Had an appointment at 10am this morning for an ultrasound and gender determination blood test. It wasn't until the ultrasound started that the text told me there was a "scheduling error" and phlebotomist wouldn't be in until 11. So, now both my husband and I are just sitting in the waiting room and will be late to work. A phone call this morning would've been nice.
***Possible TW***WTF abortion protesters. The doctor who backs up my midwife, as part of a full slate of well woman care, pregnancy care, breech deliveries, etc. also offers abortion. So I had to get yelled at by 5 middle aged white men today on the way to my follow up ultrasound. I'm not trying to make this political, but I don't care where you are on the spectrum of opinion if you're yelling horrible things at ANY woman you're the worst kind of person.

My WTF goes to my Motorola baby monitor. We have not even been using it 17 months and the main device is completely and utterly worthless. Won't charge, can't hold a charge, worthless. What a waste of $150...
And now we're in the market for another freaking system with LO #2 on the way.
@KatieEl That is ridiculous. I grew up in a very pro-life household and heard all about those protests and I always found them repulsive. There are better ways to put your message out there than by publicly berating women.
@schaze it went well, no placenta previa, they think it's just subchrionic bleeding which should hopefully resolve itself by 20 weeks. I'll post full update in the Symptoms Thread in a bit, but that's the gist.

@Shanski70, we had problems with Motorola as well. We've been through several monitors over the years and they were, by far, the worst.
@KatieEl, my BFF has been through the same; her MW office is in the same location as a dr who provides abortions. When not pregnant she volunteers to walk women through the picket line. No woman makes the decision to have an abortion lightly and no woman should have to deal with that nonsense.
@KatieEl Seriously, terrible. I had to have my last D&C done at an abortion clinic here in Texas (because my last doctor was terrible) and got yelled at on the way in. Made my already very traumatic day a million times worse.

Wtf is the lady who did the ultrasound for the first trimester screen she was like overlu aggressive with my stomach and apparently the LO didnt like it either bc it decided to keep moving so she had to fight to see everything
@Shanski70 that sucks. When we got the monitor for DD I did do a bunch of research and found many reviews saying the same thing. We got a Infant Optics off amazon and love it.
@KatieEl ugh that sucks. I'm not sure how I would have reacted. Glad your US went well though.
Ugh yeah our Motorola monitor is almost 3 years old now and doesn't hold a charge for much more than the 5 minutes that the screen stays on, before it starts that awful beeping. I was thinking it's battery damage from being plugged in all the time (they say not to do it with phones anyway) but maybe it's just these monitors.
@KatieEl my husband is adopted and therefore extremely pro life, but I think even in that situation he would have come unglued. Like...to the point I would love to actually see his reaction to something like that, I'm sure he would end up getting us kicked off the property. That is just insane to me, so sorry you had to deal with that.
WTF to the roofers who were supposed to show up at 9-10 this morning to finish the last little bit they couldn't get to yesterday. Almost 2pm and they have yet to show up.
WTF I'm so over seeing a different OB because mine is on vacation. The nurses with my temp OB just are not very nice and I'm not a fan of the OB either, I've never had to fully undress with my regular doc but this OB has you strip down to nothing. I don't think the doc is a creep, I just don't like it. I'm still having transvaginal US so why do my chesticles need to be free too?
A co-worker said I'm starting to show...I didn't think I was yet but I didn't exactly start with 6 pack abs. Thanks for staring at my 14 week gut! It was hard not to say "what's your excuse." Maternity leave should begin when you get a positive pregnancy test
My WTFW goes to the MFM place I'm trying to do my AS. So I'm trying to make the appointment for Thursday, August 31 because my MIL will be visiting from SC and I'd like to allow her to share the experience with us. Well, because I won't be 20 weeks until the next day they are saying they can't do it. WTF. It's one day. I hastily hung up with them and decided to look for another place. They called me back 5 days later and said I could do it 1 day earlier. Gee thanks.
@katieel and @aimsforyou2014 I am raging upset about your experiences. @katieel I am so glad the appt went well, but what if it hadn't and you had to walk back out through those complete asshats? And @aimsforyou2014 I can completely imagine being in your shoes and already feeling beyond miserable. Those people should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
I could rant on this one for literally hours. Maybe they should use all of that energy to develop better solutions for individuals and systems instead of intimidating and harassing people. UGH.
My WTFW goes out to a department I have to work with. I'm just fed up with how they handle situations - everything is always an emergency that needs to be dealt with "right now", and they constantly use scapegoats if things don't go their way. Right now is especially frustrating because they are upset a situation, that is completely out of my control, and putting pressure on me to get it fixed "right now". But they do this all the time. I really dislike working with them...
WTFW because my office is replacing the carpets in my section this weekend, so we have to pack up everything from our desks. The crates the flooring company provides are about half an inch too narrow to hold legal size folders. And there is a ton of crap at my desk left by the previous 2 people in this position. And eight years of quarterly reports for some stupid reason. Andplusalso they are starting the work on Friday so we can't be there so we have to rush this quarter's reports and get them done tomorrow.
@Shanski70- DS is 18 months old and we had the same problem w the Motorola. My husband took off the back panel and there is a replaceable battery. We got ours off Amazon and it is back to holding a charge for 3 hours or so
@Shanski70 We had an Avent for DS that worked very well, no issues at all. The only reason we're not using it for this one is that it's back in Germany - and we're not. I don't trust the mail anymore to get it shipped here. Bad experience..
I don't have a WTF Wednesday but I DO have a Motorola monitor and I'm reading all your comments. Mine hasn't broken YET but it sounds like it will soon, my DD is 18 months this weekend.
This one is a day late but WTF to Destination Maternity. I ordered a tank and 2 bras on sale a couple of weeks ago. I got notice that the bras were back ordered which is fine because I don't need them immediately but when I went to check the status today, I found out they had completely cancelled the order for the bras which would ordinarily be obnoxious but fine except for the fact that they decided not to notify me that they cancelled it.

@Shanski70 I don’t even remember what brand we have (either Samsung or Motorola) but we are in the same boat. I want to research a lot more this time.
@KatieEl The WORST. I can’t believe you have to deal with that.
