20 weeks! Half way!

Had my anatomy scan on Friday! So fun to take a peek at baby, results two weeks or so from now.
4. Have you announced (pics?)?
Yes, but I'm now at the point where my bumb has become an announcement to strangers on the street.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children?
Lucky to say my parents. They've always shown each other such deep love through everything.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby?
Just a few sleepers and clothing items. Oh and a house!

Taking a hypno-birthing class and some online birth classes. No parenting stuff yet!

I've got my 18 week anatomy scan this wednesdaaaaaaay!

We did announce. My birthday was in the middle of July, and everyone kept posting things like "happy birthday momma to be, congrats on the twins," etc, so I decided to just do it. I was really annoyed that people didn't think to STFU when I hadn't posted anything on social media. Duh, guys.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children?
My boss and her husband. I'm a nanny for their 4 boys, and have been for 9 years. They are so fun and love each other so much, and they are a really great family to be around. I hope my kids are half as cool as hers are, and I hope my husband and I have as good of a relationship as they do 25 years in.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby?
I haven't. Other people have. I've been getting quite a few matching outfits. My mom got them a full set of SF Giants gear - outfits, hats, pacifiers, and socks. So cute. Im holding off on buying stuff, because we're moving into our new house sept 30, and I don't want to have to move a bunch of extra stuff. It's annoying. Hopefully, these guys cooperate and stay in here until we get settled. With mo/di twins, they could come pretty early. Hopefully they WONT!
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading?
I'm going to start Mothering Multiples and Bringing Up Bebe next week. I've got to get moving on this stuff!
@breezybee Wow, I can't believe people announced for you on social media. That's so unacceptable. Also, I am literally dreading moving my stuff to my SO's house, plus we need to fix a few things at my house before we try to sell it.

I have a repeat anatomy scan on Aug 10th since the babies didn't want to cooperate with the technician. Hopefully, they will be able to get all necessary measurements this time.

Yes, we announced at week 15 or 16.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children?
Not really, but I have an idea in mind of what I would like for our relationship and how I want our children to perceive us. SO has the same ideas so I'm glad we're on the same page.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby?
A few onesies, but nothing major. I'm starting to look though.
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading?
Not yet, but I have a list of books mentioned here that I'd like to read.

We announced around 13 weeks. It's just a picture of us and I'm wearing a "preggers" shirt and he's wearing a "baby daddy" shirt.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children?
Totally stealing barrbaby's answer and saying my parents. (Not my biological father, but my stepdad-who-was-my-dad, who passed away.) They didn't actually have any kids together, but they raised a blended family well and they were happy together for 25ish years.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby?
A few clothing items here and there. We just bought this adorable hoodie at Goodwill today! Definitely meant for a boy, but we'd totally put it on a girl.
My OB gifts all her patients a pregnancy book and I have What to Expect. I was super into WTE when we first found out but now I'm slacking on both books. I just prefer reading 'pleasure books' when I do read, and also I feel like I get so much info here and on Ovia that most stuff in the books is redundant!

Finally going for our anatomy scan this Friday! Couldn't get in any earlier and I'm feeling so impatient!

Yep we did that about a month ago.

Is it super cynical if I say no? Not like a hard no, just like...not really especially any one couple.

Aside from the few things I used to announce to H that it was a boy we haven't purchased anything yet. Waiting until we move into our house (which, as has been said, I guess we did buy for the baby).

Right now I'm reading Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and perusing What to Expect.

1. How far along are you? Whats your due date? 20 weeks! Which has resulted in me singing this song in my head all weekend
2. Whats the size of your baby? Um, a banana or a paper airplane
3. Any new ultrasound or appointments? Next appointment is on Friday. I'll go see the MFM for the anatomy scan and then immediately after to my regular OB for my regular 20-week appointment. Provided the MFM doesn't find anything concerning, I officially graduate from her! Which obviously makes me very happy to graduate, but also makes me a little sad because my MFM is THE BEST.
4. Have you announced (pics?)? Yes and no. I've told most people outside of work and my boss. At this point, I'm waiting for the 20-week scan to tell the rest of work. Provided everything goes well on Friday, I'll tell them on Friday afternoon. And I'll probably then post someone on social media during the weekend.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children? Interesting question! I think my parents did a good job, so they serve as good role models.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby? I think the only thing I've purchased is the pack n play. But we've been kind enough to be gifted a bunch of stuff and received some hand me downs. I've got nearly 2 big Tupperware bins full of stuff!
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading? I read Girlfriends Guide to pregnancy before I started trying and the Mayo Clinic book when I was pregnant before. I wanted to have a good idea as to what I was getting myself into (and I was afraid I'd get busy, fall behind on reading and then miss some important information). I've read up to week 20 on WTE, although I'm not great at keeping up with it. I also just bought Bringing Up Bebe on audiobook, which I'm listening to as I drive around.

