I don't get the fascination with Beyoncé or her twins, or marriage. However, I keep up with Teen Mom OG and 2 pretty regularly.
Also, i watch a lot of heavy stuff (Snapped, law and order svu, criminal minds, crime documentaries etc) but recently I've been wanting something lighter. So I watched Moana. I looooooooved it. The music, story, everything. So then of course Lilo and Stitch shows up on my Netflix feed the other day and I watched it. And cried. Like ugly cried. It's got cute and funny scenes to it, but that storyline is super sad, kinda the way Up was. Then again, Home makes me cry at certain scenes too. And this isn't a new pregnancy thing, children's movies often have this effect on me.
@erindippity I feel like we could hang. I'm so over Beyonce. Moana is my jam and I love kids movies. I used to take my younger cousins as an excuse to see them. I love Teen Mom, but I feel like I'm rooting for them (except Farrha), all Beyonce does is shove her wealth in everyone's face.
I don't know how many country fans we have in here, but I'm obsessed with Thomas Rhett and his wife. They just adopted a precious little girl from Africa and she's 36 weeks pregnant (like me!). He posts the sweetest things about her and I just want to be friends with them.
@SouthernMama15 I really like Thomas Rhett's music but don't follow his personal life.
Watched LA LA Land this week and it took me a long time to get into it. But then I cried at the end. I think I've cried like three times this entire pregnancy.

@bumpybump I follow him and his wife on Instagram. They just seem like the nicest, down to earth people. Doesn't hurt that he's from Georgia. I saw him in concert and he's so talented, he can play pretty much any instrument he picks up.
She named her kid 'Sir'. Clearly she should have been on a bump board, we would have helped out with that one.

I would have had a hard time with that too, @PinkPrincessPiper! I am 100% done after this pregnancy, but don't know if I could sign that if I was have a c-section. I am working on DH to get snipped.
We are on a steady rotation of Trolls, Moana and Beauty and the Beast dance parties at my house and I love these soundtracks more than anything on the radio right now. Beauty and the Beast has been the big thing the past two weeks, and I have a major crush on the guy who plays Gaston (Luke Evans). He is gay, but so cute and I love his voice.
@donehue and @SouthernMama15 I dont have kids at home, yet, but I might have those soundtracks playing (as well as most disney soundtracks) while I work! I am a HUGE choir nerd, and musicals always get me hooked. Im absolutely in love with the beasts voice in Beauty and the Beast!

Musicals are the best! I like having my girls exposed to the orchestral parts of beauty and the beast too - they are beautiful. I am just coming off a few months of only listening to Hamilton while at work - not the same kind of singing, but so freaking motivating!
When I was little I'm pretty sure the musical rotation in my house was Grease/Sound of Music. It wasn't until I got older that the good disney music started coming out (I was in first grade I think for Little Mermaid).
Musicals have always been a part of my life, my parents are huge music geeks, and I have been singing for the majority of my life. I was a vocal educaiton minor in college (meaning I can technically teach voice). I rotate through so many musicals while working, and Broadway/Disney are my faves! My #1 is Lion King, and when DH took me to see it on Broadway for the first time, for our first anniversary, I cried!

My baby shower is tomorrow and DH and I peeked at the registry list to see what's been purchased. That's not the FFFC though. It's that I'm irritated my dad chose the cheapest thing on there because he thinks buying new is ridiculous. Like clothes and some things okay, but to be told if I don't want a second hand car seat, that's on me, is beyond frustrating. He'll spend all sorts of money on things for his new wife and then gets my brothers and I nothing. I'm also irritated at the fact that I've been asked by him and my grandma multiple times on what I need and I tell them everything because we were waiting until after the shower to buy most things as family said they'd help with big ticket items and then they go and by a baby blanket. Seriously?!
@mrsashworth522 that would make me so mad. I hate when people buy a bunch of little stuff I don't really need and act like I'm the irrational one for wanting my kid to be safe. Maybe tell them you'd like gift cards so you can buy what's left after the shower?
@SouthernMama15 I've thought about it. It wouldn't do any good though. But at least I'm prepared for tomorrow when I open the gift and know who it's from. who knows, maybe some of the stuff from the registry wasn't marked as purchased and we'll still get big items. It's hard living in a small town where there is really only target to register at and most things have to be bought online because the baby aisle is just onesies and diapers lol.
@mrsashworth522 maybe you can return things for credit and buy what you actually need? Then if they ask where the blanket is, you can tell them it's back at the store, so you could get what you actually needed! (Full snark intended). If they ask what you need and mention getting big ticket items it can derail your own plan and timing on things when that isn't what happens.

@mrsashworth522 I understand, maybe you'll get some gift cards anyway. I had a lot of older people give me cash or checks.
I'm having the opposite problem, MIL keeps offering a shower and we really don't need anything. I have been eyeing the lillebaby 6 in 1 so I just texted her and said if she really wanted to get something I'd take that
I didn't have a shower and it doesn't look like my office will be throwing one. I originally made a registry (because I thought I was going to have a shower) and now I just use it as my checklist. My sister likes to go on it and tell me how much money I am wasting by buying everything! It's really annoying, especially considering that she is planning a wedding that is way over the $100K mark!
@lewliv Im in the same boat! I really should get some work done, but I just cant seem to get off the bump and work. I really just want to take a nap!

