For some reason, H likes to use the washing machine as his own personal laundry hamper. This is the same guy who had gotten pissy with me for being in the middle of actively using the washing machine when he gets home from a trip.

And, while I'm on the topic of annoying H habits that I've had to deal with today when he's not even home, he loves to stuff big things like hotel laundry bags and aluminum cans in the bathroom garbage. Immediately filling it to where I can't even use it for things like Bandaid wrappers. Yes, I've had a calm, rational conversation about that one with him. It seemed like he understood why that's an annoying thing to do.

  • Hi Mommies!

Since the beginning of my pregnancy(I'm 7 weeks and 2 days now) I have been constantly stressed.  I juggle a lot...work: my 9-5 IT job, second, I freelance(work in different dept store at a variety of locations) for a makeup company on the weekends, I also have my personal clients usually 3-5 a weekend. I am also taking care of my mom, siblings and nephew...unfortunately my brother is bipolar and lost his job and fell off so I have been taking care of his son (who I adore and has been the only person not to piss me off) When I say take care I mean I deal with all of their problems!!!! From buying them food, clothes for work/interviews, helping my younger one with his college work, giving them money to get their cars fixed...anytime they have a problem I am their lifeline! My boyfriend tells me to not do so much and stress myself out and how I shouldn't be everyone's taxi etc. but I love my family and I want to help them grow and prosper. I do these things because I hate to see my brothers in such a bad place(we were pretty much poor our all lives, I have had a job since I was 14 while maintaining a 4.0 GPA while simultaneously earning college credits. I went on to get my college degree and got a decent paying salary job.) I have always had to make everything possible by MYSELF, no one has ever did anything for me. So now I just want a minute to myself and it seems impossible. I have been so nauseous lately and very dizzy and my hormones have turned me into a completely B word. I'm so mean and shady at times I feel so guilty afterwards. I took a leave from the freelance job so I could have more free time, my work load was too heavy. I'm working on more solutions so I won't be so stressed. The bright side is the fact that my boyfriend has been amazing, he's been doing everything I ask and has been so generous with helping me with whatever I need.

  • @scoogy19 ugh I know exactly how you feel! Nothing ever sounds good but I'm starving! It's so annoying when my fridge full of food sounds terrible but a bagel from Einstein's 15 min away sounds amazing.

@kiki75 my h does the same thing !! with bathroom garbage once I found a banna peel in there and had to tell him you can't put food garbage in there lol!!  Why he was eating a banana in the bathroom is beyond me
  • @kiki75 thank you for that! I definetly needed to hear it.
  • @arhodes6 Einstein Brothers... mmm. Now I want a bagel from there.
  • I have a crazy addiction to bagels. It's taking all my might not to scarf down some bagels with cream cheese. I hate you all right now.
  • Whoops! Sorry I triggered a bunch of cravings for you all!
  • Oh yeah. I know I CAN have it. But my bathroom scale says I shouldn't haha!
  • @justkeeptrying Ignore that bathroom scale and ANYONE who tells you to pay attention to it!

Side note: I love bagels, but I hate that I smell like bagels after walking into a bagel shop. No bagel hair for me, especially now!
  • About a week and a half ago we had my daughters 9 month wellness check up and the pediatrician acted like I had failed as a mother because my daughter wasn't saying mama or dada yet. The nurse didn't seem concerned, nor the nurse in training, NOR the doctor in training that was present. She's just barely hit 10 months old for goodness sakes. Over the last three days she's gone from only saying "ah" to now "bah" constantly. I've gotten a few ma's out of her and anytime she sees one of our dogs, she goes "puh" like she's trying to say puppy.

I get that the pediatrician just wants to catch any possibly issues early, but over the course of three days, my daughter has figured out SO MUCH. She just wasn't ready before, and I'm a little PO'd that the doctor made me feel like a failure for no reason.
  • My son is 12 months today and still doesn't say any words that actually associate with things. Lots of babble, but nothing that makes sense. No worries!!
  • Me nor my three brothers started talking until a year, so I wasn't concerned until she jumped on me about it.

I wouldn't worry too much at this point. If she seems well in all of the other ways (connecting with people, making eye contact, hitting the majority of other milestones, etc.) I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Kids do things at different times and a lot of times if things are working well for them as is, they'll delay making a change. My younger sister walked on her knees (kneel and then shuffle forward) because it was working for her and actual walking just slowed her down. I've also heard that it's not uncommon for kids who do baby sign language to start talking later because they're already communicating effectively and getting their needs met. And, another kid I know was getting to an age where the whole family was kind of starting to get a little worried. Turns out she just didn't feel like jabbering away in baby talk. One day they were driving by a spray park and this kid who had barely spoken before just busts out, clear as day, "water park."

  • @ShawnnaO Seriousky, I want to punch everyone who makes us feel like garbage for things like that! I had a terrible and judgemental pedi for 7 months who constantly went to the "bad mother" side of things. Once we left, I couldn't believe the difference I felt in my overall life.

Not saying yours is bad, just saying I get it and I'm sorry that was even brought into your realm!
