Meh, my family isn't known for our cooking. We're all okay-good. I'm going for extended friend-family. My friend Damon is a chef and can make anything taste delicious without being fussy. My mom is adventurous and creative in the kitchen which can be really great sometimes and, well, not so great sometimes.

El Metate. It's this BOMB taqueria in SF that makes the best burrito in the entire world. And their salsa is truly amazing.
Who in your family (immediate or otherwise) is the best cook and why?
My husband. He's the cook in our house. I'm the clean up crew
What is your go to snack when you are starving but have no idea what to eat?

Probably kraft mac n' cheese, sometimes with a can of tuna mixed in (which DH thinks is completely disgusting, but I grew up on it)
If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life what would it be?
Hmmm.... that one's really hard! I think either Shady Glen in Vernon, CT - best cheeseburgers and milk shakes ever or Rein's Deli in Vernon, CT. I grew up going to both those places.

If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life what would it be? That's a hard one- I love variety. Maybe sushi? Oooh, even better- the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace. By far, it's the most impressive buffet I've ever been to with so many options and cuisines. Now I'm drooling.

If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life what would it be? Friends don't require friends to make choices like this... I don't think I could choose.
Who in your family (immediate or otherwise) is the best cook and why? In the side of my family that includes my mom, she reigns. In the side of my family that does not (ugly divorce), I have inherited her title. (Dad's side of the family isn't much for cooking but they're big on eating, and everyone fondly remembers my mom's cooking -- so I make some of her favorites now and then for holidays.)
What is your go to snack when you are starving but have no idea what to eat?
This sounds weird, but... Goldfish crackers in a little bowl mixed with buffalo sauce (I call it "hot fish" for short). But lately, since I'm trying to consider the health of the little one, I'm more likely to reach for my cut up watermelon or grapes.
What is your favorite quick, easy, last minute dinner?
Trader Joe's frozen Gnocchi, or linguine w/clam sauce.
If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life what would it be?
This is one of the hardest questions I have ever had to answer! It would have to be our local House of Pizza... they actually have a pretty extensive menu for a little local place, and the best curly fries I've ever had. But then again, if I could never have Mexican food again, I might die of a broken heart.
Who in your family (immediate or otherwise) is the best cook and why?
Neither of us come from families with good cooks, but when DH and I work together on a recipe we absolutely rock it. He's got cool ideas and great skills with proteins and I have the palette for spices and the eye for aesthetics.

2) we mix kitchens of India veggie curry with tofu and rice pilaf. It's yummy.
3) there's a Thai place near me called Sea Siam. Everything there is excellent.
4) my husband Bc he has more patience than I do. He might say me because I can make some meals from scratch just by throwing things together and homeboy needs a recipe for almost everything.
What is your favorite quick, easy, last minute dinner? "Stir fry" chicken, onions, and mushrooms, or spaghetti in the InstantPot. But in all honesty fast food wins out most of the time.

@kvacmak I live in metro Detroit, but every so often I will cross the border into Windsor for The Keg. I will drive for food LOL (it's about 45-50 minutes away). What is lobster summer? Maybe I need to plan on going there soon.
What is your favorite quick, easy, last minute dinner? Lately we've been doing refrigerated ravioli and sauce, but stir fries are good, too, if I have the stuff on hand! Tacos, too. The butter and onion tomato sauce mentioned above is also awesome

@kaylawing Is there anything in particular that you would recommend from there? I forgot mention how much I love Granite City's spinach and artichoke dip. There's a few around, but the closest is in Northville. It's a chain in other states as well so if any of ladies live near one, I highly suggest it. They also have this layered chocolate cake with a whiskey butter sauce and I always add a scoop of ice cream. Looks like I've got to come up with a plan to go to all of these restaurants now.
Oh and berries (any kind) are a great snack too. I didn't think about that until I ate some a little while ago.
For Frita Batidos, the main part of their menu consists of "Fritas" which are Cuban style burgers. I get the chicken and add cheese and avocado slaw and a side of garlic cilantro fries. Yum! My husband loves the chorizo.

Who in your family (immediate or otherwise) is the best cook and why? my side of the family has a ton of good cooks. Both my parents were excellent and my sister now is climbing the ranks too. I'm always amazed at my mom in particular who will memorize a recipe after making it once, but then will "doctor" it up as she says, and add a few things here and there to make that recipe her own.

2. Quick dinner: pasta and meat sauce, or grilled chicken, rice and madras lentils from Costco.
3. Restaurant: Seeing as the Mexican border is literally 15 minutes away, I'll say anything that is true authentic Mexican. But then again, I also could live off of this one restaurants' spaghetti bolognese.
4. Best cook: in MY house, me. 4 years of culinary school, 2 degrees and 12 years restaurant experience (mainly in the kitchen) id hope I can cook. I just don't do it very often these days. In my family, probably my MIL.
@Kirss I can't seem to order anything other than the chocolate cake, but the cookie sounds good too. Maybe I'll give it a try one day.
