Re: TWT 8/1

  • My coworker just yelled at me and made me cry because I was trying to understand how to do something. She never explains anything right and just yells at me to "just do it". Well I can't do my fucking job right if I don't understand it!!!!

  • Hahahahahahahahaha @Amber_Waves. Scary, but also fucking funny. "What did you dooooo???!!!!"  Husband's are so ridiculous.
My husband has been known to drunkenly put a frozen pizza in the oven and then fall asleep, only to have me be awoken in the same fashion. God, I wanted to kill him, I swear.

We have a new receptionist who is fulfilling all the negative stereotypes my pig of a boss already has about women. Today she called in sick with "cramps and menopause"...yep, she actually said that to him. As someone in charge of hiring and managing our administrative and back office staff, I hear a lot of bitching from him about how women have all these issues men don't have....blah blah blah.  I can't wait to quit this shit hole job. Four more months.....

  • @Amber_Waves @breezybee Hilarious stories (though irritating in the moment)!  And a good reminder that I wanted to upgrade our smoke alarms in the house before baby.  My DH hasn't burned anything up/down, yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time...

  • @ameliabedelia-2 I get what you're saying, but as far cramping, I have stage 4 endometriosis and my cramps can sometimes be so bad that I probably should go to the ER rather than crying in the fetal position as my one and a half 10/325 (highest dose) Norco doesn't take the pain away. It's not always like that, but some days can be completely debilitating. I don't know if she has some type of issue that could cause severe cramps, but this is my experience. However, I will say that I've learned to just say I'm not feeling well and leave it at that when I need a day off work because not everyone understands how truly bad it can be. The disease is also on my sciatic nerve so I also have nerve pain, numbness and tingling in my legs and feet. It's also on my bowels which causes pain, constipation and diarrhea and I've had two surgeries to remove parts of my colon. It's such a relief to not have a period right now and hopefully it will stay away for a while after birth LOL. Unfortunately, I've had to have several surgeries so I ended up telling my job the truth about the disease and I'm really lucky because they're such a family oriented small company and they definitely support me. I may need days off here and there, but they know I work hard and will do whatever they need. It's not as much of an issue since I'm working from home so I can work around the pain most days.
  • @clovelyone I think it was the "and menopause" part that made the story from @ameliabedelia-2 seem less believable, but frankly I know nothing about going through menopause, so I guess maybe you could cramp while going through that too? I'm glad your company's been so supportive of your endometriosis, that sounds extremely painful and challenging.
  • @leilagphillips @clovelyone, oh I have no doubt there are huge amounts of women who suffer this type of thing. I would have preferred a simple "I am not feeling well today"....rather than all the detail she provided after she called in. It's also her first week, so there's that.

  • WORK IS THE TW. I didn't think I'd have a TW today because I'm on a high from my anatomy scan, but damn it staring at this complex report is giving me a headache and I want it to be 5:30 so I can meet DH and go buy our first girly outfit and celebrate with dinner! UGH. 40 more minutes...

  • Did it go well @MJDsquared?  Yay!
  • @breezybee Yes! Everything was good! They couldn't get one picture they needed for the front of her brain/her palate because she was face-planted and wouldn't move, so I go back 8/17. I'm kind of happy to have to go back because otherwise I wouldn't have any other ultrasounds (unless there was a problem, which I obviously would not hope for!).

  • Yeah, in your case (with one baby), I'd be happy to have to go back for some extra pictures as long as I knew there wasn't anything wrong :)
    Congrats!
  • @ameliabedelia-2 Wow, yeah...the first week  :/ and I totally glossed over the menopause comment.

@breezybee Why didn't they just say no? They were definitely trying to be assholes.
  • My husband is my TW. I've been up since 6:30am, non stop at work, grocery store again (bc pregnancy brain sucks), gymnastics, then come home and clean up the mess in the kitchen and make dinner. He was making his plate and looked at me and asked if I was tired. DUH IM FREAKING TIRED! I've been going for 14 hours straight, all while having the life sucked out of me by the twins. I wish I could just trade him some days.. here you grow babies.
  • Definitely trying to be assholes @clovelyone TOTAL ASSHOLES.

I had a roommate who did this ALL the time! Once she was boiling Mac and it evaporated all the water and burned to a crisp.

So I have a hard time posting these, because generally I have too many to choose from. This week though, this one has really had me in a bad mood for a few days. I have been collecting addresses for baby shower invites a month or so down the road to go out. I sent one of my friends a request for her address. Now note, DH and I were close to her and her long time live in boyfriend. This couple even went to Las Vegas with us for our wedding (we didn't even invite family).... Well, she has completely ignored my message and not sent me her address. I can tell that she read the message, and this is the kind of girl has her phone glued to her hand!!! She has been really sketchy lately about ignoring us for things such as going out. So this just topped it off for me!!

    Edited because I CANT SPELL!!

  • @Mandayno this seems to be the story of my life, especially around my wedding. So much flakiness.

I also know that I mentally reply to texts or fb messages without actually typing anything, so maybe reach out again to follow up? Also try just following up in general, maybe she has something huge going on in her personal life. I went off on my bridesmaid (I only had 1 MOH and 1 bridesmaid) for missing a wedding event, and turns out she was heading to visit her dying grandma and just so overwhelmed she forgot to give me a heads up. It's frustrating, but hopefully not intentional!
  • @KathrynJ088 you are right and I will. It just makes it hard when it's par for the course with her and her SO. We feel slighted each time and believe it to be intentional by them. It's been going on for two years, and we still love them and just can't seem to cut the cord with them haha!