@smallbutmighty77 I laughed at the snark, maybe too hard. But it would not be out of character for me to say something like that. Anything we get we do plan on taking back so there's that.
I think my my dad is just irritated that for Christmas he got all the kids (we're all adults) season passes to six flags. Right after he gave us those was when DH and I announced the pregnancy and he was upset that we ruined his gift. And everytime he texts me he asks if we used them. Uh no. For 1, I'm pregnant. For 2, it's a 2.5 hour drive for us to get there and we are busy. I told you at Christmas to get your money back or transfer them. If you didn't, not my fault but quit taking it out on me.
im just going to try to remain optimistic about the baby shower and hope my mom and SIL will make it fun as they planned it.
@mrsashworth522 Im sorry your dad is being a butt! I gave up on the idea that our big things would be purchased pretty early on, and just accepted that we would get all that stuff for ourselves. Half my amazon registry was just cute random crap (like super hero onesies and a super mario teether, which were both bought!). DH and I are going out this weekend to but the rest of the things we actually need!

@SpotConlon so true! I always go in with my grandma and she loves to give sleepers and blankets. I have convinced her to give those and a gift card to the store they are registered. I figure it's a good combo.
@tova24 I remember your lovely sister (sarcasm intended) from your wedding post. Don't let her burst your bubble. And a registry is always good (I didn't have a shower with child) just for the coupons alone!
@mrsashworth522 return it if you can. I used an app that scan stuff and tells you where it's from. I had a cousin give me a bunch of stuff left over from her shower. It was stuff I didnt need or didn't register for. (Like she gave me a safety kit, when someone else got me the larger size I registered for) I know it's not ideal, burn those gift cards been be use during for other things down the road!
My FFC- I am okay with only having partial/shared custody of my stepson.
Peopel always ask if if we are going to fight for full custody- nope. If his mother's was unfit/on drugs I would. But just because she's (the mom) a pain in my ass, I am not going to do it.
@SpotConlon I got so many fleece blankets with DS. He was born in June, I don't need those. Most of them are still in a tote in my attic. I need to donate them.
@Kudlica27 I did the barcode thing after DS's shower. I would even add stuff from target to my registry and say I got duplicates so they didn't give me crap about returning. I used the store credits to buy my remaining items and saved the rest for diapers, wipes, and formula. Most of it was from people I don't know or see so they had no idea their random outfit or blanket wasn't used. If I got duplicates of books I kept them and would regift them with a registered for gift.
@SouthernMama15 re: Thomas Rhett---when we were in Daytona for Memorial Day to see Chase play @ the country fest, we actually thought we'd get to meet him and Lauren and Willa! Chase is good friends with Thomas and since Lauren, me, and Chase's SIL are all due within a few weeks of each other it would've been great. But alas, she and Willa didn't come and Thomas was playing on the main stage when we had off time with Chase. Would've loved to have met them, they're so cute and sweet!
@tova24 I'm so sorry your sister is being such a brat. You're doing SUCH a great job, and I know I'm not the only one here impressed by your dedication and sacrifice for sweet Landon!
I thought the music for Moana was great. I assume DH likes it too since he plays some of the songs on the piano. DS2 really likes the movie and watches it pretty often.
I love musicals. I grew up outside NYC and one of my favorite things to do was go into the city to see a Broadway show with my parents. They've started taking DS1 to musicals when he visits them over the summer and I hope he grows up having a similar appreciation for Broadway.
@tova24 Just echoing what everyone else on here is saying. Your sister sounds like a twat, and I can truly say that I admire you. You are already such an incredible mother, and Landon is incredibly blessed to have you as his mommy. I wish Texas was closer to NJ!!
Another FFFC, we are going to a charity polo event tomorrow which is so not us. I feel my current dresses don't make the cut so with less than three weeks of pregnancy left, I'm going dress shopping. Hope I find something!

Not sure if this is confession or UO, but while I love musicals on the stage, there's something about movie musicals that make me cringe. I can't put my finger on it at all. This opinion does not extend to Disney/Pixar movies that are designed for kids either. But like, La La Land? Not watching it. And I did love the live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, but that was my favorite animated movie as a child so it's an exception to my weird rule.
My sister is such a twat. I bought an adorable high chair and she literally said "no one buys those or uses them." I was mean and said "you would know because you have a kid, right?" Pic of adorable high chair below.
@tova24 you are from chicago right, is your sister still here? I am happy to pay her a 'you dont know shit' cranky pregnant lady visit!!

@tova24 as a wedding gift, I'd like to buy your sister a fucking clue. She really needs to check herself. Where is the baby supposed to eat? What an idiot
I used the high chair for more than just meals. It helped contain him while I showered. Also used it to put him in to watch TV safely while I had sex, to be honest.
