CS/Q: How much variation is normal in morning temps? I have been trying to temp at the same time every morning (5:15am), but still have a range of 97.0 - 97.5...is that pretty reasonable, or should temps be more or less the same within, say, 0.2?

I've always wanted to try white water rafting after I saw it in an episode of Home Improvement when I was younger but there aren't a lot of white water rafting places in the middle of the prairies.
R/R: sorry I've been MIA vacation bumping doesn't really happen. But I'm frustrated because MH got sick right before vacation and is still struggling to get healthy so I'm not sure we'll be able to have sex when I get a positive OPK...

@dukestar5 I may not be the best person to give input (wonky sleep, etc), but my temps tend to vary around .5. I think it's fine. I've seen a distinct shift after O and I think that's what counts.

@dukestar5 I so admire you for running. I really want to like it, but just can not. I hit the gym instead and did a spin class. For temps, I would say that is normal, at least I hope that it is, as that is what I have been getting myself. I believe the rise/shift just needs to be 0.2 in order to confirm ovulation. And paddle boarding is amazing! I tried it with my dad on one of my trips to Costa Rica, we didnt choose a great day for it waves wise. But so much fun!
@Dilynne Haha that cracked me up, although I am sorry you didnt get to HIO. MH was iffy last night too. So I told him he was a cranky pants and that it was clearly the pants and he needed to just take them off. That seemed to work. @Steph5454 I hope that YH gets better soon and that you can get to HIO for ovulation. Triathlon would be great. I hope that you get to achieve that some day. ETA comments.....

@mileswithmyles I hear you on DH seeing you in work mode. I'm a pretty laid back person at home and tend to go with the flow. He was at my work once and saw me (well heard me, curtain was closed) running a code. He said he didn't even recognize my voice when I was yelling things out because I was so different. @dukestar5 that range sounds normal to me! People aren't robots, so variations are normal depending on room temp, sleeping position, and where you are in your sleep cycle.

@paleoprincess Eww to finding a needle. Where I live the gun violence is going up a lot, I feel like almost daily there has been a shooting. It is scary. And I also cannot ell the difference that is why I dont really track it. I can usually tell later in the afternoon when I am at least in fertility week, but I cannot rely on CM only.
@nitnat007 on of my friends just signed up for one in Sept. so I went and looked, but she is doing the full which is 10-12 miles plus 20 obstacles. I was like no way, that is so much, I can maybe run 3-5 miles!

There might be a trick...I just dont know it. i even looked under a microscope (because I'm cray) but i guess i would have to know how semen dries down and crystallizes to be able to know if im looking at semen or cm. Since i couldnt do that, my eyes would just see eggwhile looking stuff which could be either
@dukestar5 when I was temping orally I was seeing big shifts like that but I was finding it difficult to see a temp shift so if that becomes the case for you I would recommend temping vaginally.

CS/Q: I think I suck at telling fertile cm from semen. I read that semen dissolves in water but cm doesn't, but I feel like niether do. If anyone has magical tips for differentiating them I'm all ears.
GTKY: finishing a kids book! I've been periodically working an off-grade-level series, but I just can't buckle down and do it.
@cards10 I'm really into home decor and crafting, and as far as I can tell, the secret is ignoring other aspects of your life. "Look how nicely this turned out, sorry I'm still in my robe" has been a frequent refrain in my house this summer.
@mileswithmyles good luck with your orientation today! I bet it will be fun for your DH to see you in work mode, I think a lot of guys find women in charge sexy and don't even realize it. And those temps would annoy me too, here's hoping they chill (not literally, obv.)
@dukestar5 that range sounds normal to me! People aren't robots, so variations are normal depending on room temp, sleeping position, and where you are in your sleep cycle.

@paleoprincess Eww to finding a needle. Where I live the gun violence is going up a lot, I feel like almost daily there has been a shooting. It is scary. And I also cannot ell the difference that is why I dont really track it. I can usually tell later in the afternoon when I am at least in fertility week, but I cannot rely on CM only.
@nitnat007 on of my friends just signed up for one in Sept. so I went and looked, but she is doing the full which is 10-12 miles plus 20 obstacles. I was like no way, that is so much, I can maybe run 3-5 miles!

@ajsanders-2 I think when you are looking at pos OPK's it can be hard to determine which is MOST positive. The best thing to do is to consider yourself pos/peak as long as you are getting pos opk's (so today as peak even though it might have been yesterday) and let your temperatures sort it out afterwards.

R/R I guess since I'm not pregnant, that gives me a chance to lose a couple of more lbs that I desperately need. I've been running for a few weeks and have lost about 3 which I'm stoked about.
Cs/q am I the only one who will put off doing something because I might be pregnant? I find myself saying stuff like I don't want to plan a trip or plan to do this event because I MIGHT be pregnant by then. Then that deadline passes and I feel stupid.
GTKY I would really really love to do a cruise with my husband. We are waiting until we are out of the baby stage to Go. (See above)
