Re: Weekly Questions 7/16-7/22

  • My nausea and vomiting kicked in right on schedule over the weekend, and it already feels way worse than my last pregnancy! I have been doing the unisom/b6 combo but haven't had much relief... has anyone who has been put on prescription meds for their nausea had a hard time getting something prescribed by their OB? I'm not sure if I qualify since I am *only* throwing up 1-2 times a day, but the nausea is non-stop.

@garnetmama, my OB was very quick to prescribe for me when I mentioned I was throwing up every day (4x). I was really resistant to taking meds but she was like "you're puking every day. You don't have to puke every day. Take the pills"

ETA: I still puked every day. But the meds took the edge off the nausea and I started throwing up only 1-2x per day.
  • So I'm a belly sleeper. When do I need to start sleeping on my left side?
  • @bb3vj3n My prenatals are giving me trouble too so I temporarily switched to a liquid one I used to use earlier in my TTC journey. It doesn't have the best taste but it isn't too bad and goes down easier than the pills. I got it on Amazon-- called Pink Stork. I hope you feel better!
  • @antoto I sleep on my belly until it gets too uncomfortable and then use a body pillow to kind of simulate the same feeling as long as I can. I don't even care if I boobs hurt, I am sleeping on my belly because I distinctly recall how hard it was to sleep when I couldn't anymore.
  • Still sleeping on my stomach over here, though I have noticed the last week that when I wake up my pelvic area feels really tight. Could be from the growth, could be time to sleep on my side? Not sure.
  • @crossfitbabybump I don't want to alarm you, but dogs show aggression for many reasons. Sometimes it could be a health concern. Especially, if she wasn't aggressive before. Seven is old for a dog, it wouldn't hurt to get her checked out. Also, I fully believe dogs can tell when you're pregnant. When she nips at your other dogs, are you sitting next to her? Or in the same room? She might feel like she needs to protect you.

no alarm, no worries! she has an upcoming appointment to get groomed and a few of her shots updated, I will see what the vet says about it!

She is in the same room as me, fairly close. I totally agree that dogs can sense pregnancy. My other boxer/pit mix, she'll lay by me and sniff my belly. It's the cutest thing!

  • @staciefacie and when I say we've been through a lot together, I mean I rescued her from a puppy mill when she was 4 months old. Found out she had to have all of her reproductive organs, her left kidney and some of her intestines removed due to congenital inbreeding. So I know she may not have long, the vets said she may not even make it to 3-4 years old yet here she is 7. I have that checked on when we go to the vets to make sure everything is still functioning at its best. Poor thing :(
  • Good luck @DDRRT1982

is anyone else having trouble with their prenatal vitamin? mine makes me instantly nauseous.  I've tried taking it with food, without, before bed and in the morning. nothing seems to help.

it doesn't help that it is the size of a horse pill.
I take the GNC prenatal without iron. I take two at bedtime and I think it helps avoid the nausea.

My dr prescribed me diceglis with my last pregnancy and it was a life saver. I didn't throw up too often but I always felt so sick.
