Re: Wednesday Ticker Change 7/12

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
5w0d - the size of an apple seed (or black peppercorn, or BB pellet - depending on what app I'm using) lol

    2) How are you feeling?
I'm feeling good overall.  I'm still experiencing fatigue and breast tenderness.  I have a heightened sense of smell (which at times causes waves of nausea).

    3) Any appointments this week/last?
None yet...my first appointment is still 2 weeks away.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
When would be a good time to tell my employer that I'm expecting?  I feel like I don't want to announce it at all, but at the same time, I'm going to need a little time off for upcoming appointments, etc.

    5) GTKY: What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show?
Ummmm.... right now it's the Bachelorette.  I normally HATE watching reality TV and it's been years since I've seen any of the Bachelor/Bachelorettes, but I'm watching this season faithfully. :)

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    7 weeks, blueberry

    2) How are you feeling?
Excited to be past all of my loss milestones and feeling more secure in this pregnancy. Physically, nauseated and exhausted constantly.

    3) Any appointments this week/last?
I had my first ultrasound last Wednesday and measured around 5w6d/6w with a fetal heart rate of 111.
I have another ultrasound next Wednesday as well

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
What made you choose your OB practice? I'm thinking about switching because I didn't have the best delivery experience with my son and I really hate my OB's main nurse who I have to call with any questions and see at every appointment. I'm nervous to switch and not like the new doctor either, but I feel like if I'm going to find a new doctor I should do so sooner rather than later.

    Married at First Sight.

@ladybugsamom I plan on telling my boss after my second ultrasound next week. I'll be a little over 8 weeks. I want to make sure I get everything straight with HR about my maternity leave options well in advance, and I will be telling most of my friends and family after that appt. and don't want it to get back to my coworkers before I tell my boss.

  • @hullabalou I'm interested to see if others answer your question. I have mixed feelings about my OB.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 5 weeks, appleseed

    2) How are you feeling? I'm not doing too bad at all. Cramping, sharp boob pains, tired. No nausea (yet).

    3) Any appointments this week/last? 7 week u/s with the RE 2 weeks from today to see about heartbeat(s) and multiples.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Just counting down the days to my appointment!

    5) GTKY: What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show? Been watching The 100... it's all kinds of terrible. I can't watch it every day.
  • @hullabalou I decided to go with a new OB for this pregnancy.  It was a really tough decision as I'd been a patient there for over 15 years.  The reason I left the old practice was because they have grown so much and become massive with multiple locations and a dozen doctors.  They literally shuffle you in and out without any personal care or concern.  It feels like you're just a number to them.  Plus, because the doctors are so busy, you don't get to see your OB at each visit...sometimes you have to see the nurse for your check-up.  There's a good chance your regular doctor won't be the one to deliver you - it's whoever is on call at the time (unless it's a scheduled c-section).

The new OB office I chose is in the same area, and the doctors deliver at the same hospital.  There are only 2 doctors, and there's a much more close-knit, family feel which I love.  I found the doctor by researching providers through my insurance's website.  She comes highly rated and highly recommended.  When I met with her I got a really warm, welcoming and supportive vibe from her.

I agree that you should decide to switch sooner than later.  Please don't stay somewhere you hate.  Good luck with your search... keep us posted!

7 weeks, baby is a blueberry.

    2) How are you feeling?
Nauseous and exhausted. Was not nearly this bad this early last time...

    3) Any appointments this week/last?
    Nope, nothing until August

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
DS is crawling faster and faster, and chasing after him is getting to be difficult every day. He just gets into everything and I'm too tired to keep him out of everything and I can only baby proof so much.

    5) GTKY: What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show?
Right now, DH and I are watching Burn Notice on Netflix. I just finished watching Bones, and am now waiting for the next season to get added!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: when my mother keeps mentioning my weight  :( I'm 20lbs heavier than when I got pregnant with DS. If I have the audacity to say something back, I'm being a biotch so I give up.

  • 1. I am 5wks exactly today- appleseed/ bb pellet/ peppercorn

    2. Feeling pretty darn good.  My boobs get pretty sore (particularly at night) by aside from this and some pretty serious irritability, my energy levels are high!

    3. My first appointment isn't until almost 8 wks... nothing to report yet.

    4. My BMI is higher than I would like and this is the highest it has ever been. I'm overweight. I want to have a healthy pregnancy and not put on much weight... ts it possible to slowly and safely loso some weight during this pregnancy through healthy eating and non strenuous exercise?

    5. guilty TV show is for sure Greys Anatomy.  I swore I was DONE after they killed Derek...but I just can't stop!
  • @bb3vj3n I'm not technically "overweight" but I weigh more than I ever have and not thrilled, and trying to lose a tad too. It's not going that well so far lol. The fatigue is making it tough to do even low impact cardio. I eat super healthy, tons of veggies, but scale's not budging... judging by my bloat, I feel like I'm 4 months pregnant at least.
  • Girl I'm right there with you on the BMI. I've lost a few lbs, I'm consciously eating better and drinking tons of water all within the 1800 calorie a day requirement I've been going by which is 300 more than what I was pre-pregnancy. I gained 70lbs last pregnancy, I'm 25 lbs heavier starting out this time so I'm really trying to do better this time. If you'd like an accountability partner, I'm game! Also... I'm a die hard GA fan since day one of the pilot  <3

  • Just an update on the OB situation-I got a ton of reviews over the past week or so from a local mom group and I'm calling to schedule an apt with a new OB now. I will keep my 8 week ultrasound with my current OB then switch for my 12 week appointment.

  • Happy Wednesday, ladies!

My toddler has been a freaking nightmare today. I don't know what's wrong.

    5) GTKY: What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show?
Not really a "guilty" pleasure, but I've been watching a lot of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? I'm 6 weeks+3 and baby is as big as a sweet pea.

    2) How are you feeling? Completely exhausted and nauseous.

    3) Any appointments this week/last? None until next week, Wednesday.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm just tired of the constant headache and insomnia that I'm having. Does anyone else have insomnia?

    5) GTKY: What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show? I hate to admit that I still watch it, but.. Greys Anatomy! Lol.

    Baby #3 due March 2018

  • for sure! let's do this!
  • Yesss! Also..  I now have a rant. People who aren't pregnant telling me they don't believe pregnancy brain or raging hormones make you crazy. This pregnancy is way different and I cant definitely tell a difference. I do well to function with the 6 days per week I travel for my job, take care of my home and family. I barely remember to get on here and checkin with uou gals and Lord help me if I remember the laundry I put in the dryer and actually turn on. Hellacious horomones.. tell me I'm not the only one!
