Re: Saturday Ticker Change 7/8

  • Good morning ladies! Hope everyone had a great week.

    1) 19 weeks, size of a mango or zucchini
    2) Feeling really good, only complaint is continued low back that is becoming worse sciatic pain. I tried acupuncture for the first time yesterday and am seeing a chiropractor, so we'll see if any of that helps.
    3) Yes he's a boy, and I'm showing a bit. Yesterday was the first time someone who knows me guessed I was pregnant based on my bump, so that was exciting! Maybe it's becoming a little more obvious and less just excess weight.
    4) No, anatomy scan is next week
    5) Not really! I'm really enjoying being pregnant right now, I can't believe it's almost halfway over, and life is good.
    6) I live by SLC, Utah, and moved here almost 7 years ago to be near the mountains. It has not disappointed! My favorite thing is how close I live to amazing hiking, biking, climbing, skiing, etc. It's easy to get up in the mountains after work, and I think it's hard to find a decent sized city in such close proximity to that. I can't wait to take the little guy hiking with us!  <3

  • @shellac835 SLC sounds beautiful! I would love to be close to so many activities, but I also love variety you find in bigger cities. For example, I'm a foodie and I love eating all different types of foods.

I'm totally with you on the lower back pain and my tailbone hurts if I sit too long. I may need to look into physical therapy since the endometriosis is on my sciatic nerve. Maybe the pregnancy is now squishing it even more.

I totally missed our weekly threads (this and MOMs) because I was out of town. We went to DC for the holiday weekend to visit my brother and family and my other brother came up with his family too. My nieces and nephew kept me very busy. One thing I have add since I missed it last week is my SO is so great! He amazes me more every day. It was his idea to drive to DC with my parents (they're getting too old to drive alone) and visit my brother. I love my family so much and I just can't believe I was so lucky to find someone who loves my family too. He's also taking such good care of me (as usual, but more often now). We also had a wonderful date night the other night which we hadn't had in a while due to morning sickness. AND, let's just say that my libido is back in action LOL.  It was so nice to see that everyone's SOs are making them happy! I love seeing love. Sorry for the long post, but I had to throw that in.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    17 weeks with di/di twins

    2) How are you feeling?
Pretty good, but still need nausea meds. I've switched to Zofran now. I forgot to take it one day and the nausea came right back and I threw up.
    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
Not yet, but we do know that one is a boy from the blood test. I'm feeling confident we'll see our baby girl at the anatomy scan later this month (we'd love one of each).

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
No, not until the anatomy scan.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: Low back pain is a bitch! Rave: Maxi dresses are my thing right now.

    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live?
We live near Detroit. As mentioned above, I love the variety of restaurants and I love walking along the Riverwalk where you can look across the river and see Windsor, Ontario Canada. There's a lake in our town so we love to take the boat out there.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
18 weeks! Baby is the size of an artichoke!
    2) How are you feeling?
Still vomiting every other day or so. I've also been very tired lately, but I have a 10 month old not sleeping well and he is keeping me awake.
    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
We don't know the sex yet, but I have started showing a bit. It looks more like I had too much to eat recently than a baby bump, but there's something there! Haha
    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Yes! Ultrasound and appointment later in the week.
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
It's really been driving me crazy when people ask me if I want this baby to be a boy or a girl. I don't know why it's irritating me (hormones probably) but literally even people I barely know ask and it just seems annoying to me.
    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live?
I like that there is a lot to do with children (i.e. Splash pads, pools, zoo, etc.). I grew up in a small town where there wasn't anything near by, so it's nice to have things in such proximity!
  • Thanks @blueskies17 for getting is started
  • @shellac835 @clovelyone  I've also been getting lower back pain and the sore tailbone when sitting too long, as well as some neck pain (which has come and gone my whole adult life). I went through a bout of lower back pain for a while before I was pregnant too and found that the yoga stretches on this site really helped. I've been doing them recently whenever my back hurts and they seem to be working. https://breakingmuscle.com/fitness/heal-your-lower-back-pain-with-these-5-yoga-poses?page=0,0

@boothbaby4 I hope you have a great appointment this week!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
16 w, di/di twins. They're the size of dill pickles and action figures this week!
    2) How are you feeling?
My stomach's been really messed up the last few weeks (no nausea, but other stuff...). I've been debating calling my GI, but I have an appointment with him in a couple of weeks, so I'd prefer to just wait until then.
    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
We'll find out in 2 weeks and 2 days (can you tell I'm excited? lol). Well, mostly my gut just looks bigger, but I'm not fitting in my pants too well anymore...
    4) Any appointments this week/last?
No, one next week, then the anatomy scan the week after that.
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Excited for my friend's wedding next weekend!
    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live?
I live in Niantic, CT it's just the most charming and picturesque little beach village and it's got a great school system! It's also only 2-3 hours from Boston and NYC, so if I want to go into the city to see a show or my husband wants to catch a Redsox game, it's totally doable. Ahhhh I love where I live so much!
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    16 weeks - the size of a dill pickle....specifically a 4.5 inch pickle

    2) How are you feeling?
Good! I think I'm in the "honeymoon phase". Very few symptoms at the moment.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
No and no.....I'm so jealous of everyone who is!

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Nope. My next is July 18th. Then anatomy scan on August 3rd. Can't wait.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I really want to feel baby kick or outgrow my pants. I'm still in all of my normal clothes.

    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live?
It's beautiful! Mountains and ocean both easily accessible. Lots of things to do. I live in a suburb of Seattle.
    31 years young
    from Seattle(ish)
    5 years married
    FTM and PGAL
    EDD is 12/23/17
    -- It's a BOY! ---

  • @shellac835 SLC sounds amazing- Wish I lived close to mountains!
@boothbaby4 I would be super annoyed by that question too- what are they gonna do with that information?!
@moonlady-2 Seattle is on my list of places that I haven't been to, but think I would love!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 18w, sweet potato!

