I had the blood draw for my 3rd beta and progesterone this morning. I'll get the results tomorrow. Then I'm guessing I'll have one more on Thursday - they said they'll keep testing until my HCG reaches 1000< and then schedule an US.
Although I'm not sure if I'll still have to have BW to monitor my progesterone until 10ish weeks.
Called my OBGYN going to go in after work to get my blood drawn to check my levels. Then she said 40 hours later I'll have to get them checked again to make sure HCG has risen. So will be making two stops at the doctor this week
I had my bloodwork for my second set of betas this morning. I should get a call with results tomorrow. Hopefully they're headed up the way they should be.
I had my first appointment today. I gave a urine sample, saw the doctor for a few minutes, and then gave so much blood! 7 vials it turned out to be because my vein started to do something weird and she wasn't sure that it would be a good sample. I ended up getting super lightheaded and pale so needed to lay down for a few minutes. Luckily I don't have to get more blood work until 20 weeks. Unfortunately I don't get an ultrasound until 11-12 weeks which makes me so nervous.
Update on my appointment from yesterday. (Wasn't really an appointment just blood work) they call and said my hcg was high which was good but my progesterone was a little lower then what they would like so they gave me a prescription to help raise it. One of the side effects is dizziness and oh wow they aren't lying after about a half hour of taking it I get hit hard with dizziness. I go back tomorrow to have another blood draw to make sure my numbers have risen. I hope they do
Again GL with everyone else who has appointments this week
@justkeepswimming8 Christ on a bike! Why the heck did they need 7 vials of blood?????
And, thanks for asking! I think I updated everywhere but here: my 18 DPO HCG was at 655, which is perfect! And, my progesterone was at 50, so they might let me stop using the inserts after my first ultrasound. I have one more blood draw tomorrow, and if my HCG is 1000< they'll schedule my first ultrasound and hopefully stop drawing blood!
@lund great numbers! Hopefully you can get off inserts and blood draws asap. She tried one vein and it started to bubble so she was worried there was air in the samples so she had to throw out the first two vials. She tried another vein and then took the 5 that she needed. Apparently they are testing for a bunch of stuff, not just HCG and progesterone.

@justkeepswimming8 thanks! And, I'd LOVE to know what they're testing for beyond HCG and progesterone that takes an extra 3 viles... just because I'm nosey and also wondering if there's anything my RE is skipping lol.
@lund looks like ABO/RH type, antibody screen, CBC w/ diff-complete blood count, HBs Anitgen, HIV, RPR w/relex, and rubella. Not sure what half of that means though lol 1 vial for hcg, 1 for progesterone, 1 for culture, 1 for ob panel with hiv, and 1 for ventipuncture.

@lund lol yeah I didn't realize they would be testing all this stuff. A few of those tests I know won't be necessary but I'm sure it's just standard for that practice to be 100% sure. Hopefully if I stay with this practice for our second they won't need to test so much stuff. Maybe your RE already tested it in previous blood work?
Married: August 2014 TTC #1: February 2017 - BFP 7/28/17; EDD 4/8/18; DD born 4/7/18 TTC #2: February 2019
@justkeepswimming8, @lund those are all just standards ran sometime in first tri. ABO/RH is blood type, CBC is checking all basic blood cell levels and maturity distribution, RPR I believe is shingles's, and rubella is measles,
After doing a little digging, it looks like it's likely that once I switch from my RE to an OB, my OB will order those tests. I guess some don't do them until you're 8-10 weeks.
My RE didn't do them, so I'll be sure to make sure my OB does! I'd ask my RE to do them, but then I'm afraid it wouldn't be coded under normal prenatal stuff (aka covered by insurance).
They posted my results! 1,083 HCG and 16.6 progesterone. I'm happy with those numbers (well the HCG at least, not sure what the normal range for progesterone but based on previous lurking it doesn't seem too low). Not sure if they will call to discuss but all the other results look good too. I think this will hold me over for a couple of days.

@justkeepswimming8 YAY! How many DPO were you when they did the blood draw? And, like @saralee797-2 said, I think anything over 15 is considered fine for progesterone. My RE likes to see it over 20, but I'm assuming that's just overly cautious because's dealing with reproductively challenged women
AFM, had what I'm hoping is my last blood draw today. I'm a bit nervous because in the past they took two viles - one for HCG and one for progesterone. Today they confirmed that it was for both HCG and progesterone, but only took one vile. If they eff this up I'm totally driving 75 miles to my Sanford lab to have it done again lol. Screw work!
I have an emergency appointment this afternoon. I started spotting, which I an not actually concerned about, I have in all my pregnancies. But my regular OBgyn is on vacation this week and he other guy says I need to be seen. I don't really know what they are going to do beyond blood work, so I an aggravated I have to go in
@Holly321 Maybe they just want to make sure your progesterone levels are where they should be. I think it is great they are being proactive. Hopefully, it is nothing to worry about!
Thanks ladies, I am not too concerned, I am super symptomatic and have a history of bleeding in pregnancy for no good reason.
@saralee797-2, I know I shouldn't complain, but I know my doctor would just send me for blood work and have me come in once an ultrasound will actually show something. I am just grouchy today.
@holly321 - I hope everything goes okay at your appointment!
So they just uploaded some more test results (I guess they didn't include everything this morning like I thought) and it looks like my white blood cell count, platelets, and lymphocytes are high based on their range (outside the range high). This makes me kind of worried but if I don't hear from the doctor then it should be okay, right? I haven't been sick recently.

@justkeepswimming8 hopefully they will call you soon. But from my experience that just represents a mild viral infection. Struggling with sinuses or anything?
@holly321 I get it. I am totally sick of being pricked but I guess having gone through IF I feel like I will take all the appointments if it gives a little reassurance. Either way I hope they get you in and out and everything is just fine!
@saralee797-2, I guess what I was getting at, is at 5 weeks pregnant, what reassurance can an appointment really give me? My OBgyn would have literally just made me get blood work and called me the next day. If anything, the internal I had today made me worry when I wasn't. He said he couldn't tell if my uterus is enlarged (which I don't think it "has" to be yet, so still trying to stay worry free). And then he pretty much made it sound like if progesterone is low he doesn't try to save the pregnancy (or see the point in trying to save the pregnancy) because it is most likely already doomed.
Overall, he felt everything was probably fine, since I have spotting in all my pregnancies, he is calling with HCG and progesterone level tomorrow and will most likely repeat HCG levels Monday to see when I can have my ultrasound moved up to.
