  • @anewadventure I'm not offended by your statements and I understand that people have different viewpoints. I feel like the term snowflake is used a lot these days, but it really can go both ways. It's like why does it bother me to not have a welcoming atmosphere, but at the same time why does it bother others so much that someone didn't follow the rules or didn't read them (whatever the case may be)? If there are two sides to a disagreement, both sides can be snowflakes because they are both showing discontent independent of the side they're on. I hope you don't feel that my tone is rude either. We're just having a discussion where we simply don't agree with each other's stance and that's OK.
  • Both sides can exist, but I only see one side trying to dictate how the other side reacts.

and how is this not beating your own version of a dead horse? you want everyone to be nice. i get it. the rest of us are having a nice discussion to explain our viewpoints in more detail. you don't appear to be interested in this discourse.

  • @anewadventure it's not that I want everyone to play nice, because this is life and not everyone agrees. But instead of commenting about how OP didn't introduce herself, started a controversial thread, didn't come back for a few days, blah blah, if you don't like what you see, just don't comment? I dunno. Maybe it's just me. However it's issues like this one (all of us disagreeing and keeping it going) that caused previous implosions of BMBs. And TB Gods going on banning sprees, etc.
Yes, I understand we all have different opinions and reactions, and are entitled to those. There isn't much else to my viewpoint to discuss. Why do we need 6/7 people telling OP that they need to introduce themselves? I think 1, maybe 2 would suffice.

Im not going to drag it out any further than I have. And I do mean that in a polite way. I realize that we aren't all going to agree, and that's fine. Carry on :)

  • @splsmama2016 ... i do feel like i responded to this same sentiment from clovelyone above. it is your opinion that not commenting is the best action. however, if i want to comment, i have a right to do so. i'm not obligated to just move on. similarly, i don't see how this thread continuing is anything but positive. if we don't have a discussion about our viewpoints, that results in the same disagreements over and over again. i mean yeah, at some point, the thread has to end. there are times when beating the dead horse / piling on is actually happening. i just don't agree that we reached that point. if you have 20 people in a row piling on, with no intervening posts or activity with differing opinions, i think we can all recognize that you've reached a closure point.

i think this was mentioned in an earlier discussion that was somewhat similar, in that if we have a standard of only the first person to make a certain comment can express that opinion, then no one else gets to participate. like, oh, so-and-so said something similar to how i feel, so now i shouldn't make a post agreeing or expanding on it. that would be totally lame. i bump at work, so i often get to things "first" or "early" when it happens in the working hours. but if something goes on at night i don't see it til the next day. should people who don't bump during the day be precluded from commenting on something that occurred earlier? should i not be "allowed" to express a similar opinion to something stated the night before? where do you draw the line?

  • @thatlauragirl Darn GD! I hope you get that shake ASAP after delivery. I will say, depending upon how long it takes and your hospital or birthing center policy on being allowed to eat, almost anything tastes amazing after giving birth. With DD, I think it was about 36 hours between eating, and they gave me orange jello, and it was maybe the best thing I've ever eaten. But a shake would have been even better ;)
