As we know, labor is so emotional and takes a lot of will and practice for game day.
Let's support each other.
Are you debating a home birth or set on it?
Previous home birth success or first time?
Why are you potentially going the home birth route?
What support do you need?
Re: Calling all home birthers!
This will be my first home birth.
I had a fine hospital experience, but the hospital setting just wasn't for me and just didn't jive with me.
I need to hear your personal experiences. I need to hear what you wish you knew or would have done differently.
Best of luck in this adventure! It can be a great thing
I had a hospital vbac my last pregnancy, and it was absolutely amazing, BUT I needed a lot of support to get me through it, from the nurses, the doctors, my husband, and I also had a doula. They monitored me and the baby every step of the way through what was a very long and difficult journey, and in the end I got through it with no interventions. I can't imagine doing it without that kind of support!
Not digging my hospital, but I needed way more support than I got. I got zero breathing help and multiple requests for interventions, which stole a piece of my strength every time they asked.
My midwife specializes in home vbacs. One of her patients did a home vbac after 4 csections (shocked shocked face)!! I read that and felt so empowered.
I think you're right about having a team in place. I plan on finding a doula, prepping my husband (or telling him to go in the other room, whatever works lol) and practising mindfulness techniques.
Yikes! Sorry for writing so much! I'm done!