1. How far along are you? Whats your due date? 19 wks, Festivus but odds are closer to the 19th.
2. Whats the size of your baby? Game-boy.
3. Any new ultrasound or appointments? I had one this morning, a recap from the US that was last Tuesday. Doctor said everything looks good physically, however baby is on the small side in the 10th percentile. We have to go back mid-September for a repeat U/S.
4. Have you announced (pics?)? Facebook official as of last Tuesday night.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children? Probably my Aunt and Uncle, I'm sure they have their disagreements but it seems like they are always like they have it together. They have 3 kids who also have their shit together.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby? Nothing fun, but Amazon had a tub for $10, and diapers.
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading? Last time I read WTEWYE and eh, nothing jaw dropping, from what I remember a lot of that book was common sense.

6. Have you purchased anything for baby? Just one onesie for father's day. I had purchased a lillebaby carrier but returned it because it was too bulky for me.
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading? I feel like I've read at least 5 in the past couple of weeks between traveling and going away for the weekend lol. I've finished Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and Bringing Up Bebe (I liked them both!) Currently I'm reading The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, Baby 411 and The Happiest Kids in the World.

We had our 20 week anatomy scan Monday last week, and everything looked great.

Just posted some candid shots of DW and I in our yard grinning, and me with the bump yesterday evening.

My parents have done a really good job of this, I think.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby?
We bought a breast pump last year before DW was going to lose money from her HSA. We are Jewish and not planning on buying a ton beforehand, but some people have given us little gifts. We've also gotten great hand-me-downs- tons of maternity cloths, an Ergo organic baby wearing thingie, baby blankets, and some gorgeous hand knit or crocheted things from friends.
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading?
Ina May's Guide to Natural childbirth- and I LOVE reading the birth stories especially.

Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children? yes, a previous coworker who has a fabulous life-her 2 boys are so adorable and her and her husband have the cutest relationship. i am in awe over all the great things they do together. in general i am just really proud to know them!

@breezybee-good luck on wednesday! and ugh, i know what you mean about the social media thing. my MIL shared a post on her page and in the status she tagged me. it was about post-baby chickfila food (which i looked on snopes and it is fake!). i know she meant well but STOP. we told family no social media stuff about this baby.

@breezybee That's so rude! Before we made our announcement, I made a point to tell anyone we told not to say anything about it on social media, but really people shouldn't have to be told that!
@MJDSquared That hoodie is adorable and totally can be worn by either gender!
@moonlady-2 I didn't realize we have the same due date (or I did and forgot haha). Since I'm having twins they're probably going to come earlier than that, but still nice to know!

3. Any new ultrasound or appointments? Had my anatomy scan last week, which went great! Have an appointment with my OB on Aug 11, then another ultrasound with the MFM on Aug 21, so just glad I'll get to hear/see them a couple of times this month!
4. Have you announced (pics?)? Yes, I announced via fb at around 13 weeks with a little Hanukkah themed video. And I'd already told a number of people at that point too.
5. Are there any couples that you look at with admiration and wonder how the balance their relationship with each other and that with their children? I'm going to jump on the "my parents" bandwagon as well, though I think I have a pretty clear idea of how their relationship's worked over the years. I also think it's worth mentioning here that I'm trying to more consciously resist the urge to compare my relationship (and future parenting skills) with those of the "picture perfect" couples we see on social media. As time's gone on, I've seen more and more that you never really know what's going on behind the scenes and the couples that seem to be most figured out often end up having plenty of their own struggles that they're dealing with.
6. Have you purchased anything for baby? I bought a onesie (and the accompanying set) to tell my husband I was pregnant (back when I thought there was just one, ha!). He also bought a couple of matching UConn onsies and we've received some other clothes as gifts. No big purchases yet though.
7. Any baby or parenting related books you are reading? I'm slowly working my way through "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads" and I plan to read "Bringing Up Bebe" next.