    2) How are you feeling? I have more energy overall but oddly also feel slower/heavier.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
Baby's a boy. It seems like I'm showing to the point where strangers have started noticing that I'm pregnant- it's a surreal experience!

    4) Any appointments this week/last? Not till anatomy scan in 2 weeks

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: I started feeling baby! It's such a surprise because I have an anterior placenta and I've been feeling him multiple times a day since yesterday.

    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live? I live in NYC and I love the convenience and walkability- I'm within a few blocks of several grocery chains, countless restaurants, great shopping and the subway. I'm not truly a city person (looking forward to the suburbs) but love my neighborhood because it's so convenient yet also tucked away on a nice and quiet street.
  • Thanks, @leilagphillips! Some of those exercises are what I learned in physical therapy, but I'm guessing the one on your tummy is probably not a good idea LOL. I'm thinking of going to PT because I want to make sure that the exercises are safe for the babies too. I would think that pretty much all of them except the tummy one would be OK. I've also thought about finding a prenatal yoga video online. I hope you get some relief soon for both your back and GI issues.

@moonlady-2 I feel movements, but it seems so random and my SO can't feel it yet. I can't wait for him to be able to feel it. I love that he talks to them, kisses my belly and rubs it too. That's so cute to me.
  • @clovelyone Yeah, my go-to stretch is the one where you lie on your back and then put your knees to one side and then to the other side, with your arms stretched out. I know later in the pregnancy we're not supposed to do exercises that involve lying on our backs either (I think it restricts blood flow to the uterus) but for now, I think it's ok. I also would like to find some prenatal yoga videos. I have an On Demand BeachBody video subscription (that I currently never use), so I think there might be one or two on there.
  • @leilagphillips Yes, I love that one too!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 16wks - avocado
    2) How are you feeling? Pretty good, just sleepy.
    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
    14 days to go!!!
    4) Any appointments this week/last? Last week I had an appt, finally heard the HB tech said in the 150s, so I'm thinking girl. #sisters!
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? About pregnancy no. Car insurance, pull up a chair and let me tell you a story!
    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live? We're south of Detroit, honestly there isn't all that much going on around here. But we live close to Lake Erie where we take the boat and go fishing or swim. It is pretty, and I like 4 seasons for the most part.

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
15+2, babies are the size of navel oranges or a box of crayons :)

    2) How are you feeling?
Feeling good!  I still get tired pretty quickly, but otherwise, I'm ok!

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
Dont know the sex yet, although we had an US last week. My doctor couldn't confirm, but baby B looks like a boy FOR SURE. Which would make baby a a boy too. I'll wait until I get confirmation on the 20th to be sure.
And yes, I am fully showing. To my other twin moms - how are you guys not showing so much?  I look fully pregnant - my doctor says I'm measuring at 20 weeks for a singleton pregnancy!

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Last week I just had a quick check in with my OB and she did a fast US. I have those every 4 weeks. I have appointments with my maternal fetal medicine doctor every 2 weeks also. So I'm getting checked out allllllll the time. No complaints, though. I love seeing my littles :)

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Not right now. I was away all weekend on just a disasterous camping trip and I couldn't wait to get home. Ugh. I got home yesterday at 9am and took a long shower and got in my jam jams and watched tv allll day. It was great. Just a few more days until we go to Maui, so I'm just hanging in there. So ready for a vacay!

    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live?

I love literally everything about my city. I live in San Francisco, which has any kind of weather condition or activity you could possibly want within a few hours at most. Wine country, river kayaking, boating, nightlife, music festivals, food festivals, amazing cuisine. We've got it all!  And it's freaking gorgeous everywhere you look.
  • @breezybee I had a minor freak out a few days ago when I looked at all the HDBD photos people are posting and saw how big some of their bumps are, even for singletons! Like how can I have two avocado sized beings inside me and not see them from the outside?! But my colleague who just had twins told me I might not start showing until 20 weeks and Google seems to concur, so I'm trying to stay calm until I confirm all is well at my OB appointment next week. I definitely do feel more "expanded", especially after I eat so that makes me feel a little better, even though I can't see it.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    18 weeks +2, artichoke

    2) How are you feeling?
Pretty crummy- my wife and I both got sick Thursday last week with some kind of nasty stomach virus.  I took off work Friday, and back today, but my stomach is still tender, and I don't have much of an appetite.  I'm trying to make sure to stay hydrated at least. :/

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
    Team green.
I think it depends  what I'm wearing still.  I certainly notice it, since I usually don't carry much weight on my belly.  i love the stretchy maternity pants, and also comfy dresses.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Brief midwife appointment last week.  2 weeks from today 'til the 20 week US!!!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I just want my appetite back. It does stress me out, worrying if I'm getting enough food right now.

    6) GTKY: What is your favorite thing about the area/town/city you live in? Optional add on Q: Where do you live?
I love how walkeable Baltimore is.  We are just a few blocks away from our year-round Saturday morning farmer's market, and there's a newish brewery also a few blocks away with a game room and kids play area.  Friday afternoons have become a de facto parents with young kids happy hour!

As of 12/15/2017, my new hashtag is #41 and pregnant!
  • @leilagphillips Sorry - I for sure didn't mean for that to cause any worry!  It's probably because I already had a bit of a Buddha belly pre pregnancy :)
  • @breezybee It's cool! I've calmed down since my panic the other day. I've also got a belly for sure lol, but mine still doesn't look like a bump yet. I know I'll get there soon enough!
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
15 weeks size of navel orange

    2) How are you feeling?
Exhausted super busy at work. Long hours. Swollen feet at end but of day. Lots of bloating

    girl not yet showing
