My question is for 2nd & 3rd time mom's etc, did you go into labor faster once you started dilating & effacing? I've also been getting contractions for 1.5 weeks now & they're becoming more intense. I've gone on walks & had sex. I want baby out..lol. Would love your input
My input? You're not even the technical full term yet (37 weeks.) You should probably chill out on trying to get baby out. Baby will come when baby is ready. I've been walking around at 3cm for over 2 weeks and still pregnant.
I understand wanting to be done, but you're not even full term yet. The longer baby is in, the better. A doctor won't let you go past 42 weeks, so you might have a few weeks or so left. I'm guessing you're not asking your doctor because you're not full term and know they will discourage you from trying to induce. Also, it's strange to tell strangers about your sex life.
My input is that it's PROBABLY unwise to try to evict your unborn baby when you aren't even full term yet. However, I'm not an OB or a midwife. You should ask your OB or midwife and then get back with us and describe the look of utter disbelief on his or her face in response to such a question.
My input: Call your OB, dont ask internet strangers about how to evict your NOT FULL TERM baby!

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
Ummm why would you want to have your baby at 36+2? I had my son at 36+2 and he was in the NICU for a week because he couldn't breathe when he came out.
I was dilated 1cm since at least 29 weeks, and by 35 weeks I was 2cm and 70% effaced. I'm almost 39 weeks now with no change. Is it possible for labor to be quicker? Maybe? But it's different for everyone. My advice would be wait until you're full term to try inducing labor, and speak to your OB about it.

This is my 3rd and I have been 4cm dialated 50% effaced and her head engaged for 2 weeks now. I have tons of painful contractions daily but no baby yet. The body will do what it needs to when it is ready. My last child I was walking 4cm for over a month until he came. Agree with others talk to your OB. It is best to keep them cooking as long as they need to.
And I'll be the one to point out the obvious here, you're a third time mom. That means you've done this twice already? Shouldn't you pretty much know what to expect?

Call your OB.
