Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread: 7/8-7/14

  • Still suffering bad migraines on and off. Have started to deal with the gas pains from all the organs getting moved around

  • Hit week 12 today!! Woohoo!!! My nausea has let up quite a bit this week...thank god. My energy is coming back. I even had enough energy to completely empty out our spare bedroom (soon to be baby's room) and completely reorganize my son's room.

I have been getting more heart palpitations. They are more annoying than anything right now. Anyone else experiencing this?
  • @burnsmommy27 The gas pains are no joke! They are terrible, and I'm not looking forward to them.
  • @TInman87 I'm exactly the same: great in the morning, exhausted and queasy in the afternoon.

  • I don't remember this from previous pregnancies (I probably blocked it lol) but my nipples are so itchy! It's awful

    Baby #4 on the way!
  • I can't stand anything on my belly at this point, in the form of pants. Even maternity pants feel too tight and make me queasy. No matter how far under the belly the pants are, it just isn't working for me. I don't remember this with DS at all.
  • @KatieEl yessss, my boobs have been really itchy lately. Along with my back and stomach.
  • @Cricket99 my OB asked me last week if I had any cramping and I told her yes but I'm pretty sure it's just killer gas. She laughed and said yes that's pretty normal for right now
  • 13 weeks & 1 day!

My skin is super dry. Also,  ditto to Wonder Woman feelings in the morning, followed by the Blob in the afternoon. I now know what y'all were talking about with the gas - holy! Scaring myself, partner, cat, and likely my neighbours!

  • @sdamicis1125 yay for less nausea! Mine started to get better the last few weeks and it's been amazing!

Together Let Us Seek the Heights

  • Yay for 2nd tri energy! I still tend to feel gross in the mornings but an hour or two after breakfast I'm usually better. The insomnia is starting to hit now though.
  • Omg, GAS. And constipation. I feel ewww...

Also, my muscles get sore and worn out quickly. Walking upstairs is torture.
  • edited July 2017
Shooting boob pain! Like stop me in my tracks and take a moment to recover, pain.
  • I'm still nauseous, but I haven't figured out a pattern. It happens in the morning or the evening, sometimes it's before I get around to eating (I take thyroid meds and have to wait half an hour before I can eat in the morning), sometimes it hits me when I am in the middle of eating.

My boobs have grown and I really need to go and get some bigger bras. I have to see if I can find the recommendation of a friend for good bigger bras.

  • I'm sick and tired of being sick and .... tired ! I'm almost 13 weeks , still on my morning sickness med which helps me only puke a couple times a day but man it makes me into a real life zombie ... the mornings I feel like I only got a couple hrs of sleep . Hoping that this little bean only makes me sick a little longer unlike DD where I was sick every day until she arrived in the world . Sigh..... DH and I got in a fight because I'm a crab ass and he feels bad for getting me pregnant ... poor guy , I felt terrible because I'm not mad in the least it's just how my body handles growing humans . This too shall pass , DD is his entire world and so will this LO .... totally off topic sorry
  • @caeilievalor yes for sore muscles! I've finally been feeling well enough to walk in the evenings and just walking my neighborhood for 20-30 minutes a night has made my leg muscles embarrassingly sore. I used to run distance and now my legs act like that never happened. Although I'm sure it's a reflection of just how bed ridden I have been for the past 2 months.

Im a little worried since I have put on probably 8ish lbs or so and I'm 13 weeks. I started at a healthy weight so I'm hoping the nightly walks can help counter the surplus weight gain. With my last two babies I actually lost a bit of weight first tri but this time I have been eating carbs and starches like every hour and a half to help with nausea
  • New symptom for this pregnancy... 14 weeks & was visiting/interviewing with a lovely woman who will be caring for our dog during our upcoming vacation. We were chatting right along when... my ears felt under water, I started sweating, and knew right away if I didn't sit I was going to faint out cold in this sweet woman's house!! I've fainted once before in the heat when I was younger and had just done a running workout. So luckily I knew the sensations. She was so kind as I quickly (and randomly!) moved for the nearest chair and asked for a glass of ice water. Everything I read said this can be very common in pregnancy and especially the 2nd Tri. But anyone else get the dizzy spells?!? It almost got really embarrassing!
  • @myorke24 I had that problem a lot with my first pregnancy. It would come out of nowhere. Usually sitting and drinking some water and having a snack helped. I've only had it happen once so far this pregnancy, but I am waiting for it to start happening more often in 2nd tri.
  • @myorke24 Yes! This happened to me last week while I was driving and it was so, so scary. My nurse said that standing too long or getting up too quickly can cause this, as well as not eating enough protein.

