We don't know whether we're dealing with singular or plural so we call them "poppies" (that's the size now but I think the name will stick), which morphed to "shmoppies" and we joke that there are like 30 of them.
I refer to this one as mystery baby when talking about the future. But I don't really have a name for him/her/them. I haven't really given any of my kids names in utero actually.
I haven't given any of my in-utero babies nicknames, either. We just call it "the baby" when talking to our daughter. I like "fishy" though, especially since they will start feeling like a fish in a few weeks!
OMG @hullabalou This time you're having a bean. Are we talking green, pinto, lima, French, string...? Inquiring minds want to know! My friends have a Theo. They actually had a different boy name picked out but then he turned out to have such a serious little face that the original name seemed totally wrong.

Mostly we just call him/her "baby" because of my 21 month old. But the past two days it's been "pea" because of the baby's size in the most recent update. We even ate peas, since LO loves them LOL.
We called our son Little Drummer because he always looked like he was drumming in the ultrasounds. And because I was on a band at the time, all of my band mates called him our backup dancer

My husband says "butter bean" but I just say bean, non-specific lol.
I probably won't name this one until I make it out of 1st tri.
In utero, my son was "chicken" because my ticker change day was Thursday and when I was pregnant with him there was an Old El Paso "Chicken Thursday" commercial on TV...so he became known as baby chicken

It's still so surreal that I can't even think about it. Although, we should because DH keeps saying stuff about "the baby" by accident when talking in front of the kids. They haven't caught on and I want to wait to tell them until we know everything is ok. DD was "princess" the whole time- DS and DH were sure she was a girl from the beginning.
My DH calls it the "little ensign" because he's a major Trekkie and wants to do another Star Trek baby announcement. Sigh... I've just been calling it "baby last name".
