Re: UO Thursday 8/3

  • @JamieK1882  NO! I love Cat and Jack!!!!!! I hope it's just an addition not a replacement.

I personally LOVE gender specific clothing. I mean, gender neutral is ok sometimes and I'm certainly not gonna go crazy with gender specific all the time, but I really liked dressing DS in very boy looking clothes because how else are other people gonna know he's a boy as a baby?!

@tlcl13 I was team green with DS and we just waited until he was born to buy a lot of the clothes. We had a few onesies and kinda gender neutral stuff (yellow, green) and then one boy outfit and one girl outfit to take them home in. We actually ended up receiving a TON of adorable outfits as gifts after he was born so it ended up working out nicely. Double gifts because no one knew the gender at the shower but everyone still wants to buy clothes!!!!

  • @tlcl13 I find that the lack of gender-neutral clothing options keeps my shopping under control until the baby's born  ;)
  • I think summer sucks and fall/winter are the best seasons.

  • @missydallas LOL I don't know how I never figured where you were from  :D
  • @missydallas same! I have sleep bras that I wear every night
  • @muggle621 It's up to you. My daughter doesn't watch any TV, and she listens to whatever my husband and I feel like listening to. She loves all kinds of music, especially the Beatles.
  • @missydallas I can't not wear a bra. I have gigantoboobs. I only take mine off to sleep. I actually hate bras and really wish I could live without them. I dream of getting a breast reduction.
  • @tlc13 did you see Targets new line? It's gender neutral, but I think it might be for older kids (toddlers and up). I think it's replacing cat and jack
Say it ain't so! I love Cat & Jack! :(
  • @happymonkey817 - Same here! After I'm done having kids - I'm totally getting a breast reduction.
  • @day38 I have had sushi and sushi burritos since I've gotten pregnant and I'm so not sorry. I only go to a place that I've been to a bunch and know the sushi is fresh but... I'm not giving it up this time.

@JamieK1882 I didn't, they had a lot of clearance stuff at my target so maybe they're making room for the new line!?!

I'm definitely team finding out but I'm dying to buy a few outfits right now, hence the need for gender neutral  ;)

Edit to add: I love Cat and Jack. It has been my go to over the past few months when I needed to buy baby gifts!
  • @missydallas That was going to be my UO! I can't stand not wearing a bra and I sleep in one (or a nursing tank) every night.

@JamieK1882 I hope Cat & Jack isn't going anywhere! They have the cutest stuff and those are my favorite baby jeans that I've found!
  • Guys, I saw an article on Facebook yesterday that said Target is getting rid of their old brands (including Mossimo and Morena) and replacing them with new ones.
  • @wisewitch222 I hope they replace the prices with lower ones, but I doubt it. I've always kinda liked Merona but the prices in recent years have crept up. At the end of the day Target needs to remember that they're not fooling anyone with fancy price tags. It's still just Target and I don't want to pay $30 for a shirt.

@ShawnnaO I was wrong. I just googled and it replaced Messimo and Merona

Edit to add @wisewitch222 was right!
    @mamaloba816 @ tlcl113 @HappyMonkey817 @KristinUM12

just wanted to clarify so I wasn't causing unnecessry anxiety lol
  • @JamieK1882 whew. I do like Cat and Jack and it was new last year.
  • @bookishbaker I feel like your hunch is right. The article didn't say anything about prices, but the tone of the quotes suggested they wanted their brands to be more desirable rather than affordable.

My UO: I dislike the drama threads, especially the ones that attract people far outside the bmbs (not talking about month straddlers). I dislike when people tell people to leave TB.

I think "why do people even respond if it's bothering them? Just move on!" but then I don't take my own advice and I keep on reading and reading and reading and reading...

Edited bc this is the first time I've gif'ed and I don't think it worked.

Drama is inevitable. I usually just lurk it. Sometimes it goes too far, but in the process I often learn who I share views with, and who I wouldn't get along with IRL. So it is oddly useful.
This might be a confession, but this is exactly why I would like a few subjects to make their rounds in the group.

It'll happen naturally, I think, in time.  :)
  • @vflux33 yes! My thoughts exactly!
  • I realize this is a Thursday thread and it's Friday, so please forgive me, but here's my UO.... I hate all of these acronyms. I mean does anyone actually refer to their husband as "darling husband" in real life? (Or should I say IRL?)
  • @stlbuckeye132 I'm the same way. I've never been one to abbreviate things. I always just say my husband or my daughter.
  • @tlcl13 @ShawnnaO I MISS Aldis! But Yes, I'm in South Texas. HEB rules the area and pretty much runs everyone else out.

@stlbuckeye132 @vflux33 I see DH as dear husband instead of darling. I totally say dear husband but it's mostly to tease him. Ha.

Also add my to team #wearallthebras. I have to sleep in a soft sports bra or nursing tank.

  • Someone on here mentioned Buccee's yesterday and now I'm sad. That may have been my favorite part of road tripping through Texas last summer.