  • I've been getting headaches almost every day but I think maybe I'm getting a little bit of energy back? Too soon to tell. Hoping to be rid of nausea this week. It seems to be getting lighter every day so we'll see. Still in that "no food sounds good" phase but hoping to maybe start trying to eat actual dinners this week instead of ramen noodles every night. I've been craving chicken pot pie so I might have to make one this week.
  • @Cricket99 and @missblaze , thank you ladies! It was all so fast but luckily I remembered from my other fainting spell the progression of it. @missblaze , you were driving?! Oh no! I was afraid of that yesterday so I spoke to my Husband the whole way home! That's interesting about the protein. It was the first morning I scooted out of the house with just eating a banana! I figured I'd eat when I got home from the meeting. Time to keep some snacking options on hand!
  • @myorke24 Yes! I was on my way to work. The nurse actually told me to eat something with protein before bed so that in the morning it was less likely to happen. It's very common in 2nd trimester though, and we just have to be careful and aware of the triggers.

  • I finally have my energy back....I almost feel "normal" again. My stomach has really popped out though and I feel so self conscious about it!

  • I have the strangest "bruisey" feeling right under my belly button. It really freaked me out when I first felt it, because I'd been playing pretty enthusiastically with my 4 yo niece, but my cousin (we had a big family event this weekend) who is due in October said she had something similar when she around the beginning of the 2nd tri, so I felt kind of reassured.

I had my first mostly-nausea-free weekend, which was great, I even ate food! But yesterday I was back to misery (out both ends) and could barely keep anything down. I just read an article about nutrition in pregnancy and they recommend 6 servings of this and 4 servings of that and I just... boggled. I'm not eating six servings of anything right now! I'm lucky if I eat half a grilled cheese sandwich, and a granola bar in a whole day some days. I'm getting my nutrients from Gatorade and prenatal gummies.
  • I've been feeling pretty miserable the last few days. Lots of intermittent dizziness/lightheadedness throughout the day. Not full blown nausea but sort of feeling carsick a lot of the time. I'm ready for my body to adjust to 2nd trimester and feel better!

OMG yes.  I can usually get 1 meal in and then I'm full for the rest of the day and eating more makes me feel literally hungover.  I'm at 14w5d and people keep telling me that they felt better at 15 or 16 weeks etc.  Although, I feel like the bar keeps moving back.....when I was like 8 weeks along and feeling terrible it was "as soon as the 2nd trimester hits you'll feel amazing" then I got here and now it's "oh later in the 2nd trimester is when I started to feel better"  I just want to eat food again and not feel like death after!

  • 11w 3D and my symptoms are minimal and it's freaking me out!!
  • @JuliaGoolia719 I sympathize so hard. I have heard of food aversions, but I did not know I was going to have an aversion to practically ALL food. There's a handful of things I can eat (hello babybel cheese!) but basically thinking about food is gross. I try to eat at least one thing every day that grew from a plant. Yesterday I failed.
  • @auntieraindrop up until the last week or so eating anything that resembled a fruit or veggie was out of the question, its been AWESOME to be able to eat fruit again (in very small quantities and veggies are still not going well)

  • I'm still feeling nauseaus, the heartburn and hickups are real, but at least I am not quite as tired and sleepy as I used to be. Also, I need to buy new bras urgently, I'm afraid.

  • My nausea is only lasting for short amounts of time now, I'm so grateful! I've been feeling dizzy as well and my back has been hurting. I've been doing some prenatal yoga videos on YouTube and they've been helping with the backache and RLP. Oh and my boobs. I went from a D to a DDD  :# I'm scared, how big will they get?!
  • My feet and fingers are slowly swelling. I had to take off my wedding ring today (with the help of some olive oil).

Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • @KLake42 that sucks, I'm sorry. I do not look forward to my ring not fitting.
  • @missblaze yay! I've been waiting for it too. Thought maybe I felt something last night but it was probably gas.
  • @schaze At first I wasn't sure, but then I felt it again a little bit later and yup. Definitely movement. It's such a weird sensation, I wouldn't have known if this was my 1st time being pregnant.

  • @KLake42 I'm right there with you. I ordered a silicon band off of Qalo a while back in anticipation and I finally had to switch last night. I usually take my rings off at work because it's more comfortable for me to type without them and it's been getting harder and harder. I've barely been able to get my wedding band off the last couple of days and I didn't want to push it anymore.
  • Constipation, you guys. It's awful. I have been taking colace at night but even then my stomach is
all out of wack. Any suggestions for becoming more regular? I'm 100% sure it's from the iron in my prenatal. (But obviously can't stop taking it....)
