Anyone else have an empty sac? TW - Update

So I had some bleeding yesterday and I called the OBGYN (I am O- blood type and my H is O+ so any bleeding I need to get a RhoGAM shot). They had me come in. Based on my period I would have been 7w2d but I did not ovulate until late so I am guessing I am more like 6 weeks 1 day at the very most. They did an US and it showed a sac that is more like 5 weeks in size and nothing really distinguishable inside. I am feeling like this means a miscarriage but the bleeding has basically stopped and part of me is feeling a bit optimistic. I know it is a slim shot but I am hoping for something to show up on the 31st when I have a follow up appointment. Anyone else have this? Also my doc did not do any blood tests for levels as he said that just adds to the stress which I think stresses me out more!

UPDATE: So I went in today for my follow up US. The sac is no longer there so it was a confirmed miscarriage. I have some remaining blood in there but I have not been bleeding for 5 days now. I decided to try and proceed naturally and not get the D & C yet. It was great being here with all you ladies and I wish I could stay. Wishing you all healthy and happy pregnancies!!!

@jlo629 I'm really sorry you're going through this. The best you can do at this point is to try to stay positive and to take your mind off of things as much as possible. It's summer so that means that there should be lots of available activities. Do some looking to see if your town/area offers things like concerts in the park, outdoor movies, minor league baseball games, etc. Try to fill your calendar for the next little bit. You'll be in my prayers.

I also have O- blood type so I have to get the shot also. I had bleeding with my first and went in on Monday for bleeding with this one and got the shot. (They did an U/S and everything was fine). I'm really praying for you to get through until the 31st and that everything will be perfect

If you weren't tracking ovulation closely, you definitely could have ovulated a week or two late, especially if you didn't get a BFP until a couple of weeks ago. FX for you that everything looks great at your next appointment!

I am sorry to hear about this. I have commented on several posts about my experience with my now two year old. To make a long story short, it's very early and he had an empty sac at 5w5d. A week later he was measuring on time. I hope this is your case.

TW: This is happened to me. I went in for my first prenatal appointment thinking I was just over 7 weeks, but my OB felt I was measuring small and I was sent for an U/S the same day. They found an empty sac that was measuring more like 5 weeks, 3 days. The staff remained optimistic as I had not had any bleeding and said it was impossible to tell if I was measuring far behind or if my dates were off. They said the only way to tell for sure was for me to come back in one week for a repeat measurement to detect growth. Unfortunately, I did end up miscarrying naturally the very next day.

I have a similar story inside if you want to read. TW: loss mentioned. I am rooting so hard for you and will be praying for a positive update when you go back! Have you had your blood checked at all? I get what you doctor is saying about the added stress of repeat testing but did they check you at least once to get a baseline?

This sounds really similar to what happened to me last week. I went in for my dating US when I thought I was about 6 weeks based on my tracking, but when they did the US, they said I looked like I was closer to 4.5-5 weeks, and they wouldn't even officially date me based on that. All we saw was an empty sac, and they scheduled me to come back in 3 weeks for a follow up US. I didn't have any bleeding other than minor spotting when I first got my BFP, but seeing nothing on the US worried me nonetheless.

The doctor didn't seem concerned though, and just seemed to say I must be not as far along as I thought. I asked if I should get blood work done while we wait for the next US, but she said no that it wasn't necessary unless they had an indication that something was wrong.

Now I'm just waiting another two weeks for the next US, and hoping that everything is progressing as it should be. Hopefully we will both get good news at our next scans!

Thanks ladies! I have had no blood drawn as my doc does not normally do that. I have had some major nausea today do that has me confused as I have had none really this pregnancy. I am basically telling myself it is a loss because I am still bleeding. (Not a ton but every time I pee the water is a bit pink and the tp has a good amount of blood on it.) Worst part is between now and the US I have my brother visiting and staying at my house, a bday party 2.5 hours away on Saturday, a huge party with all my relatives coming to town on Sunday for my Grandma's 95th bday, and then next weekend is my DD's 2nd bday party. I will be busy so I hope that helps the time pass!

If you weren't charting you might not be aware of when you actually ovulated. Many T&P that you just O'd late and you have a better u/s.

Thanks everyone. I was tracking my ovulation with tests and I ovulated on the 18th and based on my period my doctor has me conceiving on the 10th so I know I would be behind what he has. I have still not stopped bleeding so it is hard to stay positive but it has lessened and the clots have basically stopped. 5 days until my appointment seems like forever!!!
