have an anterior placenta that you might not feel kicks for a while too and usually you won't find out till your AS ultrasound. I had one last time and asked my ob about it this time and she told me we wouldn't know till then.
@Peepster with DD, I felt her move around 18 weeks and not again for maybe another month which is when it picked up in consistency. Try not to worry! Easier said than done, I know!
@Peepster I'm a STM and I felt baby move twice around 14 weeks and I didn't feel anything else until last night (18 weeks). I know this is completely normal, but I did bring it up in my midwife Centering group. She told the group that she doesn't expect us to feel consistent movement until at LEAST 25 weeks, but more like 30. But I definitely get the anxiety.
Went for 17weeks ultrasound today. I have a low lying posterior placenta. This has got me worried. Dr says placenta might move upwards with uterus expanding in few weeks. Has put me on bed rest.... Want to cry...
Bed rest.... Its very difficult with no one around for help, two kids and also won't b allowed to travel, not to pick weight, not to do anything that would need me to stand for more than an hour.... Like what???? What am i suppose to do for next 5 months!!!!! ... :'( :'( :'(
@sonalisharma did he say just low lying or partial/full previa? I've not heard of bed rest for just low lying, so hopefully he's just being abundantly cautious! I had a low lying placenta with DS2 and just had to get a second scan to confirm it moved, which it did/they usually do. Try not to let it get you down!

For my previous 2 pregnancies i had cervical stich as OS was open, so he said i might need one for the 3rd time as well. Placenta is 1cm from cervix. Dr will send me for us after a month again. Reports do not say placenta previa, just low lying, 1 cm from cervix. Is it something to b worried about?
@sonalisharma ah! Gotcha the cervical stitch history makes more sense why they're putting you on bedrest now as a precaution. I'm not a medical professional, so I'd ask your doctor, but I'd think the fact that it's only low lying and not partial previa is good news!

I am constantly dizzy and it only seems to get worse each week. I didn't have pre-e with DD but had the same problem.
TMI
The amount of blood is freaking me out but I know it should be expected and heard a heartbeat today. Being a woman sucks balls, sometimes.

I may have contracted a stomach bug. Or food poisoning.
@ryannenikole, being sick and preggars is awful, I hope you start feeling better soon.
