We have DS's 1st birthday party tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it but at this point I'm more stressed out than anything. There's so much I need to get done and no energy or motivation to do it. DS is also getting 3 top teeth at once so he's been on and off crabby, and he's been running a fever. Not to mention morning sickness has picked the last few days to show up, sigh. I can't believe my baby is going to be 1
I am officially in a three day lockdown with my kiddo, trying to potty train. I am a person who likes to go places and accomplish things, so three days of staying inside and not doing anything but potty training sounds like jail. I've been dreading this for a while and hoping girlfriend will go with a more gradual approach, but that isn't working.

Omg you are my hero. I need to do this but I'm over here in denial still

@beena722 - happy birthday to your DS! GL with the party! @ngolimento - GL with potty training. I'm a FTM so I have no idea how that works yet but I can imagine it will be close to prison for the next 3 days.
Last night DH and I went on a little date - dinner, Marshall's, and putt putt golf. When we play putt putt golf, we always make a bet. My bet was sex and DH's was not sex or a back rub. Ugh! Usually DH is usually the one who is all over me and complaining we don't have sex enough but now that I'm pregnant he's so worried he's going to hurt the baby. I've told him a million times that he can't hurt the baby but he won't listen. It's going to be a long year (9 months plus the postpartum time).

Squeee! My test lines just took off like a rocket, and I'm pulling lines as dark as the control line at 16dpo. I am so relieved! It's been haunting me that I haven't been pulling dark lines, because I did with my daughter at like 12dpo. I know every pregnancy is different, but after my miscarriage last month, I've been dying for that strong line.
@ngolimento I hear you-- PGAL brain plays the meanest tricks. I did the same thing, but stopped once I got test lines as dark as the control, because after a certain point they will get lighter again.
@ngolimento Good luck with the potty training! I don't miss those days ETA: I've been doing the same with tests too. The line has been as dark as the control line for about a week and I'm so excited! With my previous losses, they were fading by now.
We finally have a free weekend, and the weather is nice and cool. My goal is to organize the house and get clothes ready for when school starts, because I know it will be chaos then. I teach first grade and coach high school softball so the first 8 wks are a little crazy. I also need to get some work done in my classroom. We will probably take the kids fishing too.
@lolablue3 - you coach HS softball? That's amazing! I was a major softball player growing up and played in college as well. One of my former teammates now coaches at our high school and I would love to have that job. I'm so jealous of you!
PS - Are you somewhere warm? Softball is a spring sport here in New England, because snow and cold
@bettyvonsomethingstein, I think he knows. He is only 3 and they are leaving soon, so if he is anything like my kids, surprises aren't really a good thing and he needs prep time. Lol

I used this method and am so glad i stuck out the three days a! We never bought or used pull ups!!
We went couch shopping today. Got a great deal and I only had to curl up in a ball for half the trip. The salesman offered to get my a wheel chair to the car. I might have drawn a bit of attention to myself.
@allowachick the one I won was the ARDO Calyso-to-go. From the demo, it looked pretty awesome.
My previous one was the Medela Pump in style advance. It got the job done but I didn't love it and won't miss it.
I'm going to get the Spectra S2 through insurance with this baby. I've heard way better things about it. I'm aiming for a closed system pump because it's cleaner.
Happy Birthday to you DS @beena722 hope the party goes great
GL on the potty training @ngolimento. My DD is sometimes quite great at it then isn't. So hope this 3 day lock down works
So today was my dad's birthday And we had a cook out at my parents house. My parents, my brothers and their wives and children were all there. Thankfully I didn't feel sick, which I thought I would since there were hot dogs and last pregnancy I got sick from the smell of them. And it looks like nobody even had a clue (they could have but they didn't say anything) so I will put that one in the win column
**lurker** @tgortney I switched from medela PISA to spectra and never looked back. Love it. Also, just so you know you can continue to use your medela parts with a spectra pump using an adapter from Maymom available on amazon here. So much cheaper than buying all new parts for the spectra.

@fishsticks-n-custard thanks! I haven't heard a single bad thing about the spectra. I wasn't prepared when I picked my pump the first time but now I have standards lol
I have insomnia so bad tonight. I tried to fight it for an hour. Gave up and came down to put bread in the bread maker. Because who doesn't want a fresh loaf warm and ready for breakfast. Sigh. I might have also had a slice of pizza....
@ekendall09 middle of the night bread making ... that's dedication. Meanwhile I refuse to resign myself to the fact that I will likely not sleep as I stare at my mobile screen...
So my H and I just moved into a new house a few months ago and this morning I was ripping our kitchen apart looking for a pan that I couldn't find ANYWHERE. After going through the kitchen 100 times I woke my H up and told him I was going crazy and this pan was missing. So he gets up and immediately opens this drawer in our kitchen that I had NO IDEA even existed! Found a bonus pan in there he must have apparently put away at some point too.
@kmalls I do! Softball was my whole life growing up also, and I played in college. It's a second year program and I'm the head coach, I love it so far. It's a crazy season with a lot packed in to 8 weeks, but it's a lot of fun. I'm in Nebraska, so not super warm unless it's summer. It seems like we are one of the only states that has high school softball in the fall. Districts and State can be pretty cold in October!
@lolablue3 I love softball too. I started when I was six and played every year till I graduated. I joined a few city teams after high school. I havent played in about 2 years though. Coaching a high school team is my dream job. Maybe in a few years one will open up.
